    Planning is the process of thinking about the steps needed to achieve a goal. This can be a goal as small as repainting a piece of furniture or as large as buying a home. No matter the goal, if you start by planning it out you will create a cascade of benefits in your life including: reduced stress and a higher likelihood of following through. As we often say, "Planning is always the first step." Which is why we are such big fans of planning your week before it starts.

    When you become a parent or caregiver, there are so many things you have to do to keep your charge alive, that it becomes a habit to put their needs first. However, at some point, your kiddo becomes more self-sufficient and you might find yourself doing things out of habit that you no longer need to do. It can be hard to shift out of that "baby first" mindset and put yourself first. You "should" on yourself, "but I should do bake cupcakes from scratch for the whole class even though I hate baking" or "I should spend all my time on their needs" or "I should attend this birthday party when my schedule is already full". STOP SHOULDING ON YOURSELF. We talk more about this on this episode.
