Alternatives were the only asset class to continue to show sequential revenue growth in Blackrock’s Q3 update in April 2020. Since COVID-19 fears caused stock prices to collapse in February 2020, some of the strongest outperformers have been fund administrators, particularly those that focus mainly on fast-growing alternatives such as private debt, real estate and private equity.
