Your head was in a daze. Everything had happened all at once. One minute, life on Knowhere was as normal as ever, the next, completely flipped upside down by some golden maniac. You’d watched as Peter and Mantis had discovered Rocket’s limp figure on the floor of the weapons room, evidently gravely injured - your own figure going rigid in a sudden fear as you’d followed in behind them, your gaze meeting the bleary eyed features of your lover, his face paling. It had been a hasty trip to board the Bowie, some weapons not even bothering to be collected as everyone had rushed the raccoon to the ship’s Med Bay, working quickly to stabilize his condition. But there was an unexpected catch - a monumental one. One that if not bothered to be deactivated, the one who calls himself Rocket will die… instantly. But, for now, things are settling down. You’d found yourself almost instinctively wandering towards one of your favorite spots on the ship - a small cot off to the side of the upper flybridge, but still in view of the main expanse of windows. Though as you sit in the quiet with the steady hum of the engines keeping you company, a new sound pricks your attention. Footsteps. Heavy, but lazy - evidently dazed. Moments later, a familiar figure appears, passing you by without even a second glance, coming to a halt in front of the balcony overlooking the main flightdeck below. Gaze wandering the vast expanse of space and headphones in, Peter Quill is completely oblivious to his surroundings, the tinny music bleeding from the headphones a compelling piece of evidence. Even more so as yet another two sets of footsteps from behind you gain your attention, urging a small grin to your lips. Mantis and Drax stand in the hallway, evidently conspiring together on behalf of the sorrowed man standing in front of the three of you. Heck, sorrowed is an understatement. The past few years of Peter’s life have been what some might call hell. You’ve been helping him through it as best as you can be, but sometimes… sometimes… you feel as if you just can’t do enough. And as Drax delivers a surprisingly accurate, semi-comforting monologue to a now aware Quill, much thanks to Mantis’ instruction, the pair take their leave, Peter now realizing your presence. Wordlessly, you offer a small smile and a chuckle, patting the empty spot at your side, scooching over to make room for the lone man in front of you. Though Pete seems to ponder something for a moment before making his way towards you, joining you on the cot, sighing heavily. “If I hadn’t been drinkin’, maybe Rocket wouldn’t-” He mumbles, rolling on his side to face you, tears glistening in his gaze as yet another shaky sigh escapes him. “I’m sorry.” You offer a tight, thin-lipped smile, rubbing your thumb over his cheek, wiping away a loose tear. “There’s nothing to apologize for. We’ll get that passkey. He’ll be fine.” Though your words of reassurance seem to fall on deaf ears, your lover’s cheeks glistening with a few more loose tears, of which you once more wipe away. “Everyone around me dies. My Mother, Yondu, Gamora…” He trails off, an anguished, rather strangled sigh being pulled from his lips as he wordlessly wraps his arms around your torso and pulls you close - almost silently vowing to never let you go. “It’ll be okay, Peter…” You find yourself murmuring into his chest as he detaches his headphones and docks his Zune into the port behind you, the soft melodies keeping the pair of you company as the momentary quiet stretches on. -
Relax and unwind as you take a seat off to the side of the sparsely populated mall, the rain pattering against the skylights above. Along with the rain and the company of the odd passerby for the first while (ends at 30:00), the only other sound keeping you company is the reverbed melodies playing tinnily through the loudspeakers as you sit back... letting yourself get swept away in a sense of n e o n n o s t a l g i a.

You lie in the grass. It is cool, but not cold. The nights are finally warm enough that you can sleep outside at night and watch the stars. Actually, that's what you wanted to do today with Cassian. But you had a fight yesterday. He lied to you. And now you lie here alone and watch the night sky. The only sounds around you are the chirping of the crickets and the light wind in the grass. Suddenly you hear footsteps. Cassian. Dejected, he suddenly stands there and lies down next to you in the grass. He apologizes, puts his arm around you, kisses your forehead and tells you that you can finally get away from here. Then he falls asleep, holding you against him so that you can hear his heartbeat. You feel safe and secure and fall asleep. And above you, the stars are the only witnesses of your love.……………

Maire is rambling a mile and minute again. Having been her friend since college, you know that means she’s nervous. You glance at her through the rearview from the backseat, but she’s focused on the road. With all the snow, it’s a good thing she is.
The new member of your company and the cause of Marie’s rambling stares out the window, ignoring the whole spiel of the surf shop you used to own. You frown at the rudeness. Gradually, Marie takes the hint and fades to silence. Jason finally tears his gaze from the window to look at her.
“And what?”
“What do you mean ‘what’?” Marie snaps. “Listen to me. I’ve been speed talking for about fifteen kilometers now. I talk when I’m nervous–I mean I talk like this when I’m nervous… I’m going to shut up now.”
“No. Don’t do that. I haven’t talked to anybody in awhile.”
“Yeah, but we’re not talking. I’m talking. You’ve said like ten words since we left Zurich.”
Jason shrugs. “Well, I’m listening to you. It’s relaxing.”
You raise an eyebrow at this. A man willing to listen rather than hear the sound of their own voice? A rare breed indeed.
“I haven’t slept in awhile and… I have this headache. It’s like a constant thing inside my head. And it’s just started to move to the background so… keep going.” He smiles and you have to admit it’s kind of adorable. “Really. If you want, please keep talking.”
Then Marie smiles and you can see her cheeks flush pink. You roll your eyes, already feeling like the third wheel in a cheesy romcom. Girl meets boy in Zurich. Boy pays girl a huge sum of money to drive him to Paris. Boy and girl fall in love.
Marie reaches for the radio. “What kind of music do you like?”
Suddenly, Jason seems embarrassed. “Um, you know what, nevermind.”
“No. It's fine. Tell me.” She switches through a few stations. “What do you want to listen to?”
“I don't know.” With each insistence, Jason appears to grow more uncomfortable. Who knew choosing music could be so complicated?
“Come on. It's not that hard. What do you like? Tell me.”
“I don't know,” Jason repeats this time with finality.
The mood killed, Marie turns off the radio and sits in stony silence for a moment.
“Who pays twenty thousand dollars for a ride to Paris?” she finally asks the burning question also on your mind.
Jason is quiet until he throws his hands in the air in surrender and swears. “I can’t remember anything that happened before two weeks ago.”
“Lucky you.”
“No. I'm serious. I don't know who I am. I don't know where I'm going. None of it.”
Marie laughs. “What, like amnesia?”
“Yes.”
“Amnesia?”
“Yes,” Jason repeats just as seriously as the first.
Marie glances at you through the rearview finally, eyes full of disbelief. “Great.”
Girl meets boy in Zurich. Boy pays girl twenty thousand dollars for a ride to Paris. Girl and boy fall in love. Boy has amnesia. Now you really feel like the plucky third wheel in a romantic drama. And they just had their angsty argument scene. You can still feel the tension simmering in the air.
To help it some, Marie chooses the music herself. Classical music fills the awkward silence. Not your usual choice of road trip music, but probably best to soothe Jason’s headache.
After a few hours of this, you decide it’s time for the outgoing best friend to intervene. You barely know Jason, but he seems sweet and available. And Marie seems to really like him. You swing your legs out of your lounging position in the backseat and pop your head between the two young lovers, startling them.
“I’m starving. Let’s get some gas and something to eat, and then I can switch with you, Marie.”
Jason’s stomach seems to agree with your idea, so Marie flicks the turn signal and merges off the highway. There’s a gas station and café not far from here and you have a coffee with your name on it.

Let your mind wander free through any possible scenario while you spend this calm night on Boca Chica beach next to your Comfort Character. With glistening steel rockets to your back, the endless ocean waves in front of you and the vast beyond stretching as far as the eye can see overhead, it's a certain sense of calm that washes over you. Intended as a generic ambience, this video includes the sounds of the ocean waves, some distant traffic and the campfire keeping you and your Character cozy as the comforting darkness settles in. "Voodoo One, Voodoo One. Zero, Nine, Zero. Radar contact fifteen miles. They're doing 500 knots." And in an instant, you find yourself in the thick of a dogfight up against six MiG-28s. But, you know right well that your comrades have your back and you have theirs. Time to put all that training to good use. ……

Let your mind wander free through any possible scenario while you spend this particular rainy evening with your Comfort Character. Intended as a generic sleeping ambience, this video includes the sounds of a heavy rain against the roof of your cabin, wind dancing through the trees outside your window, the crackle of the fireplace keeping you warm. It also contains (beginning at 3:43) some sounds of you and your Character getting cozy as well as soft breathing and a quiet heartbeat. This upload does not contain any music.

A gentle rain patters against the tall, looming floor-to-ceiling windows of the common area of VALORANT HQ. Laptop in your lap and a warm drink in your grasp, you're simply enjoying the evening as a few other of your comrades come and go, with Jett being the first to gain your attention, the stove in the kitchen being ignited and ingredients being prepared. And soon enough, a few others have joined as well, notably the newest recruit, his rather adorable pals in tow. As the evening stretches on and you continue to work away on whatever you're working on, you can't help but allow a sense of calm wash over you - it's nights like these you never take for granted.

Well, not since you and your fellow astronaut had been marooned on this desolate planet, left to fend for yourselves. Which, you would argue, you're both doing quite well in that department. Mark Watney, the botanist you’d somehow managed to get stuck on planet Mars with, had somehow managed to grow potatoes. Yeah - potatoes. On Mars. That’s ridiculous. And you? You’ve been working on a solution to get back in touch with NASA, considering the main communication antenna array had long been smashed to pieces. Pieces that had nearly killed your comrade all those days ago. But tonight, regardless of the raging storm outside, it’s rather peaceful. The wind providing a welcome break from the never ending, eerie silence and hum of the Hab’s life support systems. “It’s time to start thinking long term,” You hear Mark mutter from the desk across the bunk room, the clacking of laptop keys soon following as he continues to work, charting out the course to the Ares 4 landing site and talking to the laptop's camera for the records. You shudder at the mere thought. Who knows if you’ll even be alive by the time they get here. And 3,200 kilometers in a rover barely capable of going a full day of use without a recharge? You sigh heavily, shutting the book you’d been reading with a thud, and grabbing your own laptop, before turning your attention to the roaming search light piercing through the blowing Martian dust and rock. You’ll solve the problems as they come - one at a time. For now… You allow a shiver to run through you as you glance in the direction of where Mark had been sitting, his gaze resting heavily on you, evidently exhausted. But, as he makes his way to his feet, passing you a small smile, you settle back into your bunk slightly, your own fingers beginning to glide over the keys as you simply listen to the storm outside and the comforting sounds of your Partner no doubt rummaging around the kitchen for something to eat before he ends up falling asleep… Murmuring something incomprehensible beneath your breath, you pull the blanket tighter around your shoulders and get to work.
