Today, I’m sharing a behind-the-scenes look into a very typical work week for me as a mom, as a business owner who works from home, and as a woman in the new baby and toddler phase of parenting. Most podcasters don't earn as much as they could from their show. In fact, many smaller podcasts don't make any money at all, which is one reason why so many podcasters quit. Today, I’m talking about how making money from podcasting goes beyond just getting sponsors for ads. For smaller podcasts with less than a thousand downloads per episode, you likely won’t make enough on sponsorships for running a show to be “worth it” which is one of the reasons so many podcasters quit.

If we’re all just being honest, productivity just doesn’t look the same in the before and after of motherhood. But often you’re not told that as a new mama, you’re just told “productivity hacks for moms” and that you’ll “feel like your old self” eventually and to “sleep when the baby sleeps” (but also try working during nap time).
But here’s the problem: sometimes this can sound like you need to keep doing the same things as you did before you were a mother. And in my experience, it just doesn’t work that way - which is something I REALLY wish I had understood before becoming a mom. It would have saved me from the PRESSURE I felt to “get things done” the way I did before.
So whether you’re a new mom, an expecting mom, or a mom of a few kiddos, today I want to casually chat about what productivity might mean in this season of your life as a mom to little kids who also has a business and wears a lot of hats!

At the time of recording this, I’ve been a part of a monthly book club since December of 2021 and we’ve met a total of 31 times since we started! Last year, we even had a “book club retreat” where we got to hang out outside of our usual meetings and honestly, it was so much fun.
Being able to start a book club and just have FUN with it has been such a blessing, so if you’ve been looking to start something like this (or you’re part of a book club already and want some tips for keeping it fun and still going strong!), you’re going to love today’s episode. I’ve made some really strong friendships in it too.
I feel like everybody needs a book club like this (regardless of whether or not you are a “big reader” yet and I know my friends agree!
My goal for this episode is to show you how to start a book club and keep it going so that it quickly becomes a favorite part of the month for everyone!
