[note: I quoted/translated extensively from Oswaldo Zavala's Los cárteles no existen: Narcotráfico y cultura en México (2018) because it had not yet been translated yet into English. Subsequently, an English translation has come out]
First entry into a new series on paranoid cinema, and I'm joined by Dmitri (@drposhlost) of Subliminal Jihad to discuss the Sicario films, Sicario (2015) and Sicario: Day of the Soldado (2018). We go through the plots of each film and discuss how they might function as a limited hangout. Among various topics, we talk about Taylor Sheridan and the nature of screenwriting.
Then we discuss the broader Mexican drug war. We talk about the banks, McCoy and Peter Dale Scott, plane crashes and container ships, and then compared the Sicario films to the analysis provided by the book Los Carteles No Existen (The Cartels Do Not Exist) by Oswaldo Zavala, before arriving at the dark truth about the drug war in Mexico.

Reid (@seriations) and Wendy Painting (@BirdWendy2) finish our conversation about Ghostbusters. In this episode, I go through Dan Aykroyd's career, his family history, the history of mediums, sus gurus, and the producer Ivan Reitman.
Then I get into the Simon Necronomicon and the Magickal Childe bookstore and the crossover with themes in Ghostbusters. We attempt to explain the wave of films about psychics in the 1980s as part of the same rightward cultural push and attempt to vindicate the Ghostbusters EPA agent.
Then, to finish, Wendy does a tarot reading for me and Reid. Full disclosure: the first reading was way too accurate and personal to leave in, though maybe I will explain it one day.

Today I'm joined by a special guest, the great Keith Allen Dennis, to continue our discussion about Ryōichi Sasakawa, the world's richest fascist. In this episode, we cover the Liberal Democratic Party, the Three Amigos (Kodama, Sasakawa, and Kishi), the 1955 system, and Sasakawa's ultranationalist ties. We cover Sasakawa's life from the 1950s on through into the 1990s.
This includes his interactions with the Moonies and other cults like waterology, recovering looted war gold, open-air brothels, karate, and the repair of Sasakawa's reputation, such as it is. We go over the "plata o plomo" approach to Sasakawa's reputation laundering, including the long list of casualties of Sasakawa's critics, and ask the question "how much money do you have to give to become a good person?" Finally, Keith Allen Dennis leaves us with a good old fashioned ghost story.

Today I'm joined by a special guest, the great Keith Allen Dennis, to discuss Ryōichi Sasakawa, the world's richest fascist. In this episode, we cover Sasakawa's early life through into the 1950s and 1960s, but largely focus on his pre-war and wartime activities.
Along the way, we discuss Sasakawa's interest in aviation, his legitimate and illegitimate business ventures, his entry into the world of organized crime, and the general ultranationalist milieu. Along the way, Dennis tells us about Moral Rearmament as well as the Moonie connections. Part 2 will cover more of Sasakawa's life from the 1950s on through the rest of his life.

Today I'm joined by Joe from the Deeep Fried Friends podcast for the second of two episodes on the Rote Armee Fraktion aka the Red Army Faction aka the Baader-Meinhof Gang. We examine this group through the lens of the film, the Baader Meinhof Complex. Joe walks us through the second half of the film where the RAF executes a series of increasingly alienating terrorist actions.
We go over the various types of blowback this brought down on Germany and the Left. We discuss the second and third generations which were even more compromised and untethered from the workers and the masses than the first generation. We talk about the film's director and producer and their weird careers, and then get to the meat of how the RAF was undoubtedly manipulated by state actors on both sides.

Today I'm joined by S. William Snider aka Recluse (@RecluseS9) to discuss his third and recent book, The Art: The Secret History of Psywar, Conspiritainment and the Shattering of Reality (2023). The book spans centuries and really speaks for itself, but he and I discuss various things in it ranging from the American Security Council, Edward Lansdale, psychological operations in Hollywood and against the New Left, and we even find time to discuss psychotronic weaponry.
Note: Recluse refers to an upcoming, as-yet-unreleased appearance on P2C, but I didn't splice it out because it would have cut out his train of thought, lol.

Today I'm joined by Anna Krivolapova (@AnaKrivolapova), the author of a short story collection, Incurable Graphomania (2023). These 14 stories include themes of "voyeurism, paranoia, defense contractors, Russian stewardesses, venomous WASPs, and more". We discuss some of her literary, cultural, and paranoiacal influences. Anna reads several passages including an entire story - my favorite from the collection - The Reagan-Blair Manifesto.
Along the way we discuss various themes familiar to listeners of the show, including McGowan and the PTK thesis, video games, school shooters, hypnosis, and a few new topics such as Russian culture, the female and general literary scene, sus international adoptions.
Note: as always for literary episodes, reading the book beforehand is nice but not necessary; let this episode introduce you to her fiction and check out her book.

Today's the second half of the Lake and Ng story, or should I say, the Lake/Ng/Balazs story. I cover their abduction and murder spree, their detection, arrest and capture, and subsequent trial. In this episode, I go through the life of Richard Ramirez, starting with his parents. I discuss Ramirez' early life, and how it was the perfect storm to create a killer. Every factor you can think of played a role. We're talking about radiation, chemicals, crime, child abuse, head trauma, Satanism, drugs, porn, the supernatural, and of course you can't discuss Richard Ramirez without covering his Green Beret cousin and his snuff material.

Today's all about Wayne Williams, perhaps one of the most interesting figures I've ever looked at. I talk about the atypical ATKID investigation, Williams' early life, the Phenix City connection to nearby Fort Benning, the porn connection, the infamous Soledad O'Brien interview, Mitch WerBell III, and the occult connection. The implications are very, very dark.
