In 2018, the entire world pushed back against the notorious "Fast Track to Health" trial, a $1.2 million tax payer funded experiment in which Australian teenagers would be subjected to a year of semi starvation. More than 70 years of weight science research unequivocally demonstrates that weight loss dieting doesn't work in the long term, and causes homeostatic damage. We also know that teen dieting, ESPECIALLY severe restriction, is a massive risk factor for disordered eating and eating disorders. Despite valiant attempts by the eating disorders community, and a viral change.org petition pleading for the Fast Track to stop, this brutal research was allowed to continue. 6 years later, the world's slowest Fast Track has reached its bitter end. The Fast Track research team have just sharted out a triumphant press release, and are planning a glitzy trip to Venice, Italy, to present their ASTOUNDING results. Don't miss this episode of All Fired Up, where I unpack this utter sh*tshow. TW: This episode is packed full of weight loss dieting, explicit talk of calories, 'O' words, and EPIC weight loss industry bullsh*t - so please approach with caution !

Don't miss the final part of our series on the dark world of food addiction cult Bright Line Eating. Join me as I review her new book "Rezoom", a masterful collection of straw man arguments, red herrings, outright lies, and utter bullsh*t. There's also a new ‘published study’, and Susan Peirce Thompson's chilling respons to criticisms of her empire.

My guest this week is a completely fired up Leah V, who shares her experience working as a fat, Black, Muslim model before the fashion industry ghosted her. Is diversity in fashion really happening, or is modeling sliding back into the dreaded 'Almond moms'/'heroin chic' era?

Don't miss Part 3 of our deep dive into Bright Line Eating, where I dissect the grand claims made by Susan Peirce Thompson & compare them to the actual research. We also chat with Martina, an ex-Bright Liner, who shares her story.

In Part 2 of our series on Bright Line Eating, we chat with highly regarded neuroscientist Dr Sandra Aamodt about the neuroscience of body weight. The weight loss industry like to tell us that what we weigh is a matter of personal choice, when in reality, our bodies have a "defended weight range", commonly known as the set point, which resists weight loss. On diets, our bodies release a whole cascade of hormonal and physiological processes which take us back to where our bodies feel comfortable. We also talk about how food addiction - is it real? Or are the people pushing these ideas just peddling a re-packaged eating disorder?

Welcome to our digitally remastered and updated series on Bright Line Eating. This is a super extreme diet cult which cherry picks neuroscience to convince people that they are 'food addicts', selling one of the world's most restrictive (and expensive) diet regimes to keep people hooked on the dream of achieving 'goal weight'. Bright Line Eating is the lucrative brainchild of neuroscientist Susan Peirce Thompson, a charismatic saleswoman who holds nothing back when it comes to the hard sell. In Part 1 I ask who IS Susan Peirce Thompson - a food addict who has finally found the answer to her addictions, or someone who is still desperately stuck in her eating disorder? DO NOT MISS this story, it's a ripper!

Talking about weight stigma is suddenly all the rage! But does this mean we're truly tackling the issues? True to form, diet culture is selling us a carefully crafted narrative about weight stigma IN ORDER TO SELL MORE WEIGHT LOSS PRODUCTS. Join me and anti-diet dietitian and slayer of weight science Dr Fiona Willer, who has developed a weight stigma BS detector which we can ALL USE to separate the facts from the fluff.

A recent article in Medscape which claimed that a "self talk overhaul may help patients achieve weight loss" was fury catnip for Louise, who followed the trail and found herself knee deep in a truly unhinged research paper. Weight loss researchers are now adding what they call 'weight stigma' training to their weight loss programs and the results are nothing short of mind boggling. Spoiler alert: weight stigma is NOT a weight loss tip! Data resistant weight loss researchers are desperately trying to protect their failing paradigm, and we're now in a bizarre new world where an experiment on weight bias is itself riddled with weight bias and will in fact worsen weight bias. None of these researchers can see the forest for the trees.

In this episode I'm speaking with Sharon Maxwell, an outraged fat activist with lived experience of a restrictive eating disorder. She's sharing an appalling story about the goings on at NEDA, an American eating disorders organisation. Not only did NEDA sack their eating disorders helpline staff after they attempted to unionise, they replaced said staff with a bot called Tessa, who immediately began dishing out weight loss tips to callers. Sharon's story has to be heard - our eating disorders organisations have become deeply infected with the weight loss industry, and this needs to STOP!

My guest this week is the fabulous Holly Richards from Ample Folk, and she has not one but TWO diet culture tirades to share! As someone who's always been larger bodied, Holly is well acquainted with how tough it can be to travel on planes, and on a recent flight purchased two seats to make sure she was comfortable. Jetstar's treatment of her proves that fatphobia is alive and well, but she took no sh*t! They didn't know who they were dealing with, because Holly is also unmasking the exclusionary and outrageous tactics of the Australian clothing industry on as well! There is no end to Holly's rage or her awesomeness! Listen now!

Hellbent on protecting their careers in eradicating fat people, a group of Australian obesity researchers have snaffled $600k in government funded research money for a global research 'collaboration' to 'study' how often their ineffective weight loss programs cause eating disorders. Join me and my absolutely appalled guest Chevese Turner as we unpack this extremely dark development in the eating disorder world. The weight loss industry must be PREVENTED from wreaking further havoc in people's lives. Putting them in charge of studying eating disorder risk is like putting the gambling industry in charge of studying problem gambling. This episode will get your blood boiling!

In Part 2 of our walk down memory lane with Janny Craig, we're time warping back to the 1990's, a period in which the weight loss industry's chickens came home to roost. We're talking class action lawsuits, scientific skewering and much needed industry wide regulation of its outrageous advertising claims. Ever wondered why all the weight loss ads have "results not typical" in tiny writing at the bottom of the screen? We have Jenny and her snake oil salesman cronies to thank for that. Don't miss this schadenfreude-filled anti-diet episode!

After 40 years of peddling expensive and ineffective diet plans, Jenny Craig has finally gone broke. A behemouth of the weight loss industry during the second half of the 20th century, Jenny Craig and companies like them are responsible for mastering the art of selling a product that doesn't work, blaming its customers for their 'failure' and then raking in 'repeat business' . Do not miss this episode of All Fired Up, where we take a trip down memory lane with Jenny Craig, straight from the horse's mouth. We're reading through her autobiography and fact checking her highly sanitised version of 'the truth'. It's a real eye opener!

The FDA have approved Novo Nordisk's weight loss drugs, Saxenda and Wegovy, for use in teenagers. But how effective are they, and what are the potential consequences of normalising the use of injectable drugs for weight loss in kids as young as 12? Join Louise as she takes us through the Novo Nordisk funded clinical trials. Are these drugs really the magic pill they're touted to be? Or are we taking unjustified risks in the name of fat eradication?

Part 2 of our series on weight loss drugs takes us deep into the inner workings of Danish pharmaceutical company Novo Nordisk, who are hell bent on world domination of the lucrative "o*e$ity market". For years, the entire field of medicine has been professionally fluffed by Novo's "training programs" and media hype is next level. But who are Novo Nordisk, what are they selling, and can we trust them? Join me and my fierce and fabulous guests Ragen Chastain and Dr Fi Willer as we investigate the science behind the hype, and expose the truth behind their latest 'blockbuster' drugs, Saxenda and Wegovy. Do not miss!!!

Big pharma are running a MASSIVE global marketing campaign, trying to convince us that weight loss drugs are A Good Idea. I'm looking at you, Novo Nordisk! Join me and my extremely outraged guests Dr Fiona Willer & Ragen Chastain, as we revisit the dastardly history of weight loss medications. Past experience has brutally demonstrated that far from improving human 'health', these drugs have proven to be (spectacularly profitable) human disasters - most of them have been removed from the market for harming or killing people. Big pharma cares about profits, not lives. Have we learned anything from the sins of the past? Frighteningly, it seems like history is about to repeat. Don't believe the hype - do not miss this two part deep dive into the devious and deadly world of weight loss drugs!

Like flies at a picnic, weight loss app Noom's relentless advertising is crawling all over our online spaces. AND they're SHAMELESSLY co-opting our powerful anti-diet movement! AND they're claiming that 'psychology' is the key to 'long term weight loss!' AND they're selling a particularly shitty diet! AND they're targeting vulnerable people including those with eating disorders! HOW VERY DARE THEY! I'm so incandescent with fury that I've coined a new term: NOOM-RAGE!! Join me on the latest ep of the All Fired Up podcast with my equally outraged guest Dr Alexis Conason @theantidietplan. She is also EXTREMELY NOT HAPPY. Grab a stiff drink (or a nice cuppatea) & gird your loins as we EVISCERATE this DISGUSTING company in a rip-snorter of an episode! Did someone say class action lawsuit??

"Just 5-10% of weight loss is all you need to improve your health" is one of those things that "everyone knows", only - it's complete and utter BS. My guest this week is the fierce and fabulous Ragen Chastain, fat activist, speaker, prolific writer, dancer, and marathon runner, and she's had a GUTFUL of health professionals hiding their fatphobia under a condescending veneer of 'health concern'. Do NOT MISS this inspiring conversation - Ragen's mind is like a razor-sharp encyclopaedia of ANTI-DIET PUSHBACK!
