This is sure to be one for the record books as we're joined by these dedicated and thorough researchers of the paranormal, the Mulder and Skully of Wisconsin Jay Bachochin and Mary Marshall this week on BTE Radio. About Jay and WPI Hunts the truth. WPI Hunts the Truth was established in March 2007 by Jay Bachochin and his wife Katie due to their love and passion of the paranormal. They were both so intrigued bythe paranormal evidence they’ve seen in their lives that they actually took an interest in paranormal investigating as a husband/wife quest in 2006. In later March 2007, they founded The Wisconsin Paranormal Investigators along with the help of some veryWPI Hunts the Truth was establ ished in March 2007 by Jay Bachochin and his wife Katie due to their love and passion of the paranormal. They were both so intrigued byply suggestive thought or mass hysteria? We needed to find the answers for ourselves. That is how our mission Hunt the Truth was born.In 2014 we combined our organizations name and our mission statement together to simplify who we are and what we do. We are now called WPI Hunts the Truth. WPI Hunts the Truth researchesanything paranormal from fringe science, cryptozoology creatures, urban legends, unidentified aerial phenomena, conspiracy theories and the ghost phenomena.Over the years they have had numerous investigations requested by home and business owners claiming to be experiencing paranormal activity, they have been able to help find answers, either confirming or debunking their claims. While some claims have been dispelled, WPI Hunts the Truth has captured some evidence that supportsthe ghost phenomena actually exists. While they have conducted many private investigations, they have also been to notable locations such as Kenosha’s RhodeOpera House, the Illinois State Beach Resort in Winthrop Harbor, and the famous Mansfield, Ohio State Reformatory, which was featured in the film ‘Shawshank Redemption.’WPI Hunts the Truth has hosted events at The Rhode Opera House and the Illinois State Beach Resort and Conference Center to help teach others about ghost phenomena, how to use equipment, and how to get started investigating. Currently Jay and Mary Marshall of ‘The Paranormal MD’ have teamed up to researchthe Kettle Moraine in Southeast Wisconsin for the past 12 months. This year long research / case study of searching for The Wisconsin Sasquatch has been well documented with an accompanied documentary called ‘Into the Woods’. They are out in the field at least 4x a month.ABOUT JAY BACHOCHINJay has been interested in the paranormal since he was old enough to hold an interest. Jay was raised on Creature Features back in the early 70's. He just loved "anything" that was supernatural. It wasn't until 1979 when he witnessed something paranormalfirst hand and saw the most amazing display of a well lit flying object above their house in Lindenhurst, IL. What did his brother, sister and my mom see that night? They couldall say it was a UFO, but until this day they still can't explain what we saw. However, itwas fascinating to watch these lights move in the night sky over a total of :20 minutes.Throughout Jay’s life he has experienced many different types of paranormal activity. Not all ghostly experiences but 'odd' to say the least. He’s experienced a 5 second black-out when he was 8 years old. The black-out didn't only happen to Jay at thattime, but also the friend he was with at the time. This 5 second black-out was the most bizzare thing he can recall from childhood. How can 2 people share the same blackout?Jay has witnessed many different unidentified flying objects near his hometown and his current residence over the years.During some of his investigating, he has experienced what some people would call a ghost. Not sure if it was a deceased person's spirit running through his body, or if there is something natural that we don't comprehend. Whatever it was charged him with staticelectricity, and made every hair on his body stand as tall as the Redwood National Forest yet was as cold as ice.Jay believes that we are not alone in our universe. Another race of alien beings? A greater force beyond comprehension? Worm-holes? Time scapes? Parallel universes? To arrange interviews, please contact the participants directly:Jay Bachochin, founder of WPI Hunts the Truth. To learn more about Jay visit his website http://wpihuntsthetruth.com/About the Paranormal MD Mary Marshall: Mary helped develop one of the first Paranormal Studies Program in the country that is taught at an institution for higher education at Harper College in Palatine, Illinois where she teaches paranormal studies classes. In response to the many individuals across the globe, Mary will soon be offering online paranormal studies classes starting in 2015.It is her goal that sharing knowledge will result in the creation of better investigators and researchers, and in general, broaden people’s perspective and understanding of paranormal activity. Although her primary focus is on ghostly-type activity, starting at a young age, Mary has been drawn to and interested in psychic phenomenon and medium-ship, as well as the many aspects of theoretical physics. In more recent years, other fields of science and technology have gained her attention as well. “Science and technology, and metaphysics and spirituality, are very connected; they complement one another. Many do not see the marriage that exists between them, however, I do. In the paranormal field there is a union, a collective consciousness that exists between them.”Investigator & Researcher - Mary Marshall is the founder and director of The Paranormal MD, a paranormal investigation team located in northwest Illinois. • Eric and Marie welcome the Crypto Guru Ron Murphy to the show as we talk Mermaids, Goblins, Cryptids and more. During the first half hour Shawn and Marianne Donley are back for another episode of the Haunted Spotlight. Then at 8:30 pm est, we welcome Author, Folklorist, Radio Show Host, Actor and Lecturer Ron Murphy.

Ronald went on his first bigfoot expedition with his mother when he was seven, inspired by a radio featuring Stan Gordon back in the mid-70s. Since then Ronald has been fascinated with the world of cryptids and the unexplained.

Dave Scott of the internationally popular podcast, Spaced Out Radio, calls Ronald Murphy “the cryptozoological guru,” and has Ron as a monthly guest. George Noorey of Coast to Coast AM refers to Murphy as “a world-class expert” in faerie lore. Besides Coast to Coast AM and Spaced Out Radio, Ron has also been heard on the Black Cat Lounge, SquatchWatch Radio, WILK, KTKK AM630, and numerous other programs, both radio and television, throughout the US, the United Kingdom, and Canada. Ronald was given the opportunity to co-host two radio programs on the Paranormal UK Radio Network—The Transatlantic ParaRadio Show with Andy Mercer and Inside the Goblin Universe with Colin Schneider.
Ronald L. Murphy graduated from the University of Pittsburgh and attended graduate school at Pitt and at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He is a professional actor, having appeared in movies, on television, and on stage. He is also a researcher and historical reenactor for the Underground Railroad in Blairsville, PA.

In the course of his forty years of research, he has written a number of books.
Unexplained Chestnut Ridge: A Hike through the Goblin Universe of the Laurel Highlands is a fascinating journey into the paranormal world of Western Pennsylvania.

Bigfoot, UFOs, Thunderbirds, Ghosts, and all things that go bump in the night is scientifically researched and documented in this work, as well as raising unique theories into the cause of such phenomena.

Haunted Westmoreland County explores the fascinating history of Westmoreland County, taking the reader on a fast-paced tour of the region. He delves into the colonization of the county and proceeds to take the reader through the economic and social development of this pivotal area, vital to the creation of the United States of America.

Ronald also has written a series of books concentrating on the archetypal origins of many unexplained cryptids.
On Dogman: Tracking the Werewolf Through History is an exhaustively researched, intelligent study of the concept of the lycanthrope from a Jungian perspective. By first examining cave paintings that demonstrate the notion of therianthropy, Murphy continues the quest for the Dogman through the dawn of humanity to the modern character of the werewolf. With a foreward by Ken Gerhard, this book is an essential study on this bestial manifestation within the human psyche.

On Mermaids is a treatise on the mermaid figure of myth and legend. Murphy probes deeply below the waves and into the human experience to discern the cultural meaning of this aquatic archetype.

On Wildman: Searching for Bigfoot Through the Ages is a psychological, mythological, and linguistic exploration of the Wildman archetype referred to as Bigfoot in America. One review of this book states that it is a “must have for any cryptozoological library.”

On Ghosts: An Historical Survey investigates cultural beliefs and empirical evidence of ghostly activity through time, within the context of a global understanding of the paranormal.

On Vampires is an exploration into the shadow that lurks in the collective unconscious, a cannibalistic underside of humanity that lies buried just below the surface, threatening to rise at any moment.

Ron is considered an expert on fairy lore, and has researched the unexplained from Maine to Florida as well as in the United Kingdom. He has led investigations in his quest for Bigfoot in Maine and in Pennsylvania, and is a noted lecturer. He has headlined the Butler Paranormal Conference in Pennsylvania, and was a featured speaker, along with Ken Gerhard and Ron Morehead, at Creature Weekend in Ohio. He has also been a featured lecturer at the East Coast Paracon. Ron is interested in infrasound and pheromones in relation to Bigfoot research. He also studies cryptozoology as it relates to the Collective Unconscious and focuses on archetypes found throughout world cultures. Ron is also a member of the Center for Cryptozoological Studies and Center for Unexplained Events.

Learn more about Ron at his website http://www.cryptoguru.net/

  • This Sunday night we’re joined by Dr. Brian D. Parsons Anomalous Researcher/Investigator, Author, Public Speaker, Radio host and Director of ParaNexus. Brian returns to the program rescheduled from January and Eric and Marie will be talking with Brian about his authored books, investigations, cryptid cases, his show Paranormal News Insider and more. Brian hails from Ohio and brings with him a long history of research, investigations and interest in the fortean. Brian will also serve as one of the returning speakers at the 2017 Pennsylvania Bigfoot Camping Adventure this May 5,6,7th. Tune in Sunday night March 26 as we welcome back Brian Parsons to BTE Radio.
    About Brian:
Brian D. Parsons was born in Indiana in 1973 and moved to northeast Ohio before his first birthday. Growing up his parents told him that ghosts, monsters, and other strange things did not exist; they did this not to brainwash him, but to help him sleep at night. He grew up watching "In Search of" with Leonard Nimoy which began to open his mind to the what-ifs that exist in our world.
In early 1996 he was attending college when a couple of friends asked him for help in learning how to write better research papers. He and another friend suggested writing about a subject they really liked and they would critique it. A few others did the same as well and when the group met and began to peer review the papers one drew more attention than the others on sports and dating; it was about UFOs. One of the guys in the group was a UFO nut who decided to write about UFO sightings. As the group began to talk about UFOs other subjects, such as urban legends and local folklore, came up. A few days later he was at work and brought up a particular local urban legend. He found it interesting how many different people heard the same distinct things about this location and the stories that went with it.
Brian decided to investigate the location, he went to the local library and researched the property and those involved with it during the time of the story. During his research he stumbled upon Parapsychology and Psychical Research; terms he heard in Psychology class that meant nothing more than pseudoscience to his teacher. Investigating further he was interested to realize that there were many people investigating ghosts today and that despite finding enough evidence to prove the local urban legend wrong, he was inspired to investigate ghosts and related phenomena further.
In the fall of 1996, he and a group of friends formed a paranormal investigation team after weeks of learning about phenomena through reading and other resources (the internet wasn't a big help back then!). They started out as many teams did back then by investigating cemeteries, abandoned buildings, and researched and investigated urban legends. While they had no official name they had spent plenty of time discussing it; one suggestion by Brian was in response to many of the groups with acronyms that existed was Ohio Paranormal Investigation Network (O.P.I.N.). The name was based on his dream of helping to network not only groups, but professionals in other areas of interest to help grow the field and help those in need. It was also in the fall of 1996 that they began getting client cases through word of mouth. During one case the homeowner, the father of a friend of one of the investigators, asked who was in charge and if the group had a name. Everyone began to look around the room and Brian began to notice everyone staring at him. He had become the official leader of the group; and his group name was adopted as well. In early 1997 the group split, while one continued to investigate cemeteries, buildings, and other structures, the other continued to help clients and carried the O.P.I.N. banner.
The first group website was on the free Geocities website (site no longer exists) and was a one page advertisement for the group. During this time other members had their own O.P.I.N. websites using the original logo in an effort to gather client cases. In 2000, the group moved to Angelfire where it resided until 2007 when the decision was finally made to acquire a unique URL.
In 2000, during some downtime in investigations, Brian decided to pursue a spot with the Mutual UFO Network as a Field Investigator. He worked briefly with the organization and still conducts his own investigations into related phenomena. Brian has worked with the Sasquatch Research Initiative (now defunct), the Pennsylvania Bigfoot Society, and is currently a hand-picked member of the Pennsylvania Cryptozoology Society investigating Bigfoot, big cat, and strange animal sighting claims.
Brian has authored four books on the subject of paranormal group operation, including his unique "E4" Method designed for client-centered cases. His fifth book, Handbook for the Amateur Cryptozoologist, digs into the world of hidden or unknown animals. He presents a balanced look at the history and mystery behind these creatures as well as methodologies into investigating them. He has worked with the ParaNexus Anomalous Research Association for several years and served as the Research Director, Treasurer, and sat on the Board of Directors until the corporation voted to dissolve in December of 2011. He remained a member and served as the Anomalous News Coordinator until 2014 when he was named Executive Director of ParaNexus in an effort to revitalize the organization. Brian also hosts the Paranormal News Insider show that began as a segment of the Grand Dark Conspiracy, which was later called Darkest Hours Late Night. The Paranormal News Insider can be heard LIVE every Tuesday night from 7-8 PM eastern on WCJV Digital Broadcasting.
Brian has appeared on numerous internet radio shows, paranormal conferences and conventions, as well as his own events where he speaks on a variety of paranormal and anomalous subjects (see the contact/media page for details). He has a PhD from the Institute of Metaphysical Humanistic Science in Metaphysical Science and is currently working on his bachelor's degree in Environmental Science. Brian is a member of the National Association of Environmental Professionals as a student. He is also an ordained minister and is a state licensed wedding officiant in the state of Ohio. Brian lives in northeast Ohio with his wife Amy and their dog Sasha.

  • Shawn and Marianne Donley along with team member Andre Ruffner from Dark Shadow Ghost Tours and Panic'D are back this week to not only join us for another episode of the Haunted Spotlight but to talk with us about their investigations and some of the infamous haunted locations they have traveled to and toured. Other members of the Dark Shadow Ghost Tours team investigative team will be joining us as well.

    About Shawn and Marianne:

Shawn and Marianne began looking into the paranormal just as something to do different on a vacation to St. Augustine, Florida. Since this was a return trip to this location, they wanted to take tours and see a different side of the city. The first ghost tour they ever took was to the infamous St. Augustine Lighthouse. "We toured this place during the day in 2006, but when we went back in 2010, we wanted to see the lighthouse at night," says Shawn. Little did they know that this vacation would start their journey into paranormal research and eventually Dark Shadow Ghost Tours. Shawn is the executive producer of the tours and dinners and is involved with the research of the different locations. He is an Internet Marketing consultant for small businesses and a Technology Coordinator for the same school district that Marianne teaches. Marianne is a biology teacher (and our resident skeptic) and tries to debunk as much evidence as she can. She is involved in graphic design for events and historical research. Marianne produces the print materials and prop creation for the events as well. She is also involved in the production of the murder/mystery dinners and is our green screen photography expert.
