Fearless Lesson 7 with Jim Beckman!
Romans 8:35 “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or the sword? As it is written, ‘For your sake we are being killed all day long; we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.’ No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other thing in creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

In Lesson 6, Chris and Paul J. Kim address one of the most relevant and incessant fears facing each of us today: the fear of being canceled. We want to be liked. We all have a yearning to be acknowledged, accepted, and affirmed. The question is where do we take this desire to be fulfilled? To others, to our social media platforms, or to God?

In this episode, Chris and exorcist Fr. Chad Ripperger zero in on a topic that can seem scary and intimidating at first but is another area in which Jesus is ultimately in control: spiritual warfare. Together they expose the devil’s goal in each of our lives: to destroy us by using fear as a weapon. “The thief comes to steal, kill and destroy,” Jesus teaches us in John 10:10. But in the same verse he goes on to say, “I have come that they might have life, and have it to the full.” Our very lives are at stake in this spiritual battle within us, accurately called warfare.

In Fearless Lesson 4, we face the ultimate fear: death. This may be the shortest lesson in the series, but it may prove to be the most difficult to listen to. The fear of death is one that most of us want to avoid thinking about altogether. Nothing puts life in perspective quite like the reality of death. Having an open heart to face our fear of death in the presence of Jesus will yield in us a new fervor and gratitude for life, and a more courageous approach to death as a pathway to victory and true life. Sarah Kirchner is a witness of someone who lived in the reality of the Resurrection. She shares her journey of how she went from being a lukewarm Christian to finding Jesus in the midst of illness and suffering, and how she embraced the courage of final victory in Jesus Christ, who won Heaven for us through His own death and resurrection. James 1:2: “Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness.”

In this Episode of Fearless we move beyond identifying the biggest fears that threaten us (Lesson 2), into equipping ourselves for the counterattack. Chris and Fr. Dave present an ancient spiritual exercise for conquering fears, inspired by the desert father Evagrius of Pontus: ‘talk back’ to them with Scripture.
