Pay heed oh you FC Dallas curious, for now is the hour of our discontent. For low, the Dudes of FCD have thus been harshly put upon with elimination from the extravaganza of the after-season play. And thus the righteous 3rd Degree the Podcast hosts - Peter Welpton, Dan Crooke, and Buzz Carrick - were overcome with lamentations. As the sickos did suffer the pain of fanaticism and the loss of dignitude through failed strategery of the staff of Burn coaches.
But hark, what is that light? Is it the glory of a new coach?
Nah, it 'tis but home-field advantage for the best team in MLS Next Pro, your North Texas SC.As such it is with Los Toritos and the coach named Michel being Coach of the Month, so it is with Dallas Trinity and three players making Team of the Month. And thus did the blessings continue with 5 DFW ladies in the US U17s team.
And the music was brought forth by Pappy Check and all was right with the world.

This week on 3rd Degree the Podcast, your hosts - Peter Welpton, Dan Crooke, and Buzz Carrick - didn't want to talk much about the poor game in Vancouver, so after a quick hit on that meltdown and a celebration of the great Jimmy Maurer performance, they moved on to "What does each out of contract player have to do in the six games left to get a new contract." This week on 3rd Degree the Podcast, your hosts - Peter Welpton, Dan Crooke, and Buzz Carrick - are resigned to the season being a miss after the major left down against the Rapids. In a game that resembled the history of the club's performances, FCD was good in the middle but stunk at both ends. There were some good showings (Lletget, Junqua, Illarra) and a fair amount of poor shooting and defense. Have fans come to accept Luccin might be the best choice to coach this club even if he misses? What's next at Vancouver this weekend with all the callups on both sides? Plus Buzz gets on his soap box about player development and Dallas Trinity FC faced Barcalona.

Dan Crooke is back on this week's edition of 3rd Degree the Podcast, he re-joins your other two hosts - Peter Welpton and Buzz Carrick - to get the trio back together just in time to have loads of FC Dallas to talk about. Three games this week, vs Portland, at Sporting KC, and then a Cup game at Sporting KC (during the rain delay of which the bulk of the pod was recorded). There are both good and bad things happening with FCD. Goals are being scored but also given up. Some kids are playing a bit but there's still a heavy load of olds. Who is performing well and what is there left to play for? Is Paes about to be sold? How about a health update? LA Galaxy and Austin FC loom this week. And Buzz is about to go walkabout.

This week on 3rd Degree the Podcast, Dan Crooke is still missing so your remaining hosts - Peter Welpton and Buzz Carrick - soldier on through the miserable 2024 season without him. First, it's a look back at the FC Cincinnati game, including the once again amazing Asier Illarramendi. Plus, oh yeah, play the kids. Second, the summer window is coming, what kind of players will FCD seek and what kind of player would come to a team in chaos like this? Third, for that matter, what kind of coach would take this job? Fourth, it's a busy week with Portland and two games at Sporting KC, one more important than the other. And fifth, a smatter of kit talk with the sweet "Archive Collection" coming to MLS... not including FC Dallas.
