What to Expect from an iGaming Podcast?

What to Expect from an iGaming Podcast?

If you want to stay up to date with the latest news, reviews, releases, events, and updates from the iGaming industry, and find it much easier to absorb information by listening to people discussing certain topics rather than reading articles, blog posts, and news items, then you might want to check out this fantastic podcast that I've been tuning in regularly for more than a year now.

The AskGamblers podcasts essentially cover a range of gambling topics in the form of interviews with like-minded players like me and a broad spectrum of industry leaders and experts.

The first-ever podcast was aired in July 2021. They are usually proudly hosted by Nicky Griffiths and brought to you in a friendly and informative way, which is what I like most about them.

You can sometimes catch up to two podcasts per month, and they can be listened to on demand whenever you get an opportunity to sit down, relax, and listen to your favourite topics either on the main website or via Spotify or Transistor.

Without further ado, here is everything you can expect from a typical podcast from AskGamblers authors

Why listen to their podcasts?

I've listened to almost all of their podcasts, and they generally cover various key areas of the world's most exciting industry.

Some of the popular topics discussed include the latest trends and hottest new releases (e.g., the latest online fruit machines or classic table and card favourites like blackjack and roulette), the legally permitted websites you can play this type of content on, promotions and bonuses, and so much more.

The podcasts are brought to you through the lens of personal experience and unique insight and can last anywhere from 12 to 15 minutes up to usually no longer than 45 minutes. However, on average, I'd say that most of their podcasts last around 20 to 25 minutes.

The information they provide in their most popular podcasts comes straight from the horse's mouth, so I always know they have the most accurate information.

For example, in episode 11, which discusses the KYC (Know Your Customer) process, podcast host Nicky Griffiths is joined by the Money Laundering Reporting Officer at L&L Europe Ltd., Tessa van der Steen.

She discusses the account verification process in greater detail, which some of you will already know is mandatory on many of today's most trusted websites you may have joined.

Tessa also explains the types of documents and personal details that we, as gamers, are required to provide the verification departments with to get our accounts fully activated.

This particular podcast also takes a sneak peek into the future of technology and how it might be used during the KYC process. Key takeaways for this podcast that you can skip to are as follows:

  • 2:44 – What KYC means for the people who join these sites

  • 5:42 – Reasons why certain documents are requested, such as proof of wealth or funds

  • 10:49 – What's likely to happen when registered members fail to comply to have the necessary KYC checks completed

  • 16:29 – A glimpse into the future of KYC procedures, which discusses things like biometrics, facial recognition, and artificial intelligence (AI)

Which other popular podcasts are worth checking out?

It all depends on what type of subjects you want more information about. However, I've found that all of them are worth listening to when you get a bit of spare time.

Some of the major topics their podcasts often cover are online fruit machines, bonuses, and various other new innovations and trends like NFTs and crypto sites.

I've also contributed, and you can, too, simply by suggesting new topics you would be interested in learning more about or guests you might like to hear from.

If you're an online fruit machine enthusiast like me, then you may want to check out the following hot episodes first:

  1. Episode 3: Length: 33:41. Guest: Simon Hammon, CPO at Relax Gaming. Topics covered: How online fruit machines work, with a particular focus on the Megaways engine, Megaclusters, and the network-wide Megapays progressive jackpot

  2. Episode 9: Length: 23:29. Guest: Oleh Moroz, Head of Gambling Business Development at Parimatch Tech. Topics covered: Online fruit machine tournaments, how to participate, prize structure breakdown, basic rules, and more

  3. Episode 5: Length: 28:22. Guest: Henrik Fagerlund, Director, Product Innovation at Evolution. Topics covered: The RTP and volatility of progressive jackpot online fruit machines, when jackpots are most likely to drop, NetEnt's biggest jackpot wins, how the jackpot contribution percentage per wager works, and whether they are suitable for new and experienced players

If you enjoy any of these podcasts, I recommend checking out Episodes 22, 20, 18, 15, 12, and 7 and any others that catch your eye.

Final thoughts

If you want to stay in the loop and get details about the latest exclusive offers, learn how things work on these sites, and learn about other important industry news, trends, updates, releases, and information, I can definitely recommend checking out their podcasts.

You can follow them on all the major platforms, and I've found that the best way to ensure you never miss a podcast is to get notified whenever a new episode comes out.
