It is estimated that the average household has the television on for more than seven and a half hours a day. What a colossal waste of time! Television programming has become more worldly, and the goals have television producers have also changed over time. We should 'stop watching other people live their dreams on television, and start living some of our own.'

Sometimes, life doesn’t go exactly as planned. The fact is, in spite of our best efforts, real life can be tough and living the gospel can be difficult. Like Paul’s analogy of putting on the whole armor of God, armor isn’t designed for comfort. The armor of God is meant to protect us.

As an experienced seminary teacher and creator of multimedia projects for the Church Educational System, popular speaker Andy Horton knows the importance of helping youth stay clean. In Getting Past Imperfect, Brother Horton uses just the right amount of humor and enlightening experiences to teach teens to follow the Savior’s invitation to “Repent, … and come unto me . . . that ye may stand spotless before me at the last day” (3 Nephi 27:20). “We all do dumb things and end up in the pit of life,” says Brother Horton. “Changing our lives through the Savior is the only thing that can get us out of the pit and help us become clean and spotless again.”
