Episode 4 - Exorcist II: The Heretic

Welcome to the fourth episode of Sequelisers, the show all about fixing bad sequels to good movies. If there’s a good movie that was followed by a terrible sequel, you better believe that we’re going to try and fix it. This episode is all about one of the worst films (let alone sequels) ever made, Exorcist II: The Heretic. Seriously, this is definitely the worst film we've covered so far. So, what can we do to fix it? Change the actors? Change the director? Completely rewrite the script? All of the above, pretty much. It's Your Mother Knits Socks In Hell vs Street Sharks From Hell in this Biblically epic episode. Who do you think had the better pitch? Use #KnitsSocksInHell or #StreetSharks to let us know! Ep 125: Deserving the Ankle Socks (and all the other Good Stuff)

I bought a pair of ankle socks after a lifetime of suffering sockless in Vans. It lead to an epiphany of how much we let ourselves have the "good stuff" - socks, friendship, leisure time, love, money, success, health - all of it. What separates those who believe they deserve the good stuff from the rest of us? The Great British Baking show again reveals powerful Buddhist lessons. An emailer writes in saying he's lost 90 pounds, but why does he still feel crappy inside? A newly single man writes in for dating advice. A 22 year-old boo boo millennial is filled with anxiety about what her next step should be! How can we all GET OUR LIVES!?!?! I will show you! xoxo

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Remembers Coach John Wooden

NBA legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar talks about his 50 year friendship with the "Wizard of Westwood" UCLA Coach John Wooden.  He says Coach Wooden was more concerned with his players’ grades than with winning basketball games, he shares some of the wisdom that Coach Wooden imparted, and and talks about the time Coach helped Abdul-Jabbar forgive another one of his early mentors who used a racial slur.  He talks about how he felt when the NCAA banned dunking and how Coach Wooden helped him overcome that setback by showing him how use his signature "skyhook" to maximum effect in the game.  Plus Kareem shares some of Wooden’s favorite inspirational quotes, the Coach's essential advice on how to put on your shoes and socks, and Kareem explains how his two loves - basketball and jazz are really very similar.

Folding My Clothes by Julia Alvarez | Sunday, June 11, 2017 | The Writer's Almanac with Garrison Keillor

Avril Lavigne Is Dead with Kasey Koop

Hasn’t every little girl dreamed of being a pop star? The fame, the outfits, the chance to goad your best friend into suicide so that you can take over her life and then record some cutesy pop albums. This wicked little conspiracy dates all the way back to 2007, but it’s having a resurgence for some reason. And comedian, writer, stripper and podcast host Kasey Koop is here to argue that Avril died and was replaced by her body double right after her second album. We talk about who married Chad Kroeger, the way artists evolve over a lifetime, Kristen Stewart, Miley Cyrus, Satan, our teen years, and whether astrology is just total bullshit.
