For the recovering perfectionist, "self-care" is a word that can carry a lot of heavy energy and pressure. You want to take good care of yourself, but it can be hard when you're being constantly bombarded by unrealistic expectations of what self-care looks like and you've already got a lot on your plate. Is self-care really the answer to all of life's problems, and if so, how do you approach it in a way that is sustainable and nourishing for us as HSP's? That's what we're exploring in episode 11 (a very spiritual, intuitive and life-affirming number by-the-way!)
In this episode, you'll learn:
the real reasons why you seem to struggle so much with self-care how perfectionism gets in the way of consistent self-care routines why you may be avoiding self-care (& what you miss out on if you do) the root driver of poor motivation, willpower and "falling of the wagon" lessons that I learned as a HSP when I committed to a daily rest practice. With this episode, I intend for you:
feel validated in knowing that the pressure you feel to perform "perfect" self-care is normal and it's not your fault. put your mind, body and heart to feel at ease with life lessons around rest and self-care that go deeper and heal. be encouraged and empowered to give daily rest, relaxation and self-care a try just to see what happens in your life.Want more on this topic? I'm hosting a 5-day Learning Series on the Nourished Sensitive Newsletter for HSPs who want to learn step-by-step how to take better care of themselves in a sustainable and nourishing way.

When internalized, shame is a powerful and painful emotion that can have a profound impact on human health & well-being. In this episode, we explore the holistic impact that shame has on our health, the ways it shows up in our relationship with food and body, and how shame shapes the way we view and take care of our bodies.
In this episode, you'll learn:
why dieting works against your health as a HSP how shame contributes to comfort & binge eating why you might hold on to weight or lose your appetite. the root cause of poor body image & body dysmorphia the real story behind your "lack of motivation" for self-careWith this episode, I intend for you:
experience more conscious awareness around internalized shame and how it impacts your health and well-being as a sensitive human. feel empowered to heal internalized shame so you can experience a positive relationship with food and your body and create good health. find the right support to help you nourish yourself should you feel that you need it.
Trigger Warnings: this episode includes some discussion and exploration of potential root causes of disordered eating and eating disorders, body dysmorphia, health challenges and some of my personal experiences with these topics. We talk about real-life experiences of shame which can carry a "heavy" emotional energy, and may trigger intense or uncomfortable emotional thoughts, feelings, or memories within you.As you listen to the episode, notice if anything becomes too heavy for you. You can pause at any time. Take care of yourself, always.

How do we prevent fear of shame and vulnerability from silencing our authentic voice as HSP's? That's what this week's episode on shame & authenticity is about.
We live in an time where social media and the internet allows us to communicate and connect on every topic, everywhere, with anyone, at any time.
That’s a LOT of human interaction! 🥵
It's not uncommon for conflict and hurt feelings to arise in such an environment, and to feel really uncomfortable when the finger gets pointed at YOU 👉.
This experience came up in a conversation that I was having in a soulful online HSP Community when an HSP shared an experience of online conflict, and asked for support around the feelings that came up: shame, fear and vulnerability.
I shared my personal wisdom and resources with the group, and thought that it would make a great conversation for the podcast (as well as practice for the soul circle I'm hosting in the Sensitive & Soulful Membership community this week on the topic of Overcoming Shame as HSPs.)
I believe it’s so important that as sensitive people, we work to heal toxic shame while also learning the lessons that authentic shame is here to teach us.This week's episode is for anyone who wants to work on coming out of hiding 🐢, healing undeserved shame and using their voice again.
HSPs, who want to learn the lessons that authentic shame is here to teach us so that:
HSPs can be their most authentic selves again. HSPs can focus more on what HSPs gotta' do. HSPs can conserve our precious time & energy. HSPs feel nourished as healers & leaders. HSPs can be the change we wanna see in this🌎That's essentially my mission at The Nourished Sensitive, so if you feel called to do this inner work, at this time (or soon), I encourage your listen.

We live in a world that can be deeply triggering, toxic, and even dissociating. It's no wonder we struggle to heal ourselves. We also live in an age where we're constantly bombarded ,overstimulated and overwhelmed with "solutions" to all of our "problems" in the form of endless paid coaching programs, self-help books and podcast after podcast.
how pain & discomfort often accompanies true healing. how physical healing mirrors emotional & spiritual healing. experiences I had at the start of my HSP healing journey. inspiring stories from HSPs who understand healing. the soothing power of nature for healing journey's why I believe coaches should empower HSPs as self-healers.
It's my mission at The Nourished Sensitive to be part of the change that encourages HSPs to use their gifts to heal themselves and to provide the space, essential resources and supportive guidance for them to do so.
