El Padre Maza nació en La Habana, Cuba en 1945, es ciudadano de la República Dominicana, país que conoce desde 1967.
El Profesor Maza trabajó en la Parroquia Domingo Savio de los Guandules y en el Seminario Santo Tomás de Aquino por más de seis años.
Se doctoró en historia, en Georgetown University (1987) y es también Licenciado en humanidades (Fordham Univ., 1967), licenciado en Teología Fundamental, con estudios en la Universidad de Lovaina (1972, Bélgica), Loyola University (1974, Chicago) y la Pontificia Universidad Gregoriana (1975, Roma).
Desde 1987 el Padre Maza es profesor-investigador en el Recinto Santo Tomás de Aquino de la Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra, institución que ha apoyado sus investigaciones desde 1987. Desde 1983 es también profesor de historia en el Instituto Pedro Francisco Bonó de la Compañía de Jesús en Santo Domingo. El Dr. Maza fue durante más de doce años miembro del equipo editor de la revista Estudios Sociales en la cual aparecieron sus ensayos sobre la Iglesia y la sociedad cubana.
En agosto del 2012, el P. Maza fue enviado a Santiago de los Caballeros. Allí continúa sus labores en la PUCMM, ahora como profesor asociado. superior del Centro Bellarmino y coordinador de las labores de unos 9 jesuitas que trabajan en el Cibao. Los martes, publica una columna sobre historia de la Iglesia en el Listín Diario, "Peregrinando a campo traviesa" (inició en enero del 2014) y continúa la sección "Desde los Tejados" los domingos en el Hoy (inició 8 de junio, 2008). -

He has not just explained, he also wrote how you can systematically follow the path of Yoga and start to control your mind then use all its potential.
