Joe DiMeo is the recipient of the first successful face transplant and double hand transplant.
Currently 25 years old, Joe lived a pretty normal life, until one morning in July, 2018, he was in a car accident and sustained third degree burns to 80% of his body. After two years of healing, challenging rehab, 20 reconstructive plastic surgeries and skin grafts, Joe underwent the 23 hour experimental transplant surgery in hope for a new trajectory toward function and normality.
Four years later, Joe is living an active life, not without its challenges, but with optimism and independence. And today Joe joins me to share his difficult yet inspiring story.

In 2011, a team of Swedish ocean explorers searching for shipwrecks in the Baltic sea came across a very strange and unexplainable object. Their scanners picked up a large circular structure, seemingly non-natural, 60 meters in diameter and 90 meters deep with a long drag mark following it etched into the ocean floor. This discovery changed the course of their lives, sparking a relentless effort to examine and learn what this object might be, how it got there and how long its been there.
The coverage of this discovery went world wide with the media dubbing it “The Baltic Sea Anonmaly” and even “The Baltic Sea UFO”. It is a really strange and exciting discovery which seems to puzzle all the scientific professionals who examine it.
Is it a natural phenomena caused by volcanic activity? Or a meteor? Could it be man made? The foundations of some kind of building? Or could it actually be as strange as UFO crash site? One thing they do know is the more learn, the more questions that arise.
The team who discovered it is called OceanX, lead by Peter Lindberg and Dennis Asberg. Today I am joining by Dennis, one of the original discoverers of this bizarre mysterious object lying at the bottom of the Baltic Sea.
