She is BBC radio's art correspondent and host of 'A Private View with Maeve Doyle' on Soho Radio. Maeve was the owner of the London Gallery, Doyle Devere and was at the helm of Mayfair's infamous Bank Robber Gallery, which was responsible for the sale of Banksy's 'Girl with Balloon'.

  • In today’s episode we discuss the practise of another of our exciting Summer Auction artists Scarlett Bowman. Scarlett's cards, Lots 94/95 are textural, beautifully composed pieces and can be found at artonapostcard.com. Scarlett speaks about her process-led practise, engaging with found materials, minimising waste in art production and the enjoyment of the physical experience of creating works using collage and assemblage to piece together her sculptural works. Scarlett also worked as an actor on Hollyoaks for a while and we discuss how having a multifaceted career can be challenging but ultimately that one's deepest passions will always prevail.

  • Francesca Whitham is Junior Picture Specialist at Dreweatts auction house. With a Master’s degree in the History and Business of Art and Collecting from the University of Warwick she has a breadth of knowledge on art history and collecting, using her research process to auction fine art pieces at one of the worlds leading auction houses. Francesca gives an insight into the process of curating and selling fine art within a competitive market, as well as giving tips for bidding at auction and information on how to register to our Summer Auction.

  • Kev Munday creates colourful utopian worlds and invites the viewer to spend some time living in them. Kev has created artwork for brands including Walt Disney, IKEA, Artfinder and Uni-Ball and his art is collected and exhibited worldwide. He was recently named by the Telegraph as a ‘British artist to invest in right now.'

    Using bold lines and block colours, the vibrancy of Munday’s style creates an enthralling visual experience. In the episode, Rosa Torr speaks with Kev about his process, and the importance in Kev's work to make it accessible for all ages.

  • In Episode 2, Rosa Torr has a chat with the multidisciplinary artist Liorah Tchiprout. Liorah’s work is concerned with belonging, girlhood and the theatrical. Informed by Jewish folklore and the cannon of art history, she is interested in the contemporary relevance of drawing and play. She builds puppet characters to construct her own pantheon from which she draws images. They discuss her inspirations, deriving from a history of Jewish puppetry, and Liorah talks about her unique process.

    Liorah is participating in Art on a Postcard’s upcoming Summer Auction. Her postcard sized artwork is called Blue Magda.

  • Join Rosa Torr for episode one of the series in conversation with internationally renowned artist Lothar Goetz. Lothar’s practice ranges from site-specific wall paintings and room-sized installations to paintings and drawings. His work constantly references architecture and space; his painting is characterised by its use of abstract geometric forms, lines of intense colour, juxtaposed with one another. We talk about his use of colour- and interestingly the politics of using certain colours in certain public spaces- as well as his interest in theatre and architecture.

    In this episode our host Rosa Torr interviews artist Ben Edge to discuss his unique painting practice. Ben’s work focusses on what he calls the indigenous Anglican traditions shrouded in folklore and ancient mythology that celebrates mother earth and where people use costume, dance, music, storytelling, in the tiny pockets of modern society that continue to celebrate those traditions. They discuss how Ben has travelled up and down the country investigating these traditions and has found himself immersed in their practices, his paintings often depict people dressed as plants or ancient mythological creatures, in the settings in which he finds them.
