Top 10 podcasts covering online casino tips, reviews and strategies
Introduction
It feels like there’s a podcast for everything these days. While initially this started as a blessing, providing us with access to hyper-niche content and insights, it does feel like the pendulum has now swung a bit too far, and it has becoming difficult to swim through the saturation to find podcasts worth the time and effort.
If you find yourself in this position, help is at hand. We’ve done a lot of the swimming for you and collated the top 10 podcasts that reach right into the heart of the casino gaming world, whether it is reviews, strategies or discussions full of helpful tips for those looking to navigate the iGaming world.
What makes a top online casino podcast?
Identifying impartial podcasts can be a challenge. Given the number of people who listen to podcasts, they’ve become a primary focus for advertisers looking to tap into the most significant potential target market. It’s also easy to find those with a niche and those that could yield the greatest return for advertisers.
This might seem like an obvious point to make, but what it means is that it is more challenging to rate the top podcasts for their reviews, as many of them now do podcasts as part of a marketing campaign. The online casino industry is highly competitive, with platforms constantly vying for visibility and new players. While reputable review sites like Irishluck.ie trust their experts to be as impartial as possible and rate casinos based on a range of set criteria—such as game variety, security, bonuses, and customer support—there are podcasts in the casino world that act as paid adverts for specific platforms, often prioritizing promotion over objective review. As a result, players looking for reliable information must distinguish between genuine reviews and content influenced by sponsorships.
This isn’t the case for all, but it is something to be aware of. For strategies and tips, it’s easier to grasp podcasts with experts sharing their opinions rather than those hosted by those enthusiastic about casino gaming but lacking the experience or knowledge to provide a detailed, weighted opinion.
#1 - You Can Bet on That
This is a bi-monthly podcast that is the go-to pick if you’re a craps player. It covers a range of tips and strategies, and dips into some of the broader news and casino reviews.
#2 - Crap Vegas
Chris and Josh have assembled a bi-weekly podcast for those wanting to discover all the happenings in Vegas. It branches further into the casino world, though, covering humorous tales and wild ideas, while deconstructing some of the more bizarre gambling myths about the casino world.
#3 - The Poker Guys
If you’re after casino podcasts that cover strategy, then those specializing in poker are really the only ones to pay attention to. There’s no strategy involved in slots, roulette or blackjack, so podcasts focusing on poker are where you’ll learn the most about online casino gaming strategy.
Grant and Jonathan jump into the poker world, covering strategies implemented by the top players, including those that didn’t pay off, and some of the big-hitting reviews of the latest poker tournaments and events.
#4 - Vital Vegas Podcast
Scott Roeben has interviewed many top names in the casino business and gathered their insights on how they continue to advertise successfully and develop games with global appeal.
Part of the draw of Vital Vegas is that it finds a great balance of entertainment and casino gaming facts. While some might disagree and think it’s on the zanier side, there are some solid insights, and we’d say it deserves a place as one of the top 10 online casino pods.
#5 - All-In with Chamath, Jason, Sacks & Friedberg
The remarkable success of the Joe Rogan Experience has highlighted just how much potential there is for a podcast to generate the sort of money we’re only used to seeing on TV and in movies. All-In doesn’t just cover casino games and tips; it covers a wide range of topics that the hosts dive into.
It’s a regular weekly podcast, and the hosts have drilled into some fascinating insights over the years. Launched in 2020, the podcast has amassed a vast audience, and although the Wikipedia page says it doesn’t even cover gambling, trust us, it does.
#6 - The Bettor Life
Timothy Lawson’s podcast might be the most online casino-specific on today’s list. Over the years, he’s interviewed dozens of guests, ranging from CEOs of top casinos to some of the world’s most influential names and strategists in online casino gaming. Instead of focusing on the games and strategy, Lawson also covers the history and growth of the industry, coming at it from a different angle and filling a unique niche in this gigantic industry.
#7 - Vegas Confessions
Vegas Confessions touches on a plethora of Sin City-based activities. Admittedly, some of the episodes and content are more on the wacky side of what goes on in the Nevada desert, but many episodes touch on strategies and review some of the latest emerging platforms.
#8 - Smart Poker Study with Sky Matsuhashi
We first encountered this podcast because we stumbled across a recommendation on a social media comment. Although Sky Matsuhashi’s podcasts only have a dozen or so ratings, they’re great for those looking for poker tips.
As the name suggests, Sky doesn’t delve into any other areas of the casino world, but this is one of the better options for poker strategy and learning more about how the game works.
A few years from now, we will be getting our poker news and tips courtesy of AI, which has shown remarkable adaptability to the nuances of poker over the last five years. For now, we’ll stick to human poker tips and strategy, and if you’re of the same mindset, we recommend checking out this pod.
#9 - DAT Poker Podcast
With a name inspired by the three men who host the pod – Daniel Negreanu, Adam Schwartz and Terrence Chan – DAT Poker is the go-to poker pod if you’re after broader news about the poker world. Covering everything from the latest WSOP rumors to sports and trips to Vegas, it’s another podcast we’d recommend – given that Negreanu is poker royalty and was voted the best player of the decade in the 2010s, there are few more qualified to give their insight.
#10 - Gambling With an Edge
Bob Dancer and Richard Munchkin’s podcast has over 200 episodes, and the pair dives into all sorts of casino strategies and topics. There are also several great interviews and insights from those who work within the online casino world.
We must say, of course, that there’s nothing you can do in any casino game that puts the odds in your favor. The edge is always with the house. That said, Munchkin and Dancer are two of the most animated voices in the casino podcast world and are worth checking out.
