  • You're about to watch or listen to me coaching Scott and Kate. Kate has an extraordinary track record of success behind her. She is known by and trusted by several world leaders. And she is in her head about how she can get them as coaching clients, so I snap her out of it. And I tell her 2 things:

One, your need to have fear and doubt is a sign you are working with the caliber of people you need to work with. And two, it's a sign that you're in your head.

Scott has a background in the corporate world and a track record of success. I have to snap him out of one thing in particular, referring to himself as a new coach, and I slow him down to the power of a single conversation which will change everything for him.

I'll see both of them at the intensive that's coming up. And if you're interested, come and join us, too, because it's where we get to do the energetic work around creating clients that you can't always capture in the nuance of a recording or a piece of writing. I'll see you soon.

    Enjoy!

  • In this episode, I coach two clients on how to achieve their goals. Mary Grant is a successful fashion entrepreneur looking to transition into coaching. The other client, David Watson, is a successful consultant who wants to grow and make a bigger impact.

The one thing we have in common is that we all want to find our ideal clients. I believe the key to do that is to understand their psychographics, not just demographics.
Psychographics are the client's values, beliefs, and motivations.

So the conversation develops around this concept.

  • Today I'm coaching Dave and Michelle. Both of them are coming to the live, in person Intensive in Santa Fe, and they're already signed up for the virtual intensive, too. They didn't know each other, and I didn't know Dave. Michelle I've worked with in the past. She's been at previous intensives.

And today, it turns out (we didn't know this) that the very tool that would support Michelle the most is also a powerful tool for Dave. It's a really powerful tool for long-term client creation called Research Project, and you'll hear 2 different ways it can be applied in this particular conversation.

I had fun, and it was powerful in its simplicity. Within about 17 min we were complete.

  • This time around, I did something different with the podcast.

I brought 2 people to talk with: Linley who had worked with me in the past, and Sarah who's never worked with me. They don't know each other and the 3 of us never spent time together, but I thought this would be fun.

One of the reasons I'm doing this is that both of them are signed up to come to the next Intensive in a few weeks.

I love doing this kind of stuff. I love working with coaches on how to build their business.

So naturally, we played around one simple question: how can I help you create your next client?

  • Today's episode features the Master Coaching with Ajit podcast. On this episode Ajit Nawalkha and I have a conversation about entrepreneurship, coaching skills, and building a successful coaching business. In order to thrive in the coaching industry, you must put in effort for a long period of time before feeling like it is working. Wishing for instant recognition without putting in work first is not how things are done, but the ones who persist are the ones who become masters.

  • Anu is a consultant to high-level organizations and their leadership teams. She's an incredible woman who has literally been a leader since the age of 6. But right now she is holding back from telling these leaders what they REALLY need to hear.

So, I have to step into leadership myself.
I need to model for her the power of saying, "Here's what I require of you..." By the end of the conversation we are both fully energized.

Sometimes being on mission is scary. But you've got this. Not everyone needs to like you. But you need to speak truth to power. That's how we change the world.

In today's episode you'll also learn about Transition Excellence—a past program for high-level leaders who want to be high-level coaches and consultants.

  • When we get in our car, we pay attention to the dials in front of us. Is the check engine light on? How's the tire pressure? Do I need gas? Or we don't pay attention... I got a speeding ticket the other day because I didn't keep my eyes on the speedometer.

In this episode from our top 10, I am coaching an extraordinary woman called Nikki. She's a diversity consultant, a coach and a musician.

And she is hitting a ceiling on the level of her success that she perceives as a tension between who she thinks she is and who she is becoming.

What's actually happening is that she is up-leveling her life and business — but she is still living based on some outdated measures of success.

I help Nikki create some new metrics for success. As you listen in, I invite you to create some new metrics for your own next level of success.

  • A client of mine runs a multi-million-dollar business. She’s respected by everyone in her field, yet she once said to me, “I could do this with my eyes closed. I want something more.”
And then she went on, “I’m not lonely, but I’m very alone. There’s no one else I dare share this with but you.”

One challenge of being a high performer is that you can be surrounded by people whose only mission is to say “yes” to you, who want to make you feel good, or say what they think you need to hear.

Oh this was fun! You see, in this top 10 episode, I start to chat to Ervine before we hit record and she makes a little joke about me mistaking her for a high-performer. I immediately ask if I can start recording because I want to illustrate something important.

Marianne Williamson captured it in her poem: "Our deepest fear is not that we are weak. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us."

Too often, I see leaders fighting for their limitations. And that's always when I jump in.

Ervine is a fascinating woman with a background in high-level sales. She has had a successful career that was built one relationship at a time. When I ask her how many coaching clients she wants, she is a little surprised to realize that it is no more than 12 clients a year.

In this episode you'll hear me break down 5 of the top ways to build a word-of-mouth business. Masterclasses, other people's communities, former networks, referrals and creating your own community.

When you are remarkable, it literally means that people remark about you. They talk about you when you are not there. That is the platinum standard for any business. Listen in as I teach you how to make your business remarkable, too.

  • As a coach, one of the gifts you can give extraordinary high performers is to create the safety for them to really speak their truth.

In return, to have the kind of coach who is willing to hide nothing and hold nothing back, is a very unique experience for extraordinarily high performers.

The team at WBECS invited me to give a presentation about coaching high performers.
Well, I don't 'teach' and I don't do 'presentations', I told them. But I do coach. We're in. They said. So that's what I did. I coached.

And I drew out some powerful distinctions from an extraordinary high-performing woman.

    Here we are...Enjoy!

  • If your life was to be translated into a series of books, they would be filled with ups and downs, relationships, and experiences, good or bad. You, the main character, would be on a search for your passion and mission in life. However, the most important chapters might be the ones that were never written. What’s the book you are scared to write?

In this episode from our top 10 list, Andre joins me to talk about those chapters of life and quite literally writing his book. Andre built a successful healthcare business before making the transition into coaching and different forms of therapy. He is working on writing his book on life from his own unconventional insights. Remember, just write, your voice will come!

  • I charge $10,000 for a 30 min session with a client; where I draw out their story so powerfully that it brings them to tears almost every time. They leave that session with a way to articulate what they do with such a depth of confidence. They can enroll clients using those words for the rest of their lives.

Today I take Portia through one of these Branded experiences. It's powerful to be in a Branded experience. And it's just as powerful to observe one.

What are your insights as you listen or watch this unique coaching experience?

Today you come in mid-way through our conversation because I want to illustrate a process that will allow you to talk about what you do with such power and impact that people will be lining up to work with you.

  • Today I'm coaching Alina. She's the former head of trading at Rothschilds; But she came to England as a youngster with just a hundred dollars in her pocket.

In the first part of this episode we talk about her book that's about to be published - The Audacity Spectrum.

I give her a powerful way to articulate why people should read this book. And then it looks like the episode is complete but the recording keeps going and you'll hear me coaching her on how to make an impossible dream and how to turn an impossible dream into her reality.

This was a really fun episode to record.
