The World Happiness Report, edited by John Helliwell from Canada, Richard Layard from London, and Jeffery Sachs from the US, was written by a group of independent experts acting in their personal capacities. It compares cultural happiness in countries world-wide among 6 criteria. The 2017 World Happiness Report ranks Norway in the number 1 spot whereas the United States is ranked number 14.
