With a rich background in research, Microbiologist Kiran Krishnan co-founded Microbiome Labs with Dr. Tom Bayne. On the observation that numerous supplement companies had very little sufficient clinical data, Kiran set out to develop trials that were more accessible and relevant to the supplement industry. Eventually, he opened up the door to product development, and later, probiotics – which sprouted the company he supports today. Since then, they have reinvested operational profits into research. Subsequently this has raised the bar for other companies to follow suit in creating and believing in a product that makes sense, not just purely for profit.
During this episode, Kiran dives into the approach his company uses – and why it makes sense. This includes discussions on their method of creating micro-fermentations, adding nutrients to substrates, and developing different enzymes, vitamins, and prebiotics necessary for a healthy gut microbiome. He helps us better understand how our microbiome plays a role in age-related degeneration while providing solutions to the symptoms and deficiencies created by the modern diet.

From then on, Dr. Yu knew he could reinvent the wheel by bringing a whole-body approach to rheumatology.
Dr. Yu shares his journey as a patient and physician, explains how nutrition relates to autoimmune disease and the underlying root causes of autoimmunity, and talks about what happens to patients when they cannot find the right treatment for them.
