Welcome back to the BT Basketball Podcast. Episode 7 features former Pope John star and current Holy Cross player, Matt Zignorski. Matt helped the Lions to win a state championship and make the Tournament of Champions final game a few years back. After an illustrious HS career, he has continued this success trend at the next level, getting meaningful minutes as a freshman throughout the year and in both NCAA March Madness games they played in. His role is increasing this year and we expect that trend to continue for this lights out shooter. We not only discuss his PJ and HC experiences, but also delve into his personal workouts and some of his favorite drills. Think you know which team was the best high school basketball team he was on? Think again! Listen also to find out how important diet and recovery have become to him, and why it should to you as well. Form shooting is dead? I don't think so. Finally, you will really enjoy his advice to young people striving to make it big, just as he has.
I personally truly enjoyed this conversation. There are so many pearls of wisdom in here that I'm going to have to go back again and listen to it again myself! Don't delay, this is a must listen for basketball players of all ages. Not just for all the basketball insight, but how to carry yourself as well.
Enjoy, and please share!

Episode 6 of the BT Basketball Podcast is here! In this solo conversation it's time to lay down on the psychologist couch! Together we will delve into the most destructive element of any basketball players game at any age! It's not missed shots, turnovers or anything physical at all. It's way deeper and much more disastrous for any young basketball player.
It's the inability to play in the moment. To play in the present tense. To move on from mistakes.
We diagnose this problem and go on to give you a four part doctor's prescription so you can fix it. If you can unlock these mental and emotional keys, your efficiency as a basketball player will go through the roof. I warn you though, tackling anything between the ears is way more difficult than dealing with your physical body alone. And that is PRECISELY why the upside is so great!
In order to reach your full potential as a basketball player, whether you are here in New Jersey, somewhere else across this glorious country, or even at another end of the globe, it is an absolute must that you learn how to improve your mental game. One incredible way to bridge the talent gap is to simply be better, be smarter, be more self aware. Understand how to get from committing a mistake to getting back into (or even staying in) the present moment and you will be stunned how your joy for the game increases as well.
So grab a seat, lay your head back. It's you and me for a bit. Time to dissect.

Welcome back everyone. So excited for you to hear this next episode of the BT Basketball Podcast. For this show I am happy to welcome Jefferson HS boys basketball coach Joe DiGennaro. Coach D is entering his 20th year as head coach and has many a story to tell. I have known Coach for a number of years now and chose to have him on as our first guest coach for a number of reasons and none of them have to do with wins and losses. He has had great success on the court, not just producing numerous 1,000 point scorers and individual success, but also has amassed an impressive number of wins, state tournament runs, and much more. Despite that, what has always struck me most about Coach D is off the court. The relationships that he has established with his players over the years, the culture he has created, in my book, easily surpasses x's and o's on the court. We get into this topic as the conversation goes along and I think you will truly enjoy his perspective on the game, on and off the court. Most of you probably don't know that Joe D was a 1,000 point scorer in HS himself. We delve into that career as a young player, how and why he got started in the game and how his passion for the game endured even after his college career got cut short. We have some fun as well diving deep deep deep into the Joe D playlist and touching on some classics in the movie department. Young players and aspiring coaches listen up. THIS is the mindset and perspective in which you coach a group of young men. There is a lot to be learned here. Me included!

Some include the keys his success as well as his advice for young people on and off the court. Zach is the hardest working player that I've ever personally worked with and it is that desire and work ethic that has taken him to the level that he now resides. Enjoy!
