  • Justine Murphy’s childhood through her mid-twenties was one of abuse, neglect, malnutrition and heartache. Repeatedly let down by those around her, she clung to the glimmers of joy brought to her through food – from the first person to show her genuine love, to the jobs that enabled her moments of freedom, friendships and the possibility of belief – it was this recurring theme that became the light with which she would pull herself out of the darkness, and from which she found not only her salvation, but her future: a future full of love, happiness, strength and pride.

She made her final escape at the age of 25, leaving the UK in pursuit of forging a career for herself as a chef on super yachts. Finally swapping misery for joy, it was a career that led to her meeting her husband, settling down – in the beautiful island of Mallorca – and creating the family she had always dreamed of. It was also the seed that ignited her vision and dream for creating a business around the very things that had enabled her to heal: good food, and good people.

Now in its eighth year, mymuybueno is a highly successful international company with seven divisions, but it is Justine's core values and commitment to maintaining the personal touch that really make her company stand out from the crowd. Built from the ground up, the group now includes an award-winning deli, chef and interior staffing agencies, a cookery school, concierge and lifestyle management service, bespoke events and luxuryware divisions – all with the connection between good food and good people at the very heart of them.

Justine works to build community creating a Woman in Business group, with monthly events that enable women to come together to share, inspire and support each other. She is committed to helping others live a better quality of life, and to bringing people together. And with food having been such a core part of her life, particularly in the transition from a life of pain and hurt into one of happiness, it is through her latest endeavour, The mymuybueno Cookbook, that she is ready to share everything on a bigger scale: where she is sharing her story, her food, and the philosophy by which she now lives her life – and that enables her to juggle being a successful businesswoman with being a wife and mother – in order to help inspire and encourage others.

  • Sonja Morgan is a television personality, fashion designer, and entrepreneur best known for appearing on The Real Housewives of New York City. Prior to joining the cast in 2010, Sonja had long been considered one of the most prominent “movers and shakers,” beginning in the ‘80s as she balanced her studies at FIT with modeling around the globe. Sonja soon became a luxury brand consultant, and always had her finger on the pulse of the very best restaurants, hotels, and fashion. Restaurateur Sirio Maccioni of Le Cirque once said that “very few people have her talent in our business,” and Esquire Magazine’s John H. Mariani labeled her as “the straw that stirs the drink.”

Having long been celebrated for her fashion taste in the New York society pages, and given her history working in the fashion world, Sonja debuted her fashion collection at New York Fashion Week in 2015. Sonja Morgan New York offers a wide variety of luxury fashions at an appealing price point. In 2017 she introduced her heritage brand shoe line, Sonja Morgan by French Sole, and the following year her empire expanded once again with the launch of Sonja by Sonja Morgan, a curated selection of affordable fashions and accessories all under $150.

It was Sonja’s keen eye for business opportunities that led her to The Real Housewives of New York City. Though she initially declined to join the hit reality series when it launched, she signed on in season 3, and ever since has been lauded by viewers for her boisterous personality and one-of-a-kind sense of humor. She’s been a member of the NBCUniversal family for over a decade, and is regularly asked to participate in advertising upfronts, scripted comedies, commercials, and major motion pictures.

Her performing work has included her hit “caburlesque” show (a term coined by Sonja herself), a successful run in the Off-Broadway comedy Sex Tips for Straight Women from a Gay Man, an appearance in Hulu’s “Difficult People,” and a performance at Improv Asylum. Behind the camera, Sonja has served as a producer on movies such as The Marsh, starring Oscar-winner Forest Whitaker, and the 2018 film The Man in the Attic.

Sonja has long been an advocate for the arts, children, animals, and the LGBTQ community and since 1991 has worked with a wide variety of charities including New Yorkers for Children, The Princess Grace Foundation, ASPCA, and GLAAD. Sonja is often celebrated for her philanthropic contributions, going back to 1995 when she was honored at the St. Regis alongside Mira Sorvino and Vanessa Noel for her charity work as a young single woman.

It’s Sonja’s rich personal life that helps make her such a great fit for the hit reality franchise. As a young professional, Sonja broke off her six-year engagement with Italian Count PierFrancesco, who she lived with between Rome and Manhattan. For years the tabloids covered her escapades with famous and influential men, including Prince Albert of Monaco, comedian Richard Lewis, rock legend Eric Clapton, and tennis player John McEnroe. But it was with banker John Adams Morgan, descendant of financier J.P. Morgan and Presidents John Adams and John Quincy Adams, that Sonja met her match. Their “merger” resulted in a successful, loving decade-long marriage and a beautiful daughter.

  • Here is a bit of info Dr. Lousie sent us on menopause. There are so many misunderstandings surrounding the topic and so much scary media that can really sway your opinion. Our talk with the doctor debunks myths and eases your mind. Listen in and Happy New Year!

    Menopause “taboo”

    Dr Louise Newson
    www.menopausedoctor.co.uk

The menopause is still a taboo and not talked about enough. So many women (and men) still do not understand enough about the many different symptoms that can be related to the hormone changes occurring in their bodies during the menopause and peri-menopause. The vast majority of women experience menopausal symptoms at some stage of their lives and symptoms vary from hot flushes and night sweats to feeling tired, irritable and having low-esteem. The psychological symptoms of the menopause should never be underestimated as these can really adversely affect family and work life.

Most of my patients I talk to are really scared and worried about HRT so often turn to alternative treatments for their symptoms. However, what they do not realise is that for the majority of women under 60 years the benefits of HRT outweigh the risks. HRT also works well to reduce future risk of heart disease and osteoporosis, which occur much more frequently in women who do not take HRT. There are many different types of HRT and I spend time with my patients working out the best type and strength of HRT for them. Women are all individuals and need to be treated as much.
