This week, Marty "Dorothy" Sliva, Alanah "Blanche" Pearce, Andrew "Rose" Goldfarb, and Zach "Sophia" Ryan gather round and gab about finishing Resident Evil VII, getting our asses handed to us in Nioh, Call of Duty "going back to its roots," Destiny 2, and KISSIN' IN THE VIDEO GAMES.

Podcast Beyond Episode 479: How Nioh Takes Inspiration From The Souls Series

This week, Max "Viva Piñata!" Scoville and Brian "Kinect Sports" Altano are joined by IGN UK editors Daniel "Kameo" Krupa and Gav "Grabbed By The Ghoulies" Murphy to chat about Nioh, Team Ninja's samurai Souls-like (which is being received very well), the complete absurdity of Yakuza Zero, and games like Psychonauts 2 and Yooka-Laylee bringing back 3D platforming.

Beyond Episode 477: Resident Evil VII, Kingdom Hearts 2.8, and Our Kojima Visit

This week, Max “Goofs” Scoville, Brian “Guffaws” Altano, Marty “Japes” Sliva, and Jonathon “Monkeyshines” Dornbush get together to talk about Resident Evil 7 being rad, Kingdom Hearts 2.8 taking us to KH3’s doorstep, and Marty’s Tokyo visit to Kojima’s new studio.

Beyond Episode 476: Horizon: Zero Dawn vs Zelda: Breath of the Wild

This week, Max "Rocky" Scoville, Andrew "Colt" Goldfarb, Marty "Tum Tum" Sliva, and Brian "There Were Only 3 Ninjas" Altano get together to chat about Guerrilla Cambridge's closure, Mass Effect bangin', and Horizon coming out three days before Zelda.

Podcast Beyond Episode 475: Resident Evil 7's Scares & FF7 Remake's Release Date

This week, Max "Nerds Rope" Scoville, Brian "Big League Chew" Altano, Alanah "Skittles" Pearce, are joined by special guest Nick "Hershey's Kiss" Robinson from Polygon. You might be familiar with his podcast CoolGames Inc., or the incredible video series Car Boys, but if you're not, fix that immediately. Anyway, Nick and Alanah both played around with Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, which sounds scary. Gravity Rush 2 reviews are out in the wild, the Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Kingdom Hearts III might be a longer wait than we realized, and a bunch of other stuff about VR and video games and whatnot. It's a podcast, listen to it.

Podcast Beyond Episode 473: The 2016 Beyond Holiday Special

It's that time of year again: the time of year when we're tired of talking about news and also, there is no news, so let's look back on 2016, ahead to 2017, and of course... Discuss the movie Heavyweights.

Podcast Beyond Episode 472: Family-Friendly Games That Don't Totally Suck

This week, join Max "You'll Shoot Your Eye Out" Scoville, Marty "Buzz's Girlfriend, Woof!" Sliva, Brian "Yippee Ki Yay" Altano and, on his last episode for the foreseeable future, Jared "To Me, You Are Perfect" Petty as they discuss a pathetic smattering of gaming news in these pre-holiday doldrums, what they have on their 2016 backlogs, and most importantly: what are the best Playstation games to play in the presence of younger or older relatives, who might not be okay with F-bombs and no-scope headshots?

Podcast Beyond Episode 471: Our Death Stranding and Last of Us Part 2 Theories

The boys are back in town... From PSX! Well, Marty "Marvelous Medicine" Sliva, Brian "Enormous Crocodile" Altano, and Andrew "Golden Ticket" Goldfarb got to check out a bunch of new games down in Anaheim, while Max "Big Friendly Giant" Scoville stayed home and watched the Death Stranding trailer on repeat. Marty reviewed The Last Guardian, and we're all very excited to know that Naughty Dog is still making new games, like Uncharted: The Lost Legacy and The Last of Us Part II.

Podcast Beyond Episode 470: Ten Years Later, Final Fantasy XV Has Arrived

This week, Max "Farfetch'd" Scoville, Marty "Weezing" Sliva, Alanah "Snorlax" Pearce and Brian "Grimer" Altano gather round the ol' Coleman camp stove to reflect upon the long awaited release of Final Fantasy XV, which was announced over a decade ago. What were you doing in 2006? Meanwhile, Watch Dogs 2 might be GOTY material for some of us, and hey, why is it so hard to nail down a GOTY this year anyway? The Game Awards nominees have us very anxious.

Finally, come say hello at PSX this weekend if you see us. It's okay, we're awkward too. Details on Facebook here.

Podcast Beyond Episode 469: Uncharted 4's Survival Mode and Sleeping Dogs 2

This week, Max "Slam Dunk" ScovilleMarty "Hattrick" SlivaBrian "Over The Line" Altano, and Jared "Slapshot" Petty gather round to discuss Uncharted 4's upcoming survival mode, the ill-fated Sleeping Dogs 2, how Watch Dogs 2 and Titanfall 2 had a poorer reception than their predecessors, and LEGO City Undercover coming to current gen systems. Whew. Buncha stuff.

Podcast Beyond Episode 467: Mass Effect Andromeda's Hype and Skepticism

This week, join Max "Arch Deluxe" Scoville, Brian "Spicy McChicken" Altano, Andrew "Happy Meal" Goldfarb, and special guest Terri "The McFlurry" Schwartz as we talk about how little we know about Mass Effect Andromeda and what the hype forecast looks like, The Division's upcoming survival mode expansion, and Capcom's lowered expectations for Resident Evil 7: Biohazard.

Podcast Beyond Episode 465: Red Dead's Scenic Grandeur, Titanfall 2's Platforming, and Review Copies

Hey gang! This week, your pals Max "The Far Side" Scoville, Marty "Zippy The Pinhead" Sliva, Brian "For Better of For Worse" Altano, and Andrew "Garfield" Goldfarb wax poetic (and cinematic and artistic) about Red Dead Redemption 2's reveal trailer, and Jared Petty's lovely writeup about its Western themes. Titanfall 2 is being received really well, and finally, Bethesda is done sending out early review copies, which is a little frustrating for people in our field.

Podcast Beyond 464: Red Dead Redemption 2 Expectations, PS VR, and Battlefield 1

This week, Max "Baja Blast" ScovilleBrian "Pitch Black" AltanoMarty "Code Red" Sliva, and Alanah "Live Wire" Pearce have teamed up, yet again, to make noises with their weird little mouths. Obviously, the big news is the announcement of Red Dead Redemption 2, so we talk about our hopes and expectations, as well as Rockstar's legacy. Then, Max gushes about Battlefield One, which is weird, since he normally hates competitive military shooters. Finally, Brian got a PSVR, and he's in love with it.

Podcast Beyond 463: Mafia 3, Westworld & What Makes Good Open World Games

This week, Max "Bucket of Pogs" Scoville, Marty "A Boglin" Sliva, and Andrew "The Littlest Pet Shop" Goldfarb are joined by Lucy "X-Men Fleer Ultra" O'Brien to chat about Mafia III and how in spite of all it does well, it doesn't quite work as a sandbox game. Conversely, HBO's Westworld is shaping up to be one of the best shows about video games that isn't actually about video games.

Podcast Beyond Episode 462: PlayStation VR is Finally Here!

Most of the crew is in New York City covering Comic-Con, so Marty and Andrew brought in a rotating crew of IGN editors who handled a bulk of the initial PlayStation VR reviews. Is the future finally upon us, or is VR just a passing fad?

Podcast Beyond Episode 461: Watch Dogs 2 is Exactly What We Were Hoping For

This week, Brian "Alvin" Altano, Max "Simon" Scoville and Andrew "Theodore" Goldfarb sit down to discuss their time playing Watch Dogs 2, Persona 5 (in Japanese) and just when we're discussing the novel concept of a Firewatch movie, we're interrupted by the delivery of a brand new piece of Playstation-branded gaming hardware. I wonder what it could be!
