We found Sam Morrison's Baseline Conversation on Instagram in late December 2023. We saw a guy telling stories about learning to play tennis while he rallied balls against a wall. A week later, Sam had amassed thousands of followers who have connected with his earnest story-telling and his developing game. Now he is championing a message of persistence and inclusion that we love to see in the culture.
Sam dialled into Forty Forty Radio from his hometown of Phoenix Arizona to talk through his frankly unbelievable family sporting heritage, what drew him to tennis in his 20s, representation in the sport, and his plans to carve out a space for more people to enjoy the game.
Follow @baselineconversation on Instagram and watch Sam grow. Or, give him some unsolicited coaching tips if that's who you are. While you're on Instagram, visit us to go into the draw for a free limited edition art print.

The holiday season is fast approaching and now is the time to procure the gifts for the ones we love. Tennis culture invites a wide spectrum of potential gifts, however, we think that much of the gear itself is too expensive and too personal for gifting. And so, herein we enclose our guide to gifting for the tennis lover in your life (or for yourself).
Our list is a range of items that we either already love, or covet, all from an accessible price-point befitting the times (except for one big splurge item courtesy of D.S & Durga). We hope that you enjoy and that you will give us the gift of rating and subscribing to the pod.
You can find Forty Forty via our website (https://www.fortyforty.club) and on Instagram @fortyfortyhittingclub.
Good luck as you head into the holiday period!
