An electric car lobby group is taking Transport Minister Simeon Brown to court over his decision to lower tailpipe CO2 emissions standards for car imports. The Better New Zealand Trust said it was unreasonable of Brown to direct his transport officials to consult only four motoring groups - all of which were against the standards - before making a decision.Who is the man who has just been named as the new public service commissioner, Sir Brian Roche will begin his new role on 4 November and he will serve for two years and eight months, until 30 June 2027.Rural groups are raising the alarm over the review and cancellation of school bus routes. Health NZ wants to cut four chief medical officer roles. Health New Zealand (HNZ) wants to reduce the number of chief medical officers, from 18 to 14 nationwide, while also promising not to cut front-line medical roles. Joining us tonight LIVE is Dr. Gary Payinda, an emergency department doctor who explains "the CMO is the doctor (usually highly respected) that helps handle patient complaints, staff crises/discipline, investigates errors, leads doctor education and competency, and provides doctor input and medical leadership for the hospital."

Letele told the Herald he could no longer sustain the costs of running the foodbank. He broke the news of the closure to staff this morning. The operation, which received $87,000 of Government support but was distributing more than $500,000 worth of kai, will wind down to Christmas and then close down for good.Breakfast this morning hosted Ginny Anderson and Chris Bishop who debated who good and/or bad the economy was after opening the books and how to include the transgender community in local sports.
