  • My guests today are two of my students from the Modern Marketing Collective, Alicia and Jacinta who have built their own business, ‘The Little Potion Co.’. Alicia and Jacinta are sisters from Melbourne who create mindful potion kits for children that support their emotions and empower them to be confident and find their inner magic.

In this episode, we talk about the practicalities, thoughts and feelings behind Jacinta leaving her corporate job, Alicia closing her other business, the challenges and wins, and how their business has grown over the last few years.

Amazingly, they started their business with only $500 each and then used their profits to reinvest and grow the business. We explore their marketing, hiring new staff and the new strategies they’re incorporating to see their business reach new audiences.

Jacinta and Alicia’s business journey is inspiring to all entrepreneurs, especially those just starting out and wondering how they’ll manage both their day job and this exciting new opportunity. Their dedication and faith have paid off in a wonderful and successful business that will continue to grow and create so much wonder and joy for children.

  • One of the things my clients have in common is a desire to create more freedom in their business. They want more flexibility for family, to pursue other interests, and enjoy life without being restricted to a rigid schedule.

Do you want the same thing?

In this episode, I’m sharing 5 ways to create more freedom as a solopreneur. First, I share a bit about what a solopreneur actually is and then dive into how to create that flexibility we all desire.

I talk about simplifying your offerings, using technology to help establish boundaries, and the benefits of outsourcing and using contractors. I discuss minimal, viable marketing and how many business owners are busy doing the easy work instead of focusing their efforts where they need to. I also talk about the importance of taking time off work for fun and how this contributes to you being more refreshed and productive in your business.

These 5 tips are things that I have honed in my business and helped me create a smart, lean, and simple business with more revenue. I teach you how to do this and so much more within the Modern Marketing Collective - check it out!

  • “I’m feeling so flat today. I'll need at least 3 coffees before having enough energy to make any content”

    Sound familiar?

It’s a common thought that when you’re showing up online you have to be super pumped, full of excitement and full of energy.

But I’m here to tell you that’s simply not sustainable. It’s impossible for us to be feeling on top of the world every single day.

So in this episode, I’m sharing what to do when you just don’t feel like showing up. I used to think I had to feel amazing and it wasn’t until I went through some very difficult times when the last thing I felt was full of energy that I learned you can show up no matter how you’re feeling.

All you need is a belief in and a passion for what you’re selling and your audience will find value in your content. Your audience might have just needed that one more push to purchase from you.

    So keep showing up!

  • Are you struggling to connect the dots between making your offers available and people actually wanting to buy them?

You’ve got a website, a whole bunch of offers, you’re posting content and you might even have an email list, a lead magnet and landing pages.

You’ve learned what you thought were all the “business”’ things you needed.

But these aren’t what create demand and make people buy from you. For any of these things to work, you need to establish the core simple fundamentals first.

In this episode, I’m diving into how to market your offers so your audience really want them. It’s not about telling people the details of what you’re selling but about knowing your client, their needs and desires and effectively communicating how YOU can solve their problems.

To make real connections that convert to sales, you need to transition from selling the functional details of your products and services to selling the RESULTS. Stay tuned toward the end as I share some questions to ask yourself to help make this shift in your business.

Get to work on being intentional, not offering everything to everyone but simplifying and actually marketing what you have in a way people WANT to buy from you.

  • Do you have a really effective offer ecosystem in your business?

In this episode, we’re discussing the importance of your offer ecosystem. I’ll explore exactly what this means, what happens when you don’t have it in place in your business, why you need it, what it looks like, and what happens when you have it in place.

I’m so excited to be talking about this topic as it can make such a huge difference for your time, skills, sales and confidence. By creating a targeted and clear offer ecosystem, you’ll build your expertise and clarity in exactly how you can help your clients and become known in your industry.

I’ll run you through how to do an audit and create intentional offers that serve you and your clients. Selling will become much easier because everything you offer is compelling and clear and you’ll no longer have to run a ‘bitzer’ business.

You can look forward to working less and earning more - so what are you waiting for?

  • What comes to mind when you consider success and failure?

In this episode, I’m discussing how to build momentum in your business and what to do if you’re struggling. Momentum is not about winning every time. It is built during the times when things are not working and it is completely dependent on how you respond.

I’m often asked how I maintain my momentum building my business and reach success. It all boils down to staying committed to the process and releasing myself from the outcome.

I’ll run you through questions to consider to reflect on how you can build momentum when you’re in the middle of road bumps. Just keep going - keep showing up for yourself and your business and you’ll come out the other side.

I’m also sharing some very exciting news about my next Winter Edition of the Elevate Business Retreat! I’ll discuss all of the amazing inclusions and what you can expect when you attend as a member of the Modern Marketing Collective.

  • My guest today is the amazing Prue Simmons from Dying to Weave. Prue is a member of the Modern Marketing Collective and has lived her life by following her true passions and embracing life as it pivots and changes to build a successful business with incredible growth.

Prue started working in the environmental industry as a zoologist and travelled across the world, she then went on to host her own radio show and is now running a very successful business, Dying to Weave, as a Saori weaver from her lama farm in Victoria.

She has become one of only 3 people in Australia accredited to teach a uniquely Japanese style of meditative weaving, Saori. She has definitely embraced a super niche!

People from all over the country come to her weaving workshops, join her membership and attend the weaving retreats and immersions each year!

In this episode, Prue is sharing her journey through previous careers, her self discovery travels, her experience in the Modern Marketing Collective and starting and growing her own business. She has had tremendous success and has even paid off her mortgage, reached 6 figures and lives a life that truly lights her up.

  • Do you believe that your success is inevitable?

Your belief in your vision is the only thing you truly need to get started. Everything else flows from there, including the ‘how’.

This episode will inspire you to dig deep to examine the beliefs you hold about yourself, your business and your offerings. If you’ve been talking about starting a business, you’re just starting out or you want to take your business to the next level, it all comes down to your belief.

I discuss the relationship between your belief in what you have to sell and how this will flow through into your marketing, pricing, language and energy when it comes to selling. I share an example of when I invested into my own business and a case study from a client within the Modern Marketing Collective about how our beliefs shape our actions.

Once you’ve listened to this episode, take the time to write some thoughts down to help you uncover your beliefs.

Think about where you’re at and where you want to be. What is holding you back?

What makes your offer the best option for your ideal customer?

  • What does power mean to you?

Today’s episode is from a live conversation I held on Instagram for International Women’s Day with Kemi Nekvapil. Kemi is one of Australia’s leading coaches for female entrepreneurs, an author and an incredible international speaker. Her mission is to help women to own their worth, find their power, and use their voices.

Kemi discusses her book ‘Power: A woman’s guide to living and leading without apology’. We all have power and Kemi breaks it down into her 5 key principles; Presence, Ownership, Wisdom, Equality and Responsibility.

The theme for International Women’s Day is ‘Break the Bias’ but we also have to break the bias in our own heads. Don’t wait for others to give you permission. Use the opportunity to be present in your life, take ownership over your path, sit with wisdom, know that you are equal to everyone in the room, and be responsible for your own privilege.

Kemi shares her personal stories openly to illustrate her principles and how they have impacted her life. She is truly inspiring to listen to and I’m so grateful to be bringing you this incredibly important conversation.

To take ownership of your power, grab a copy of her book today!

  • How can we become more consistent with our marketing?

I get this question all the time. I know it can feel so exhausting and overwhelming to keep coming up with quality strategic posts that aren’t just superficial or surface level. But if you implement and plan your strategy, you'll be far more likely to stay on top of your content and keep showing up for your audience.

In this episode, I’m discussing practical ways to help you increase your consistency. I’ll also share the shift I made personally that has helped me immensely with staying consistent.

It all comes down to what consistency actually means to you. Is it 1 post a week? Emailing your audience once a month? When you bring clarity to exactly what you want to aim for, enacting a plan becomes so much easier.

I’m here to help you map it all out! Without the need to wait for those magical days when you’re feeling 110% and ready to leap out on the camera.

    Enjoy!

  • Have you ever wondered if you can make a business out of your hobby?

In this episode, I’m chatting with the remarkably creative Debbie Holland. Debbie is the owner and founder of Little Bikkie Sugar Craft, a small business that has evolved and grown rapidly since its humble beginnings in Debbie’s home kitchen in 2019.

Debbie loved cookie decorating as a hobby and since taking the plunge to create her business has managed to turn her pastime into an incredible success. Her business grew unbelievably quickly to reach more than a quarter of a million dollars in revenue by the end of its first full financial year!

Debbie made the leap to scale her business by creating online classes, recipes and even became one of Australia’s top stockists for cookie decorating products - even with a fear of technology!

We’re exploring Debbie’s origin story with Little Bikkie, her decision to move into the online educational space, her biggest challenges, the lessons she learned from Scalable, and her first amazing launch.

Debbie’s story is truly inspirational and will speak to everyone who is weighing up whether their ‘hobby’ is worth pursuing into a business.

  • Welcome back in 2022! I’m so excited to be bringing you the very first episode of the year.

As business owners, we always dedicate January to setting our intentions and to map out the year ahead. By chatting with my clients, I have found that many women have trouble setting their financial goals for their businesses because they’re just not motivated by money.

This often leads them to not meet these goals because they never really felt the drive to earn more. It can almost feel unsafe and uncomfortable to be earning more and more money.

In this episode, I’ll discuss the research and societal conditioning that has led women to have less of a drive to make money than men. We’ll reframe our thinking by exploring the relationship between money and value. By focusing on the value you want to deliver to your clients, you can find motivation in a completely different way.

I’m also thrilled to be sharing with you my new program! After the episode, head over to my website (links are below) to register right now to take advantage of this amazing opportunity.

  • In this episode, I share four practical ways to help you fast track your ability to be seen as an expert in your industry.

I talk about building your content, going more in-depth to really add value to your audience, challenging yourself to be visible, and being brave enough to have an opinion on topics within your industry. I also discuss being your own PR person, going after things that make you more credible AND sharing these things with your audience.

Many business owners sell themselves short because they don’t know it ALL. But the mindset shift that will change this is going from thinking you have to be THE expert to being AN expert.

I also share the final offer from my 3 week End of Year Extravaganza... Stay tuned to find out the details!
