The 3 Most Common Reasons Players Will File a Complaint Against a Casino

People will always find something to complain about - I know that.

Most of the websites I've played on are fine, but there are always a few that give me a reason to complain.

Below, we'll talk about three of the most common reasons players file a complaint.

Deposits Don’t Work

I can relate to that situation. I'm excited to play a game and my deposit simply won't go through.

It is such a letdown. In my experience, this is one of the main and frequent reasons why people complain. There is such a huge range of variables that can cause a deposit to be unsuccessful that it could take pages to mention them. These include:

  • Payment processor problems

  • Card declines

  • Platform server problems

The first thing I try to do is see if there is a problem with my bank or other payment method. In some cases, banks may have some restrictions for payments - I've noticed it's becoming more common for banks to ask me to confirm a transaction through my online banking app before they approve a deposit or any payment.

If the bank is blocking my payments, it's either the bank or the merchant. I’d say it’s the bank I contact more than the merchant. The merchant isn't exactly the one that's going to block a payment to themselves, are they?

The worst case scenario is if a payment is successful but it doesn't arrive in my bank account. If that happens, I'm straight on the phone to customer services.

Withdrawals Don't Work

I'd say withdrawals are equally as frustrating as deposits. No, they're worse - I want my money!

After all, money you have earned or won one way or another is just sitting in your account and you want to withdraw it. When your withdrawal request can't be processed for one reason or another or takes too long to approve, I would argue that there is simply no respect for me.

In some cases, it happens due to a security clearance issue, which is justified but bothersome. In others, there may be unusual restrictions on how much money you can withdraw. There have also been times when the method of withdrawal used to deposit cash is not available as a withdrawal option, putting extra restrictions on me.

I'd recommend staying calm and contacting customer support if something like that happens. If I experience withdrawal failure, I will make a call to customer care and give them everything they need. Most of the time, everything turns out alright.

Games Don't Work

Maybe I was wrong - I find it equally as annoying when titles don't work. What's the point in the platform if you can't play the games?! I know other gamers think the same as me.

This sort of thing happens more often than deposit or withdrawal issues - and I do understand why they happen.

Technical problems or poor internet connection are typically to blame. Most of the time, the software provider is the issue. The game might need an update or something along those lines.

You guessed it - the first thing I'd do is contact customer services. More often than not, they're already aware of the issues.

Then we have situations in which, for whatever reason, it appears the problem is only with me, and that's where it becomes complicated. There are times when I have had to end my sessions due to freezing or crashing issues, and if it is the same issue over and over again, nobody would be happy about that. If it can't be resolved and they're ignoring my complaint, I'd simply find a new website to use. Or I’d recommend contacting the Player’s ArBitration service through websites like Casino Meister - https://www.casinomeister.com/casino-complaints/ - to seek resolution of any issues concerning iGaming online.

Best Ways to Complain to iGaming Platforms

If you’re experiencing an issue, here are some of the most effective ways to contact customer support and get the quickest answers:

  • Live chat - live chats are always the easiest ways to get the quickest response. Beware of live chat bots that automate a response.

  • Email support - most platforms will reply within 24-48 hours or at least send an automated response telling you how long it'll be until a customer service representative answers.

  • Phone support - I wouldn't say it's as common for iGaming platforms to have customer service over the phone, but you can always try.

  • Social media - if the platform has an active social media account, you can always try direct messaging them.

If you play enough on iGaming platforms you will soon come across one or two of these problems. Not that they're major problems and, in my experience, they're always easily resolved, but they're still issues people love to complain about. If in doubt, contact customer support.

As always, remember to gamble responsibly. You can head to resources on websites like Gamblers Anonymous if you need help or information.
