Let's discuss and figure it out together. 7 Mistakes are:
1) Early SPECIALIZATION
2) Afraid of FAILURE
3) Switching teams TOO MANY TIMES

Youth basketball coaches number ONE dilemma. Do I win games now and make the parents happy, or do I develop players for their future and risk making parents go "boo hoo". If you know me you know I stand on the side of developing our youth. Having them go through the processes necessary for individual success. But like with everything it is a choice. Parents must do a good job of seeing the big picture and understanding the negative long term implications of the "win-now" mentality. True success is NOT short term. Put your feelings aside and place your validation in the effort your child is giving towards reaching their goals. Winning games WILL come. Relax!

Goal setting is the most important yet most often overlooked part of skill development. Spend time with setting some specific goals and make time to revisit them time and time again. This is a huge way to get ahead in the game! Don't waste any time. While you are at it, make some time to look in the mirror and tell yourself how awesome you are. Do it everyday until you believe it! Get fixated on your goals and greatness.
I believe in YOU!
