Hello phriends! We are mixing it up a little this week because my guest, Garrett Hollowell, is in a punk band called Dead Words. How is this relevant to Jimmy Buffett you say? Well I am glad you asked. They just released a new EP called Patron Saints of Paradise Vibes that basically answers the question of what it would sound like if Jimmy Buffett wrote punk rock songs. It even has a killer cover of Margaritaville! We talk about Garrett's experiences listening to Jimmy Buffett, the emotional stories behind the songs on this EP, the similarities between the punk scene and the parrot head scene, and how Jimmy Buffett himself is punk rock. Trust me, you do not want to miss this fascinating and educational (at least to me, because I didn't know much about punk before) interview!

This week we are doing something a little different because I am the guest! Danny from Tiki Man Radio asked if I would be a guest on their Sunday morning live show and I was happy to oblige (even though it was 8am for me)! I had a super fun time and thought it might be an interesting twist on my usual episodes if you got to hear me being interviewed instead of my usual role as the one interviewing people. Be sure to check out my podcast at 7pm est on Mondays on Tiki Man Radio, as well as all the other awesome shows they have got going on! You can also watch the full replay of the live show over on their youtube if you want to see how awesome (j/k) I look at 8am.
Since I was technically the guest this week I chose a charity to share with you all. Think Wild is a local wild animal rescue and rehab that is new, but already doing amazing things here in Central Oregon. Go check them out at https://www.thinkwildco.org/

You are not going to want to miss hearing about all the cool Buffett related items he has accumulated over the years, and all the experiences that go along with them! Seeing as I was out of the game for several weeks, I totally forgot to ask him about a charity for this episode, but I checked with him after the fact and he chose the ASPCA. My guest this week is Dave McKenney who is an awesome musician that some of you may know from his original music, or because he has played at many a Parrot Head Club event, but what you may not know is that he has started a new musical duo called Hungry Hard Luck Heroes! This duo covers classic Jimmy Buffett songs and has made some really great music videos that you are definitely going to want to check out. Dave and I chat about all kinds of things in this episode, but we get especially passionate talking about how Jimmy Buffett has inspired us and impacted our lives. So both Dave's band and this episode are kind of one big love letter to Jimmy!

He is a little bit newer of a Jimmy Buffett fan compared to those of us who grew up on it, but has a really funny and unique story about how he got into Jimmy. We also talk about his basement bar, the Parrot Den, Margaritaville frozen concoction makers, going all in on being a parrot head, and how he got his very appropriate nickname. So come join us to find out about all the things that make him Margarita Chris!

My guest this week is Lee Adams and he is a brand new Buffett fan! I was really interested when he sent me his story because he only just got into Buffett last year and I was curious to hear what being a JB fan is like from the perspective of someone who is so new to it. Especially because he really jumped in with both feet, listening to all the music (including all the old stuff), reading Pirate Looks at Fifty, and even including Key West in an upcoming trip! I had a great time chatting with him and hope you will have a great time listening.
The charity he chose for this week's donation from Blame it on Buffett is the Alzheimer's Association and you can check them out here: https://www.alz.org/

Hello phriends! Do you love amazing music? Do you love Jimmy Buffett connections? Do you love ALL THE PUNS? Then you are going to love this episode! My guests this week are Mick Utley, Brendan Mayer, and Erin McAnally, also known as the new band Floating Collective. Their single On the Run is the kind of music I love, with a Folk/Americana feel and lots of awesome harmonies, so I was super excited to get to chat with them about it. We talk about what inspires their music, what it was like growing up as kids of the Coral Reefers, and of course I had to get in a question about their beverages of choice. Be sure to stick around after the interview to hear their single, On the Run!
The charity they chose for this episode's donation from Blame it on Buffett is MusiCares, an organization dedicated to providing a safety net of critical health and welfare services to the music community. Hello Phriends! I am super excited about this week's guest Tony Head because I read his book Driftwood: Stories from the margarita road and I honestly loved it. It is fiction, but inspired by his real life experience of owning a little bar and hotel in in Playa del Carmen Mexico. It is poignant and funny, and a real portrait of the characters one meets in the expat life. Tony also loves Jimmy Buffet and he and his wife have let Jimmy's lyrics inspire their travels and adventures. If you have ever thought about travelling to places mentioned in Jimmy's music, or running away to live a life in paradise, this episode is for you! Also, margarita recipes are involved. You are not going to want to miss it!

Hello phriends! My guest this week is Hank Harawood, one of the co-hosts of the new Buffett related podcast Under 40 Victims of Fate. In a classic amateur hour move I totally forgot to give him a chance to plug the socials for the podcast so please make sure you go check them out at the various links below! This was a fun, truly Buffett focused chat and in the second half of the podcast we really deep dive into what it means to be a JB fan, the different types of fans, and why it really hurts when people say they love or don't love Jimmy because of Margaritaville. It was an eye-opening conversation for me and I think if you are a Jimmy fan, you will find it super interesting too!
The charity Hank chose is Catering to Cats and Dogs, and animal related charities are always close to my heart, so please go check them out here: https://c2cnd.org/

I'm back baby! Thanks for hanging in there while I hibernated for a bit over the winter, but I am back and will hopefully be bringing you episodes more regularly. This week my guest is Danny Lynn from Tiki Man Radio, who in addition to running a radio station, also puts on a songwriters showcase in Key West, and all kinds of other fun escapism adjacent things! It was really interesting to hear about the process for choosing songs and how each radio station in the Trop Rock/Coastal Americana genre brings something different to the table. So even if you are a fan of one of the other stations, give Tiki Man Radio a listen too!
I apologize for the audio quality during the interview, for some reason my mic didn't engage properly so I think it just recorded on the computer mic, which is not as great. But oh well, as Jimmy says: Breathe in, breathe out, move on!

I am super excited to have Delaney Buffett as my guest this week! We talk all about her contribution to Jimmy's recent Songs You Don't Know By Heart video series, but also about her own film work, and fun stuff like her favorite places to travel and what it is like to have people named after you. It was just a real pleasure chatting with her! This week my guests are the lovely trop rock duo B-Man and mi-Shell! They are both retired from the Air Force and are now down in Key West playing music and living the good life. We talk about how they got their catchy nicknames, the great virtual shows they have been putting on this year, and so much more! Be sure to check out their youtube channel and hit subscribe to support them. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC0NldrHyZsR8QkSInynqNRQ
This episode is also the introduction of my new idea for bringing the purpose to "party with a purpose" for this podcast. Every episode I will have the guest pick their favorite charity and then the podcast (which is just me, haha), will be making a donation to that charity! So for each new episode there will be a great charity for us all to learn about and donation will be made. I am pretty excited about it and I hope you are too. For anyone who is choosing to use that Support button on anchor and helping to support this podcast financially, thank you so much and please know that part of your donations are helping to support these awesome causes as well.

My guest on this episode is Helen Kendra, also known as Helen the Welsh Parrot Head! She is a major parrot head, frequenter of the Paris and UK JB shows, and admin for the Parrotheads in Paris facebook group. It was so interesting to get to talk to a JB fan from another country and hear what their experience is like compared to being a fan here in America. We also chat about her scuba diving with shark adventures and the first time she met the man himself, Jimmy Buffett!

Eddie is a huge Jimmy Buffett fan but that's not all! He is also an environmental engineer, retired from a career in the military, lives in Key West and owns a sailing charter company there, has been on the board for the Surfrider Foundation, and has been to many JB shows including the one in Paris. He really is the whole Parrot Head package! As usual, it was super awesome to get to just chat about my love for Jimmy's music for an hour and hear so many great stories from a fellow fan. If you are a big Parrot Head, this is the episode for you!

Vinnie LaSorsa has been a boat captain for Jimmy Buffett for years and just recently they started Last Mango Boatworks which is an awesome brand that donates their proceeds to charity. Captain Vinnie and I chat about Last Mango and the causes behind it, Jimmy's different boats, and even what it is like to see sharks out on their fishing trips! Vinnie also shares his favorite hang outs in Key West and Nantucket. I hope you will consider checking out Last Mango Boatworks and maybe buying some rad stuff because it really is for a good cause!
