It’s Baltimore, 2022. Adnan Syed has spent the last 23 years incarcerated, serving a life sentence for the murder of Hae Min Lee, a crime he says he didn’t commit. He has exhausted every legal avenue for relief, including a petition to the United States Supreme Court. But then, a prosecutor in the Baltimore State’s Attorney’s office stumbled upon two handwritten notes in Adnan’s case file, and that changes everything.

The trailer for Voyage Media's newest true crime series, Borderline. In 1985, in Texas, Jayson Woodward stepped outside of her home and was abducted, raped and held hostage. She managed to escape her assailant, who fled but was captured right on the border. He would later be kidnapped by three unknown armed men from a Mexican jail and returned to Texas. And that's not even the half of this extraordinary true crime saga. Hosted by Paget Brewster (Criminal Minds).

THIS IS A CASE UPDATE. PLEASE LISTEN TO ‘SEASON 5 - EPISODES 13 & 14’ FOR MORE DETAILS.
PC Andrew Harper was killed while on duty only four weeks after his wedding. The three people involved in his death were tried at the Old Bailey for murder. Following the trial, towards the end of July 2020, Henry Long, Albert Bowers and Jessie Cole were acquitted though they would each be facing time behind bars as they were either found guilty of or admitted to a charge of manslaughter. Long received 16 years with an extended licence period of 3 years. Bowers and Cole received 13 years detention in a Young Offender Institution. However, Bowers and Cole were now going to fight to have their convictions for manslaughter overturned, and all three believed their sentences were “manifestly excessive” and should be reduced.
This case update follows what happened next...

The publication in June of a special, one-off printed edition of the Newsletter was intended little treat for St Elwickians but judging by the backlash it's had it has been received as anything but. Please find within a response to the multitude of questions and complaints the edition raised. I really don't think I should have to be doing this at all and frankly I've got better things to be doing with my time but the rest of The Committee insists so here we are.
Malcolm Durridge, Editor-in-Chief of the Newsletter in whichever form it goes out in and who does it thanklessly.

Defense attorneys offer alternate theories to explain Korey Kauffman’s death, and the trial becomes an endurance test. As Frank Carson’s health deteriorates, he wonders whether he will live to see a verdict. After more than a year in trial, defendants fear that the jury might give up, forcing a mistrial — and that this is exactly what the DA wants.

Frank Carson and his co-defendants confront the charges against them. The government cites years of Carson’s supposedly authority-hating behavior and his “behavioral control issues.” Interviews and wiretap recordings explore how Carson’s wife and stepdaughter, an art student, came to be wrapped up in the case. And former California Highway Patrol Officer Walter Wells endures jail.

After a three-year investigation, Frank Carson and his co-defendants are arrested, accused of a complicated murder-and-coverup conspiracy. Introducing Frank Carson, Stanislaus County’s most controversial defense attorney, famous for his high-profile courtroom victories and take-no-prisoners style.
