We are pleased to present the new, twenty-second episode of the Sonogramma podcast. A mix from Moscow musician, sound designer and creator of the Polysphere label - Roman Nazarov, which releases atmospheric electronic music under the project R.Hz.
The Polysphere label was created in 2019 and focuses on meditative ambient music, deep drone and various experimental soundscapes. The catalog contains several limited releases on vinyl records and digital albums. The podcast will feature tracks by Substak, Lbov, DRGBL5, Seramind, iiney and R.Hz projects.
Sonogramma is a series of music podcasts dedicated to ambient, experimental, electroacoustic, minimalistic music, field recordings and meditative sound practices. После продолжительного периода молчания, мы рады представить новый эпизод подкаста Sonogramma от куратора лейбла SSI Ильи Symphocat. Микс посвящен 15-летию лейбла Симфоническая Тишина Внутри.
Двадцать первый выпуск вобрал в себя композиции от самых разных музыкантов издававших альбомы на Simphonic Silence Inside. Unlogic Thing, Yuri Vinogradov, Retablo, Waveskania, NotNotice, Abjective, Lifeless и Symphocat. В общей сложности 12 композиций создали ощущение эмоционально-музыкального путешествия в бескрайние просторы подсознания.
Российский музыкальный лейбл Симфоническая Тишина Внутри выпускает альбомы Ambient, Drone, Experimental, Contemporary, Electronic music. Проводит программу аудио-визуальных концертов Noiseroom, Drone, Aakt, Градиент, Фонтан и др. Выпускает серию подкастов Sonogramma. Лейбл организует перформансы и шоу-кейсы. SSI был открыт в Ростове-на-Дону в 2007-м году, в настоящее время располагается в Санкт-Петербурге. Серии мероприятий от лейбла проходят на Новой сцене Александринского театра, а также в стенах Музея Звука (Арт центр "Пушкинская-10").

After a long period of silence, we are glad to present a new episode of Sonogramma Podcast from the curator of the SSI label Ilia Symphocat. The mix is dedicated to the 15th anniversary of the label.
The twenty-first podcast incorporated compositions from a variety of musicians who published albums on the Simphonic Silence Inside. Unlogic Thing, Yuri Vinogradov, Retablo, Waveskania, NotNotice, Abjective, Lifeless and Symphocat. A total of 12 compositions created the feeling of an emotional and musical journey into the vast expanses of the subconscious.
Russian music label Simphonic Silence Inside releasing albums of Ambient, Drone, Experimental, Contemporary, Electronic music. Conducts a program of audio-visual concerts Noiseroom. Produces a series of Sonogramma podcasts. The label organizes performances and show cases. SSI was opened in Rostov-on-Don in 2007, and is currently located in St. Petersburg. A series of events from the label are held on the New Stage of the Alexandrinsky Theater, as well as in the walls of the Sound Museum (Art center "Pushkinskaya-10").

В двадцатом выпуске подкаста Sonogramma, посвященного эмбиентной и экспериментальной музыке, выпускаемого от лейбла Simphonic Silence Inside представляем записи фрагментов живых выступлений в рамках концерта “Noiseroom” проходившего в московской Галерее Ходынка в октябре 2021 года.
В подкасте прозвучит совместный шоукейс от московского сообщества Paleolight и лейбла SSI, который вобрал себя лайв-акты от музыкальных проектов Symphocat, July In January x Waldgrenze, Podozritelny Predmet и Accasari. Галерея Ходынка, открывшаяся еще в 1987 году, это известный культурный спот на карте Москвы включающий в себя камерные выставочный и концертный залы. В галерее проходят междисциплинарные выставки и концерты экспериментальной музыки.
Noiseroom (Шумная комната) — cерия аудиовизуальных концертов представляющих срез экспериментальной электроники, эмбиентной и электроакустической музыки, которая берет свое начало в 2014-м году. Концерты «Шумной комнаты» проходят с участием российских, иностранных музыкантов, видеохудожников, перформанс артистов. В составах мероприятий можно видеть как молодых так и состоявшихся деятелей искусств. Идеологию проекта можно описать несколькими направлениями: это развитие российской сцены экспериментальной музыки, приобщение аудитории к современным тенденциям в аудиовизуальном искусстве, взаимодействие с иностранными музыкантами, поиск международного диалога между творческими субкультурами, а также поддержка и представление российских сообществ музыкантов и видеохудожников.

In the twentieth episode of the Sonogramma podcast dedicated to ambient and experimental music, released from the label Simphonic Silence Inside, we present recordings of fragments of live performances as part of the concert “Noiseroom” held at the Moscow Khodynka Gallery in October 2021.
The podcast will feature a joint showcase from the Moscow community Paleolight and the SSI label, which has absorbed live acts from the musical projects Symphocat, July In January x Waldgrenze, Podozritelny Predmet and Accasari. The Khodynka Gallery, which opened back in 1987, is a well-known cultural spot on the map of Moscow, including chamber exhibition and concert halls. The gallery hosts interdisciplinary exhibitions and concerts of experimental music.
Noiseroom - is a series of audiovisual concerts curated by SSI label and presenting a cross-section of experimental electronics, ambient and electroacoustic music, which started in 2014. Concerts are held with the participation of Russian and foreign musicians, video artists, performance artists. In the compositions of the events, you can see both young and established artists. The ideology of the project can be described in several directions: it is the development of the Russian experimental music scene, familiarizing the audience with modern trends in audiovisual art, interaction with foreign musicians, the search for international dialogue between creative subcultures, as well as support and representation of Russian communities of musicians and video artists.

Harold Budd (Гарольд Бадд) — американский композитор авангардной и эмбиент-музыки. Родился в Лос-Анджелесе (Калифорния, США). Его карьера началась еще в 1962 году. В 1966 году он окончил Университет Южной Калифорнии со степенью музыкального композитора. Гаролд известен тем, что разработал уникальный и мощный стиль эмбиент-музыки для того времени, сотрудничал с известными музыкантами. Harold Budd is an American composer of avant-garde and ambient music. Born in Los Angeles (California, USA). His career began in 1962. In 1966, he graduated from the University of Southern California with a degree in music composition. Harold is known for developing a unique and powerful style of ambient music for that time, collaborating with famous musicians. Brian Eno called Budd "a great abstract artist trapped in the body of a musician." The Guardian wrote: "Budd's basic sound consists of yearning piano motifs and impressionism filled with reverberation, often called minimalism. Harold is the heir of the composers Satie and Debussy, his music was refined and poetic...”

In the eighteenth episode of the Sonogramma podcast dedicated to ambient and experimental music, released from the label Simphonic Silence Inside, the curator of the podcast, Ilia Symphocat presents a mix composed of compositions and releases by Finnish ambient composer Olli Aarni.
Olli Aarni is a musician, sound artist, living and working in Helsinki, Finland. His practice ranges from electroacoustic music to sound poetry, from field recording to skateboarding. His works and releases have been published on cassettes, records, CDs, digital releases, as well as in online literature publications, exhibitions and radio features.The tracks that included in the Sonogramma podcast were recorded during the 2010s in a small home studio, with the exception of field recordings, which were recorded by Olli Aarni in various outdoor locations.
Telling more about the recordings, it is worth mentioning the piano composition "Piano Ja Kaiku”, which was recorded in the public library of the Finnish city Tikkurila, Finland using a cassette recorder and a stereo microphone. Other field recordings from the "Vesiä" series are underwater sounds captured using hydrophones and recorded on recycled cassettes without editing. The names of the records, for example "Lofoten 08072016" indicate the location and date of the record. The main purpose and concept of such titles is to be a diary documenting everyday life, as well as trips that Olli has made with a partner.

To get to know the guest of the podcast in more detail, it is worth telling that Artem Markarian is behind the moniker ITSU - a musician who interacts with various forms and many genres of electronic music. Each album of the musician certainly concept and deeply explores the given topics through various emotional and associative feelings. We can say that ITSU creates music in the field of IDM music, where great attention is paid not only to the general shape of each track, but also to the smallest details in the sound. Also characteristic part of ITSU is the use of analog and modular synthesizers in combination with deeply processed field recordings, voices, as well author has perfectionism in the creation of each track.

The song "This night I met Gianluigi Gasparetti", which is the main motive of the podcast, was recorded by the author in one night in the long improvise session. The created musical structure is dedicated to the legendary Gianluigi Gasparetti (Oöphoi), who became, for July In January, a pioneer in Drone music and had a great influence on sound thinking. Also in the podcast there are several tracks from the album "In Memory for Everyone Who Disappeared" released early on SSI label and which was recorded in live improvisational sessions during pandemic 2020.

Место проведения фестиваля Sun Spirit находится в живописном месте ущелья Черкез-Кермен на территории древнего пещерного города Эски-Кермен. Фестиваль вбирает в себя многие духовные практики, наталкивающие на саморазвитие и осознанный образ жизни. На нескольких сценах команда фестиваля собирает широкую палитру музыкантов и творческих инициатив. The venue of the Sun Spirit festival is located in a picturesque place of the Cherkez-Kermen gorge on the territory of the ancient cave city of Eski-Kermen. The festival includes many spiritual practices that encourage self-development and a conscious lifestyle. The festival team gathers a wide range of musicians and art initiations on several stages. This episode of the Sonogramma podcast presents musicians of ambient genres performing on the Atmospheric Stage, curating of which has been supervised by Symphocat for several years.

Mono Tape – музыкальный проект звукорежиссера из Санкт-Петербурга. Автор проекта, Артем Бокша – гитарист, саунд-дизайнер имеющий за спиной опыт работы в музыке и кинематографе. Звучание Mono Tape балансирует на грани монолитного эмбиента и холодного дроуна, создавая обширные саундскейпы при помощи всех возможных трансформаций звуковой материи, обработки входящего сигнала.
В подкаст вошли композиции из альбома “Origin”, вышедший ранее на лейбле Simphonic Silence Inside. "Origin" - это возможность прикоснуться к свету и услышать тихое, едва заметное мерцание воздуха в лучах закатного солнца. In the fourteenth episode of the Sonogramma Podcast, dedicated to ambient and experimental music, from the label Simphonic Silence Inside, the curator of the podcast, Ilia Symphocat, presents to the listener a compilation made up of the compositions of the Russian musician Mono Tape.
Mono Tape is a musical project of a sound engineer from St. Petersburg, created in 2019. Artem Boksha is a guitarist, sound designer with experience in music and cinema behind him. The sound of Mono Tape balances on the verge of monolithic ambient and cold drone, creating extensive soundscapes with the help of all possible transformations of sound matter, processing of the incoming signal.

Кассетный, лоуфайный, цикличный, гулкий, глубокий, отрешенный, чувственный звук, и это лишь часть эпитетов и оттенков, которыми можно описать эмбиент работы гостя.
Художник и музыкант Александр Селиванов многие годы является действующей творческой единицей проживая в Ростове-на-Дону. С середины 90-х, стоял у истоков многих андерграунд течений, издавая кассеты и диски на своем лейбле (ранее известен как проект Mortart). Как художник Селиванов участник российских и зарубежных выставочных проектов связанных с современным искусством. В работе со звуком выбирает метод препарирования и обработки звукового отрезка, кассетные лупы, полевые записи, зачастую на выступлениях исполняет музыку тихо и вкрадчиво.
В компиляцию вошли работы как изданные в цифровом варианте, так и на физических носителях, отрезки записей живых выступлений и селф-релизы. Основу микса составляет альбом “Different Tide” выпущенный на лейбле Simphonic Silence Inside, а также стоит отметить среди остальных коллажей последнюю композицию из микса под названием “K7”, которая по словам автора стала одним из первых опытов взаимодействием с кассетной пленкой.

In the eleventh episode of the Sonogramma podcast from the Simphonic Silence Inside label, the podcast curator Ilya Symphocat will present today a compilation of tracks by the artist and ambient musician Alexander Selivanov, from Rostov-on-Don. Cassette, lo-fi, cyclical, booming, deep, detached, sensual sound, and this is only a part of the epithets and shades that can describe the music of the guest's work.
Artist and musician Alexander Selivanov has been working on a creative projects for many years, living in Rostov-on-Don. Since the mid-90s, he has been at the origin of many underground movements, publishing cassettes and CDs on his label (formerly known as “Mortart”). As an artist, Selivanov participates in Russian and foreign exhibition projects related to contemporary art. When working with sound, he chooses the method of dissecting and processing the sound signal, cassette loops, field recordings, and often at live concerts he performs music softly and insinuatingly.
The compilation includes works published both digitally and on physical, also cuts of live performances and self-releases. The basis of the mix is the album "Different Tide" released on the label Simphonic Silence Inside, and it is also worth noting among the other collages the last track from the mix called " K7”, which according to the author was one of the first experiences of interaction with cassette tape.

За которым стоит медиахудожник и мультиинструменталист Вадим Пантин из Санкт-Петербурга.
Музыкальный проект Abjective возник в 2009 году и задумывался как idm-проект, хотя со временем интересы музыканта расширились от эмбиента до нойза и от авангарда до неоклассики. Музыка Вадима основана на совершенно разных концепциях и подходах к звукозаписи, что наглядно отражается на звучании издаваемых альбомов. В творчестве сходятся чувствительность, трепет и легкость бытия, но и с другой стороны есть преодоление, истерия, сломленный дух, разрушение, смятение, стремление к перерождению. По словам автора, музыка в проекте Abjective подобна беседе о вечности.

Where behind it is standing the media artist and multi-instrumentalist Vadim Pantin from St. Petersburg.
The Abjective music project started in 2009 and was conceived as an idm project, although over time the musician's interests have expanded from ambient to noise and from avant-garde to neoclassical. Vadim's music is based on different concepts and approaches to sound recording, which is clearly reflected in the sound of the published albums. In creativity, sensitivity, awe and lightness of being converge, but on the other hand, there is overcoming, hysteria, a broken spirit, destruction, confusion, breathing for rebirth. According to the author, the music in the project Abjective is like a conversation about eternity.

Simphonic Silence Inside (SSI) was founded in 2007 in the southern city Rostov-on-Don, combining the qualities of a community that unites creative people and develops the local scene and invites foreign artists, a promo group that creates audio-visual concerts, festivals, show cases, as well as a digital label that publishes albums on streaming services from musicians from all over Russia and Europe. The social vector of SSI remains unchanged to this days, the label moved to St. Petersburg, and is based in the art center “Pushkinskaya-10”, and holding concerts of ambient and experimental music in the walls of the Museum of Sound / ESG-21.

Curator and ideologist of the label Zhelezobeton, Artem Kryptogen, will present in the podcast compositions from several releases released under his sub-label Muzyka Voln - a special division dedicated to ambient and drone music.
Zhelezobeton & Muzyka Voln has been operating for many years since 2002 and produces a variety of experimental, industrial and post-industrial music, paying much attention to the Russian scene. For collectors of rare musical artefacts,on the label operates a distribution service with a huge selection of publications from all over the world on various physical media: from CDs, vinyl and cassettes to reel-to-reel tapes, floppy disks and cut records.
The podcast features nine tracks from the russian projects Sphere Rex, Creation VI & Uhushuhu, Neznamo, Anthesteria, Closing the Eternity, Lunar Abyss Deus Organum, Archon Orchestra, Kshatriy, and Exit In Grey. The music of Dimitri Børn (aka Unlogic Thing) is born from silence. This is the most important point of reference from which the trance, psychedelic journey begins. Vibrations trigger the entire emotional range of natural sounds, sometimes barely perceptible, but this is Dmitry and his intended scenario. Everyone will find a different response to their creativity, deep sound design, music for relaxation, for flying into the cosmos.
"It is a great responsibility to write about music, to set landmarks like traps that can stop the listener from reaching their destination, remaining among conventional metaphors and conjectures. Podcast will take listeners on a sound journey through 4 musical universes from artists Sofist, Symphocat, xandr.vasiliev and R.Hz.
Artemy Anrilov will start the program with the project Sofist, which draws its origins in ancient Greek philosophy and atmospheric electronics. The second fragment will be presented by Ilya Symphocat, his live act will be filled with abstract dub, slow and lingering rhythms, where matter seems to break through time and space. Then listeners will be followed by the third musical story from xandr.vasiliev, an adherent of modular synthesizers. The timbral basis of his program is created by prepared piano loops from fragments of works by Ravel and Cage, controlled by modular algorithms, combined with ascetic electronics. The end of the Sonogramma podcast will be a fragment from sound designer Roman Nazarov with the project R.Hz. In the final live, you can hear various granular sounds and field recordings, as well as immersive drone textures.

В течении живого выступления в свободной интерпретации были сыграны как неизданные работы, так и ремиксы на композиции других музыкальных проектов, среди которых Chronos, Art Electronix, Abjective и Invertropol. Программа стала для музыканта продолжением цикла выступлений в после карантинном периоде, где Symphocat представил недавний релиз для длительного прослушивания под названием hEar:01, вышедший в начале сентября.
По словам Ильи, закрытие границ как явление и реальность оказали позитивное влияние на развитие российской музыкальной и художественной сцены. Такая ситуация дает возможность и мотивацию многим молодым, талантливым, аутентичным артистам участвовать в крупных фестивалях, представляющих текущий, актуальный срез, оказывающий влияние на сцену.

In the fifth episode of the Sonogramma podcast, which is entirely dedicated to ambient and experimental electronic music, the podcast curator Ilia Symphocat will present his live performance that was played at the Russian festival Signal, held on the territory of the Nikola-Lenivets art-park, in the Kaluga region.
During the live performance, in a free interpretation were played both unreleased works from Symphocat and remixes on other musical projects, including Chronos, Art Electronix, Abjective and Invertropol. The program was a continuation of the cycle of live performances in the post-quarantine period, where Ilia Symphocat presented the recent release called Hear: 01, which was released in early September.
According to Ilia, closure of borders as a phenomenon and reality have had a positive impact on the development of the Russian music and art scene. This situation provides an opportunity and motivation for many young, talented, authentic artists to participate in major festivals that represent the current, relevant cross-section that has an impact on the stage.

В четвертом выпуске подкаста Sonogramma, который ежемесячно повествует музыкальные илиады в жанре экспериментальной и эмбиентной электроники на CultKitchen Radio, мы познакомимся с компиляцией от российского сообщества Unline, которую скомпилировал его создатель Дмитрий Бёрн.
Unline нельзя назвать емким определением "музыкальный лейбл" в классическом его понимании, ведь на социальных страницах Unline, пользователям не предлагается приобрести разные физические носители с музыкой, да и сообщество не позиционирует себя в сторону активного продвижения артистов. Ответом на первое утверждение можно считать, что то вроде экологической осознанности, а на второе можно взять за константу - скромность. Как говорит создатель сообщества Дмитрий Бёрн, “Музыка ведь сама найдет свое место, время для звучания, а также слушателя. Unline не ведет целенаправленного поиска артистов и все контакты, издания складываются на случайных пересечениях, связях в пространстве. В первую очередь как слушатель я просто собираю каталог понравившейся музыки от знакомых и друзей.”

In the fourth episode of Sonogramma podcast, which narrates musical iliads in the genre of experimental and ambient electronics on CultKitchen Radio, we will get acquainted with the compilation from the Russian community – Unline, which was compiled by its creator Dmitri Børn.
Unline cannot be called a succinct definition of "music label" in its classic sense, because on social pages of Unline, users are not offered to purchase physical releases with music, and the community does not position itself in the direction of active promotion of artists. The answer to the first statement of the community can be considered something like environmental awareness, and the second can be taken as a constant - modesty. As the Creator of the community, Dmitri Børn says - “Music itself will find its place, time to sound, as well as its listener. Unline does not conduct a targeted search for artists and contacts, publications are formed on random intersections, connections in space. First, as a listener, I just collect a catalog of favorite music from friends and acquaintances.”
Speaking of participants in compilation, we can mention the full galaxy of musicians that will be represented, these are projects of Sander Shifter, Vadim Mukhin, Abjective, Arctica, ColorFlower, UOT, Dalila Delarosa, Tezce, Inthem, Valotihkuu, Sergey Hiiri and 語り部. В третьем выпуске подкаста Sonogramma на CultKitchen Radio слушателю предлагается музыкальное путешествие по просторам эмбиента, экспериментала, дроуна и полевых записей. Третий выпуск будет насыщен как медитативным состоянием и оттенками внимания, так и электроакустическими поисками с оттенком индастриала. Куратор лейбла Simphonic Silence Inside, Илья Symphocat, предложит к прослушиванию срез музыкантов и деятелей искусства представляющих разные регионы российской, украинской и иранской экспериментальной сцены.
В компиляции можно будет ознакомиться с работами архангельско-московской группы The Ringing Emptiness, электронного музыканта и саунд-дизайнера Infravert из Тамбова. За ними последуют мастерский коллаж от украинского дуэта Bad News From Cosmos и задумчивый эмбиент от загадочного Brk, информацию о котором не найти в сети.
Середину микса разделят ростовский сессионный проект M.I.N.O.R., живые опусы которого одновременно записывали сразу 4 музыканта (Dreamlock, Symphocat, Aveorm , Vitaly Lalia), саундскейп недавно расформированного украинского дуэта Art Electronix из Кривого Рога, а также южный нойз от 98 Stereomono и лиричный коллаж от художника Александра Селиванова.
В пред-завершение компиляции можно будет услышать композицию от Дмитрия Бёрна, куратора лейбла Unline , ранее выпускающегося под проектом Unlogic Thing, импровизационный филд рекординг коллаж One Peculiar Campfire от ранее упомянутого проекта M.I.N.O.R., который был полностью записан в реалтайме с одного дубля, вокруг уютного костра на природе.
Последними композициями в миксе станут треки от Symphocat из альбома Cncntrt, не раз замеченные в подкастах от Zoviet France, а также композиция иранского эмбиент музыканта и режиссера Hesam Rahmani, которая постепенно перетечёт в полевую запись дождя от Ильи Symphocat.

In the new episode of Sonogramma Podcast, we invite all listeners to a musical journey into Ambient, Experimental, Drone, and Field Recordings. The third podcast will be saturated with a meditative states and shades of attention, as well as electro-acoustic searches with a touch of industrial fields. The curator of the Simphonic Silence Inside label, Ilia Symphocat, will showcase musicians and artists from different regions of the Russian, Ukrainian and Iranian experimental and ambient scenes. In this compilation you can get acquainted with the works of the Arkhangelsk-Moscow band The Ringing Emptiness, electronic musician and sound designer Infravert from Tambov, followed by a masterful collage from the Ukrainian duo Bad News from Cosmos from Odessa and pensive ambient from the mysterious Brk.The middle part of the mix will include the Rostov based project M.I.N.O.R., the live opus simultaneously recorded by 4 musicians (Dreamlock, Symphocat, Aveorm, Vitaly Lalia), which will be followed by the soundscapes of the recently disbanded Ukrainian duo Art Electronix from Krivoy Rog, as well as the southern noise from 98 Stereomono and lyrical collage from Alexander Selivanov. At the end of the compilation, you will hear a song by Dmitri Børn, curator of the label Unline, previously released under the project Unlogic Thing, followed by an improvisational field recording collage “One Peculiar Campfire” from previously mentioned M.I.N.O.R. project, which was fully recorded in real time from one take, around a cozy campfire in nature. Final compositions of the mix include tracks from Symphocat's album called Cncntrt, which was repeatedly supported by Zoviet France, and the works of Iranian ambient musician and director Hesam Rahmani, which gradually flows into the rain field recording from Symphocat.
