Ep 198: In this episode, Allison shares a lot about her career in secondhand and vintage clothing - from age 15 to 30. She has now told over 50,000 items and through this, has learned a lot about the industry. Many people have asked her how she learned the industry (just trial and error!), so she decided to make a 25+ page PDF guide "How To Be A Reseller." Allison first started off reselling vintage Nebraska husker apparel, then she opened New Wave in 2020 (which sold secondhand, vintage and handmade goods) and then she opened 1404 Collective in 2023 (which only sells second hand).
We discuss the challenges and rewards of starting a small business, the importance of doing market research, and the value of networking within the reselling community. Ep 188: Allison and Ceara are joined by yoga instructor and spiritual guide Kun, who shares his background in yoga and meditation. His spiritual journey started with his first meditation at 17 years old at Casa Om.
Today, Kun is a well-respected yoga instructor, meditation leader, and practitioner of sound baths, Thai massage, and acroyoga in Tulum.
Kun emphasizes the importance of spending time in nature and the spiritual aspects of yoga. The conversation explores the themes of vulnerability, balancing feminine and masculine energy, and the impact of a spiritual practice on communication with others. Kun also emphasizes the importance of compassion, understanding, and the ability to hold space for others.
TALKING POINTS:
Yoga and meditation can have a profound impact on one's life, helping to find stability, connect with nature, and achieve well-being.The practice of yoga is not just about physical postures, but also about the spiritual and emotional aspects.Yoga can help release tension, emotions, and negative energy from the body, allowing the spirit to ascend and experience more joy. It's important to slow down, be present, and embrace where you are in your yoga practice and in life.Yoga can help build confidence, self-acceptance, and self-love, leading to positive changes in one's life. Vulnerability and embracing both feminine and masculine energy is essential for personal growth and healthy relationships.Compassion and understanding are key components of a spiritual practice and can enhance communication with others.Balancing feminine and masculine energy allows for a more harmonious and fulfilling life.Men should be encouraged to be more receptive and sensitive, and women should hold space for them to express vulnerability. When he's not teaching or leading sessions, you can find Kun playing various instruments, surfing the waves, practicing Thai Chi, or riding his motorcycle, fully embracing the art of living well.

Ceara and Allison address various questions, including whether to splurge or save on a wedding, feeling guilty about inherited privilege, uncertainty about a dream job and dealing with a partner's drinking problem. They provide advice and insights on each topic, emphasizing the importance of personal values, open communication, and self-reflection. The conversation covers a range of emotions and challenges, offering support and guidance to listeners.
In the catch up segment, Allison shares she’s still deciding where to move and is manifesting the perfect space. The girls have a sidebar chat about how quickly clutter accumulates, the challenges of letting go of sentimental items and thrift manifestation. Ceara talks about unpacking wedding gifts and dealing with a flooded basement.
QUESTIONS ASKED:
I’m getting married soon and I can’t decide between if I want to splurge or save on a weddingI accepted my dream job as a nurse… and I think I’m getting hazed. My parents are pretty wealthy and I have some inheritance money from my grandparents. I just feel so guilty that I have such a financially secure future when other people can't even afford to put food on the table. My boyfriend has a drinking problem and I don’t know how to move forward. Am I being too naggy? He is an absolute dream aside from this, everything I've wanted in a man and the one I want to marry, so it feels hard to just walk away and give up.SPONSORS + DISCOUNTS:

Ep 183: The fourth of July holiday has us feeling extra patriotic this summer, and we don’t think we’re the only ones?! There seems to be a collective appreciation in the air for nostalgic American culture. Things we are enjoying this summer include rodeos, lake days, backyard BBQs, drive in movies, visiting National parks, small town USA roadtrips, riding horses and country fairs. We share a ton of ideas on how to lean into this Americana feeling from daytime excursions, to our favorite foods, clothes to wear, evening activities, destinations and more.
