On Monday, September 3, 1990 Betty Jones and Kathryn Crigler were gruesomely raped and killed in Starkville, Mississippi in an unsolved case known as the “Labor Day Murders.” Even though their story received National attention on America’s Most Wanted, artist renderings of the suspect have been created and updated, DNA tests have been run and rerun… the identity of the killer is still unknown. 27 years later, this case remains cold and unsolved. Throughout this true crime podcast, we will dig into the details of these murders, make strides towards uncovering answers and seek justice for the lives of these victims. Undiscovered is a podcast about how science really happens. It's about all the stuff that gets left out of journal articles – the left turns, false starts, harebrained ideas, and lucky breaks that go into scientific research. It’s scientists telling the story of how they discovered something. Most science shows focus on scientific findings – this new thing we know now, that we didn’t know before. But sometimes, the story of HOW the heck scientists figured this new thing is as compelling – sometimes more! – than the discovery. There are some experiments that are also great stories. Undiscovered is a podcast about those stories.
