  • Words have power. Some more than others. These words in particular can do almost anything.
Rensler said the words and the world ended.
Cabilla said the words and the world started again.
When Graxis and Pandamu said the words together, the Dwarves and Elves came into being.
When Tiana said them, the orcs arose.
Walster used the words to crack the continents and separate the masses.
Glonau sang the words and brought the people together.
The words whispered by Kluon were enough to throw down a kingdom and depose a king.
And just by thinking the words, Bilarug, made himself emperor for a time.
The words are powerful and wonderous, but they are lost and forgotten. Maybe once, twice a millennium they are needed. And once or twice a millennium they must be found again. Whoever speaks the words crafts a fate unknown, but the time has come to find them again. Better you and your friends than The Dark King. But The Dark King has already been looking for one lifetime. Go! Find the words!

  • When a member of the Saffron Brotherhood passes on and is replaced, things start to go bad for the locals.
Your country is under the rule of those known as the Saffron Brotherhood. They dress in elegant saffron robes, befitting their station as benevolent rulers. The 21 members of the Saffron Brotherhood, one for each district, enact and administer the law with wisdom and discernment. It has been this way for generations. As members retire, or otherwise pass from office, the remaining brothers select a replacement from among the population of the appropriate district. Peace and prosperity have been the by-words for ages.
Two months ago, the brother from your district, Schaeffer Dinewell, passed away. Within hours, the brotherhood selected his replacement. Much to the surprise of all, it was Glennan Oakbridge. Glennan owns a shop on the village square where his reputation for sharp dealings is well known. Especially his ability to take advantage of anyone who comes to buy or sell at his counter. Anyone who knows him calls him Glennan the Cheat.
Now, the Saffron Brotherhood seems broken. Their rulings and regulations are questionable. There is a sense of discord among them even on the most modest of pronouncements. Those who have spoken with the brotherhood in person report that Glennan the Cheat sits at the head of the brotherhood dressed in robes of spun gold. The brothers defer to him, even though they have never acknowledged a leader before. They say the brotherhood's chambers feel tense and watchful.
Two days ago, the brotherhood announced they would begin the Great Work. No one knows what it is. The brotherhood decreed that all the youngest children in the country are to report to the halls of the Saffron Brotherhood for work detail. No one knows why. But tomorrow, the carts full of children set out to the capital as instructed.
    What will you do?

  • The players start out tied up in a cave with limited resources and something nasty approaching. You were travelling with your comrades on the road south. As you neared the coast, the carter you paid to transport you suggested stopping for the night. Since the clearing he indicated was small and secure, you all agreed.
You and your companions awaken. There is no sign of the carter or the clearing. Your head rings with a wincing pain you take as a sure sign you are the victim of a drug induced stupor. You attempt to move but discover this is impossible. Your hands are roped behind you around a large wooden post. The knots are secure, but there remains some small freedom of movement. The posts, anchored and unmoving in the floor and ceiling, stands in the middle of a large rocky cavern. You find yourself without equipment, weapons, or armor. Nearby, an over-large cauldron boils away over a fire fed by both wood and some poor unfortunate’s bones. You cough and gag on the noxious fumes rising from it, making the stale fetid air even worse. To your left is a large opening beyond which the caverns continue. Through it you can hear the snarling guttural grunts of approaching creatures. They seem to be speaking their own language. It does not sound pleasant and you eye the seething black cauldron once again. What do you do?
