About Jasmine:
Jasmine is a self taught artist with a background in science. Her art explores the emergent patterns found in natural growth, form, and collective systems. With elements of archetypal myth and a dash of futurism, her work seeks to create a language that crosses all barriers of time, space, and culture.
Out of the studio, she works as an Art Facilitator at Artists First studio and as a professional coach working with groups and individuals to use the power of art and imagination for personal growth.
Short Statement
Art is my quest for knowledge. The sciences and humanities each look at the world through their own lens but don’t offer a way to synthesize a broader view of existence. I use painting as a tool to organize and collect patterns.

About Kelly and Alejandro:
Kelly Jimenez and Alejandro Franco are both Colombian artists whose primary discipline is the use of discarded materials to create highly crafted works of art.
Alejandro is a multidisciplinary artist who works primarily in the arrangement of found objects assemblages as well as painting, Alejandro was born on October 3rd of 1982 in Medellin (Colombia), at the age of eighteen he moved to Florida where he started his artistic exploration
“Living in the industrialized world, surrounded by an excessive amount of objects together with the media, I find fulfillment in the creation of characters built from various objects that were previously resting without purpose. Looking out for similarities between objects is one of my greatest passions, striving to interpret thoughts. I feel the need to intervene within these forgotten elements, to work with their poetic potential to create convergence that engages people with a message. A never-ending search for beauty, making use of the detritus of everyday life”
Currently lives and works in St Louis (US)
Kelly is an experienced Art Director born on September 5th of 1991 in Bogota, Colombia with a demonstrated history of working in the textile industry as an Art director.
She moved to Florida at a young age where she pursued her artistic career with an Associate of Arts and Sciences (A.A.S.) focused on Fashion/Apparel production Design from the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale.
Focused mainly on space intervention for film sets, editorial publications, and visual concepts for set design, uses everyday objects as tools for inspiration and exploration.
Currently lives and works in St Louis (US)
Due to their affinity when working together and their urgency to preserve species and our land, they have been collaborating for the past three years creating a variety of works, often in the form of stop-motion animation, photography, sculptures, and lately, they have been fully focused in the creation of stained glass windows made out of single-use plastic. “We are making use of the translucency and variety of colors of this material to present the audience with meticulously crafted pieces that turn a material so transient and detrimental into something of great beauty, worth preserving. We are lovers of nature, we are always finding ways to celebrate it and preserve it.” By spending all this time and effort to recover an undervalued material through labor, we hope to make an allegory of the efforts we need to make to preserve a healthy ecosystem, one where we can feel hopeful and proud, an essential desire has so often taken for granted.

About Aaron:
Aaron Owens’ work focuses on marginal landscapes and the intersection of human and natural forms. Themes within his artistic practice often touch on questions of surveillance, the splintering of man from nature in popular imagination and what a holistic approach to modern ecology looks like on the ground and from above. After graduating from Sacramento State with a BS in Geography Aaron began to translate the observational and technical skills essential to the discipline into an artistic practice. His work has been shown at Washington University in St. Louis, The Granite City Arts and Design District, and Oui Galleries - Hong Kong. His work has appeared in VIEW magazine, Tube Magazine, The Moon Zine and been featured in collaboration with music labels Distant Bloom and Dinzu Artefacts. He currently lives and works in St. Louis, Missouri.

Justin Beachler makes paintings and sculptures interested in the subcultural aesthetic developments of counter-culture movements specific to psychedelics, conspiracy and contemporary art. He takes a jokester approach to creating and is super curious how these subcultures have evolved and influenced each other online. He has recently shown at the
Nerman Museum of Contemporary art in Kansas, LVL3 in Chicago, Granite City Art and Design and numerous galleries in Kansas City where he spent most of his adult life. He currently resides in Chicago.

About Drew:
Drew Nikonowicz (born in St. Louis Missouri, 1993) earned a BFA degree from the University of Missouri - Columbia in 2016. His work employs analog photographic processes as well as computer simulations to deal with exploration and experience in contemporary culture. He has exhibited both nationally and internationally. In 2015 he received the Aperture Portfolio Prize and the Lenscratch Student Prize. In 2017 Nikonowicz completed a one-year residency at Fabrica Research Centre. His first photobook, This World and Others Like It, was co-published by Yoffy Press and FW:Books in 2019. It was awarded Jurors' Special Mention at the 2019 Paris Photo/Aperture Foundation Photobook Awards.
He now lives in the United States in Saint Louis, Missouri. He works there as an artist and is the Photography Technician at the Sam Fox School of Design and Visual Arts at Washington University.

About Tiff:
She/Her
Photographer Tiff J. Sutton was born in 1981 in Rochester, NY, and was raised in suburban St. Louis, MO. She began documenting family and friends after receiving a Kodak camera as a Christmas gift in the early 1990s. While primarily a self-taught photographer, she also attended classes at Washington University in St. Louis and St. Louis Community College. Sutton is a 2020 Harvard #InTheCity Visual Artist Fellow and was awarded the Regional Arts Commission St. Louis Artist Support Grant in 2019, the Regional Arts Commission Artist Relief grant, the Luminary Futures Fund: Emergency Relief for Artists, and A Sustaining Arts Practice Fund (ASAP Fund). Sutton has decided to work with black women exclusively, as a way to reconnect with herself and discuss social movements. Sutton works with digital, film and instant cameras.
Artist Statement:
Working within the discourse of abstract and figurative portraiture, I create photographs regarding selfhood and social movements. My work explores the unnerving possibility of multiple meanings, dual perceptions and limitlessness in the seemingly binary. Drawing repeatedly on Black feminism thought, I capture Black women with poise and naturalness that exudes a sense of ease. Photographed in classical studios, on - location domestic backdrops and neighborhoods, I am determined to catch every moment in the subjects’ life. Often beginning as a narrative portrait and ultimately becoming an abstract portrait, the image becomes an imprint of their visibility, their alterity gone.

About Liz:
For the past 10 years, Liz Deichmann has worked in various roles in the commercial and nonprofit arts sector: film producer, music talent buyer, college radio promoter, administrator, and researcher. Currently, she is the Data and Research Manager at the Regional Data Alliance where she works with nonprofits and government to conduct applied research, build capacity, and ensure data is a public good. Her work as a nonprofit arts practitioner inspires her research interests—cultural policy, research methodology, and policy process—as a Political Science PhD student at the University of Missouri-St. Louis. She holds a Master of Public Policy Administration and BA in Art History. She is a 2012 Community Arts Training alumna and co-founder of Midwest Artist Projects, St. Louis Secret Sound Society, and St. Louis Arts Project.

About Chloe:
I was born in 1996 in St. Louis MO. BFA in Printmaking from Webster University and I am currently working on my MFA in 4D at UW Madison.
Artist Statement:
There’s something about all of this constant chaos; everything happening
simultaneously all the time that feels so mundane. Like it has always been there. Like it
is supposed to be there. Another everyday spectacle. Truth is as liquid as the past, and
with a little heat facts and moments seem to quickly evaporate; forever lost to time.
The work is not occupied with truth. The work maintains the grey area - cozy in the
warm comfort of contradiction and chaos; you can always count on those guys. You
know them when you see them. They have always been there. Concrete in their
negation of the ideologies and infrastructures we idealize as the backbone of our
civilization.
The artwork is often uncomfortable but reaches for the familiar. My lipgloss is too tacky
and my tennis shoes slightly pinch my baby toe. Humor is crucial in uncomfortable
situations. Fetish is everywhere. The work is a product of the internet; often constructed
using various systems of production and bits of digital debris, information, media, and
material leaving their impression to be inspected, questioned, interpreted and
synthesized.
The resulting artwork is often in the form of an object, consumer product, fashion, video
or some combination of these; moving from one idea to the other tethered by thin
conceptual strands. It’s all right there. If it were a snake it woulda bit ya.

About Emily:
Emily G Stremming is an artist and fine art photographer residing in St. Louis Missouri.
Her work emphasizes medium specificity and pushes the boundaries of what makes a photograph “Art”. Her work goes beyond the whole idea of a photograph being a reproducible print by creating actual art objects. Emily physically slices into archival prints while at the same time covering the entire print with her fingerprints as she weaves together inkjet images.
Every piece is unique and therefore unreproducible. Her images from far away appear to be pixelated, playing with the idea of a digital image becoming a tangible work of art created not only by a machine but with her own two hands. She uses a variety of techniques including both digital and analog distortion and conceptually touches on the psyche of victims of domestic violence and intimidation. Her work often revolves around imagery of women integrated with imagery of weapons
of destruction.
Emily got her BFA at SIUE and worked as an assistent director at DUET gallery in St. Louis from 2014-2018. Her work has been shown at local galleries, and downtown spaces such as the MX and Angad Arts Hotel. She had work in the satellite fair at the Miami Basel in 2017 and will be featured in a group show in the UK in December 2020.

The Granite City Art and Design District (G-CADD) is a consortium of creative project spaces located on the 1800 block of State Street of downtown Granite City, IL. As an artist-run space, we work to provide artists, musicians and creative types an opportunity to execute and exhibit projects in an alternative environment, while simultaneously serving the local community and positively impacting the region at large. G-CADD is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit community arts forum, and is a project of the fort gondo compound for the arts.
Marianne Laury is an artist and curator whose main influences are drawn from present day fandom culture, sitcoms, and their universal themes of life, death, love and loss. She was the co-founder of BANK Projects, an independent art space in St. Louis, MO, and is currently the Curator and Director of Programming at the Granite City Art and Design District (G-CADD). She has shown work throughout the US and the UK. She received a BFA in Sculpture from the Kansas City Art Institute, and an MFA in Visual Art from Washington University in St. Louis, where she currently lives and works.

Justin’s Bio:
Justin is a designer, poet, and painter. In the designer aspect he is interested in typography, and creating illusions. As a poet he has written a total of four books. Two of the books are based on spirituality and love. The other two break down the male and female process of what it’s like to be loved and gaslighted. As a painter Justin has stuck to one style which is abstract art. It’s the only style where it allows him to feel free.

Madeline’s Bio:
I currently live and work in Kansas City out of my home studio and workshop space. I hold a BFA in painting and a BA in art history from Missouri State University. My primary medium of choice has always been painting, but I’ve always preferred the term visual artist, as the process is non-binary and my work has always involved many mediums. I heavily focus on the self processing grief, dysphoria through sexual and reproductive trauma, and the healing, grotesque journey of returning to the self. It's explorative, experiential, and, at times, tangential.

Jack’s Bio: Jack Garland is an American photographer. He was born in 1993 in Loveland, Colorado. Jack’s work has spanned a decade and focuses on color, memory, and melancholic emotions that he first experienced as a child in his small town.
Growing up wanting to make movies and being struck by films from an early age, he picked up his first film camera at 16 (as a means to practice framing and lighting) and began photographing everything around him. Taking to photography with more ease than film, he stayed in the process and his body of work has grown ever since. With work ranging from landscape, portraiture and documentary, Jack has a unique and nonsingular eye that allows his look to bleed into many genres of photography.

Aly’s Bio:
Since I was 12 years old, I’ve always held a camera in my hand. Learning how to use film photography expanded my world, and I was eager to improve my skills in both analog and digital photography. Glitch art photos and videos are also something I’ve enjoyed making since I was younger that helped me experience creative flow. Outside of photography, I learned skills in various art mediums to help diversify my perspective and possibly combine photography with another skill such as I can book-bind, screen print, use woodcutting tools, and make plaster molds. Other hobbies include: bubble tea, thrifting, pool, music, dining out, and modeling.

Marissa’s Bio:
Marissa Dembkoski is an artist, art museum administrator, and (recently) quarantine fundraising DJ. She earned her BFA from Lesley University in Photography and Art History in 2017 and completed a collaborative thesis with partner Paal Williams. Their artist collaborative pwmd creates work that intertwines artistic tensions from the history of photography and contemporary modes of photographic production to question the constructs of visual culture. They have exhibited four solo exhibitions, participated in the first triennial exhibition in St. Louis, Counterpublic 2019, and curated exhibition Pixel at the Granite City Art and Design District.
Marissa has worked in communications and development roles at non-profits for the past six years, including Harvard Art Museums and the Saint Louis Art Museum. During quarantine, she pursued her random desire to learn the basics of DJing, which has resulted in creating a recurring virtual dance party fundraiser series called Boogie Knights of Quarantine with collaborator Ally Campbell. Known professionally as DJ MixRiss, she is notoriously known for exclusively using SoundCloud remixes and nostalgic early 00's suburban electronic hits. Boogie Knights are held monthly to fundraise money for important causes, past donations have gone to the Okra Project and the ACLU.

Drews's Bio:
Drew Nikonowicz (born in St. Louis Missouri, 1993) earned a BFA degree from the University of Missouri - Columbia in 2016. His work employs analog photographic processes as well as computer simulations to deal with exploration and experience in contemporary culture. He has exhibited both nationally and internationally. In 2015 he received the Aperture Portfolio Prize and the Lenscratch Student Prize. In 2017 Nikonowicz completed a one-year residency at Fabrica Research Centre. His first photobook, This World and Others Like It, was co-published by Yoffy Press and FW:Books in 2019. It was awarded Jurors' Special Mention at the 2019 Paris Photo/Aperture Foundation Photobook Awards.
He now lives in the United States in Saint Louis, Missouri. He works there as an artist and is the Photography Technician at the Sam Fox School of Design and Visual Arts at Washington University.

Moira's Bio: Moira Smith is a multi media artist and exhibition preparator based in St. Louis. Moira helps with install at various local galleries and museums, including Granite City Arts and Design District, the Kemper Museum At Washu, and the Pulitzer Arts Foundation. In between art handling, Moira can *potentially be seen* searching around for objects to be evidence. Moira collects information from a variety of sources such as children’s fairytales and folklore, anonymous public surveys, appropriated textbooks or encyclopedias, city alleys, and (especially) eavesdropping on conversations in public places.
Moira takes lots of notes but likes to call them field notes or data, for scientific purposes. She has a collection of rocks — though some art secretly not, but rather, chunks of asphalt.

Ashley's Bio: Ashley is a St. Louis based artist and barista at local coffee bar, Blueprint Coffee, located on Delmar. Over the course of her life Ashley has put great intent in trying to come to understanding and acceptance with every dimension of our journey in becoming ourselves. In this day and age of identity, decolonizing our hearts and institutions, and quest for self love, breaking down barriers is not only an external necessity but an internal one.
Ashley is of Mexican, Indigenous and Hungarian descent, and as a woman of color and one who has lived a life with mental illness these barriers are ones that have hung on every waking thought as she has grown. To not only learn to love ourselves for our growth and beauty but see and accept the other side of that, she desires the courage to delve deeper into taking ownership for our wickedness or shortcomings and creating beauty in the peace that brings.
“To make mistakes, to find out that you are the villain and hero in your story is to know all of you. Making mistakes and having that opportunity to rise above them, the ability to make a choice, is the great gift we have as humans as well as our curse. We never want to entertain the idea that we can become what we hate the most in others. Or that we can be everything we have ever wanted, if we could only see past the lies we tell ourselves.” Animals and the natural world have been the conduit and inspiration for her method of communicating these ideas and questions. Through illustration she takes these characters and creatures to create a narrative on coming back to ourselves, to the earth and to the question of how to find the truth sometimes hidden in our lives. To make sense of our own stories and the growth needed for how we write them.
