A hidden gem in a bed of rocks, Sammanika is a trailblazer in her own right. One of our young blooded Calcuttan Shankharit Chakraborty sat down by the fireside to have a candid discussion on the how, where and when of being able to play a number of roles that Sammanika plays.
Who's Sammanika? here's her Linkedin Bio:
" am an Internationally Certified Career Coach and Internationally accredited Mediator. I graduated from NUJS, Kolkata and have worked in the Banking and Infrastructure Projects sector with big clients like CIDCO, Mumbai Metro, Ministry of Shipping etc., as a corporate lawyer, and have been a proud environmental activist at the grassroots level. I love creative thinking and have been the Think Tank head of Uttarakhand's strongest student-run-peer pressure group - Making A Difference by Being the Difference. Recently, I was recommended for Indian Army-JAG Branch (25th Batch) from SSB Centre Bhopal. During lockdown, I took the challenge to help Lawsikho learners with getting internship opportunities, more clients and finding their dream jobs. There, in total I assisted more than 100+ recruiters with 450+ skilled profiles. Mentorship, for me, is far more than just a rigid set of rules. I believe in quality over quantity and hence I prefer transforming one life at a time. So far, I have personally mentored more than 650 law students and 50+ lawyers (PQE 0-14 years). Known for my people's skills, I was offered the position of Chief People's Officer at Lawsikho. However, Quality Mentorship being my keen area of interest and expertise, I decided to limit my scope of work to mentoring law students and professionals and there I left my high paying job to start independent Legal Career Coaching. Other than first to fifth year law students and post graduate law students, my pool of mentees included Army officers, Army wives (law graduates), senior in-house lawyers working in the Cement industry, in SaaS companies, in law firms etc. Places where my mentees have secured opportunities include- Morgan Stanley, CAM, Trilegal, L&L Partners, Vaish Associates, Amicus Services, GEP, Spice Route Legal, Fox Mandal, Dhir & Dhir Associates, Samvad Partners, Ernst & Young, HSA Advocates, SVF Entertainment, Panag & Babu etc.
Love and Light Sam"
