This mix is from the last show in August, but since we already have an August release out there it's more of a peak into the upcoming September mix.
The beginning of the mix is like the start of the night. A nod to those minimal deep rolling, chugging sounds you hear when you first get to the club.
We then have a flurry of vocal tunes thanks to Martin Evans (Brum's finest) who was in the chat room asking for female vocals again (he asks every time, sometimes I listen :))
We then get a little chunky with some solid floor stompers.
The mix ends with a couple of older tunes. The first is from the 90's an excellent Curtis & Moore remix of Sandy B's "Make The World Go Round". The second is from 2001 courtesy of Bob Sinclar. I first heard this track on the excellent Ministry Sessions 12 (The Magic Sessions) - Louie Vega's mix. Not sure why I've never played it in a mix before.
AND in doing the tracklisting for this release I just realised that I played a song twice in the mix!! See if you can spot it.

This is a recording from a show I did recently for SoulfulHouseDJs in the UK.
My friend Will Nice has a slot on Sundays and asked me to cover for a couple of weeks.
Two became three and this mix is from the third show. The show was at 9pm Sunday night in Sydney where I am, but only 12pm Sunday lunchtime in the UK. As a result the mix stays very much on the soulful, vocal vibe out of respect.
There were one or two technical issues during the show as it was a live stream on Mixcloud. I was scrambling about checking things and moving cameras in between mixes. Luckily you can't tell when listening to the mix, although there are more naked beats than I would have liked.
Big thank you to everyone that came down to Larry's Herd at the Lord Roberts on Sunday. It was such a great vibe and I really enjoyed spinning vinyl for everyone. Next event is mid August, check out the Larry's Herd FB page for more details.

Back after six weeks off the airwaves. Internet problems, still ongoing but workable this week.
It's actually a pretty chilled mix this month. The mix opens with lush deep vibes courtesy of Jimpster. We build gently with jazzy vibes along the way, the odd sing along here and there.
The main part of the mix again has a UK feel, with those bumpy skippy warm beats.
I really thought I was going to run out of new music and have to blend towards the end, but it worked out almost perfectly.
Happy to report that I am involved in a few nights here in Sydney. Open House is shaping up to be a monthly event at The Barrie, featuring South African sounds, phunky house, latin vibes and UK beats. Larry's Herd is another new night with a focus on 90's deep house and disco sounds. Finally there is Boogie which ended its tenure at the picturesque Ivy Pool Club. I'm looking forward to seeing where they call home next summer. If you're in the Sydney please come and support so that we can have cool music and nice things in our city.

This months show is a mix of new and nearly new.
It was recorded during last weeks show on Pressure Radio and was not a new release destined for a podcast rollout. However I tried to play all of the tracks from the last couple of months that I bought but have yet to play. The result is a decent mix different enough to stand on it's own.
The mix opens with three tracks from the same Italian artist - Key Tronics Ensemble from 89-92.
Very different tracks that sounded great played together. We continue with a mix of new tracks and ones from the last couple of mixes, finishing off with MAW latest.
The mix is shorter than usual due to a couple of technical difficulties at the start that prevented me from starting for half an hour.
I will try to get another show out in May with new tracks. Wish me luck!
For anyone in Sydney, you can catch me at Ivy Pool Club on June 1st alongside Nukewood, Cally & JerkBoy. You can get tickets here: https://bit.ly/boogiejun1

This mix should have really been March 24 as it was recorded during the last show of the month. However I didn't get round to mastering it until April and it makes no sense to release a mix in April and call it March.
I found it difficult to connect with Soulful House and House releases last month. As a result this mix is mainly deep mixed with UKG. There are a couple of classics towards the end, one an original, the other another remake, but a very good one.
Big shout to Danny J Lewis, hugely underrated in my opinion. We have three of his tracks in this mix which is a difficult thing to achieve.
I have finally started making moves towards production. It's crazily overdue but I've bitten the bullet so I'm gonna have a crack. I'll keep you updated on my progress.
I'm lucky enough to be closing after the legend that is Victor Simonelli this Saturday @ Boogie here in Sydney. I grew up listening to his classics in the early-mid nineties so it's a huge honour to be taking over the decks from him. As you can imagine there will be a lot of crate digging this next week.
Finally a big shout out to Luke Una who played an amazing six and a half hour set last night in Sydney. Incredible ear for music, he had the place rockin' from beginning to end. Legend.

Here we go with the first mix of 2024. Half of the tunes have been sitting in my Traxsource basket since January, some since December! I'll be honest I wasn't feeling the urge to put a new mix out. The music wasn't inspiring enough. The radio shows were more nostalgic and I got back into rediscovering my older music and mixes. I did actually do this mix two weeks earlier on the previous show but my mixer was playing up and causing the tracks to skip which made mixing almost impossible. The flow wasn't quite right though, a couple of big juicy tracks made an appearance waaay too early. That was the only change made for this mix.
We start off with a tribal feel for the first three tracks before hitting the soulful stuff. The main body of the mix has that tried and tested rolling, bumpy warm feel that has you involuntarily tapping those toes and nodding your noggin. There are three great remakes of old classics that I'm sure everyone knows. I don't normally go in for remakes as they often fall short of the original but these have been done really well. The chunky part of the mix peaks with Deetron's excellent 'Runnin' with its big piano keys. We have a longer than usual come down ending with Riva Starr's 'How It Feels'.
Lucky enough to be warming up for Lenny Fontana next weekend at the Ivy Pool Club. This summer has been amazing for the quality of DJs passing through. Can't wait to see who I get to play alongside in the remaining months before things quieten down over winter.

Longer than normal mix this month. Music shopping was slow after searching soulful house, garage and deep house and I was starting to worry. Then along came house and everything changed. I went from having not enough music for a show to way too much. It took longer to download and I ended up being 10 minutes late for the start of the radio show. I played longer to make up for it and so we have a mix that's 2hr 18m long.
There is a lot of energy in this mix because of the extra lashings of house. The chatroom was busy and there were great listener numbers on the outside, everything just came together.
Remakes are the big thing in the house scene right now with many 90's and 00's classics getting another run with remixes by newer producers. There are a few in the mix, you'll recognise the vocals at least.
I've started releasing on Soundcloud again with a paid subscription so no limit to how many mixes I can host there. If the you like your music streaming orange then I got you covered. www.soundcloudcom/c2emusic

This is the recording from the RFOX VALT VR club event I did on the 27th October.
It's essentially a virtual nightclub in the middle of a virtual world created by Sydney based RFOX.
Anyone can come along, especially for anyone with an Oculus headset.
I'm looking forward to doing future events and I'll keep you posted on my FB & Insta accounts (www.facebook.com/c2eMusic & @richiec2emusichaynes).
It's a short sprint of a mix at just an hour but I still managed to pack plenty of goodness inside.
The opening track is one I remember from back at the start of my clubbing days in the early 90's.
It was a popular last track of the night because of the way it opens. They sadly don't make em like this anymore.
Next event for me is in Sydney on 24th November. I'll confirm the venue closer to the date.
Tracklisting:
1: Clivilles & Cole - A Deeper Love (A Deeper Feeling Mix)

This mix was heading in the "for my ears only" box as I didn't get a warm fuzzy at the end of the show. I wasn't happy with the flow and there were a couple of key clashes that made my bum whistle that little bit higher.
However my partner fell in love with it over the following weekend. She pleaded with me to release it, "it needs to be heard" she said. I continued to listen to it over and over and as is usually the case it grew on me.
At the same time I played a set at a cool swanky rooftop pool club in Sydney and used a bunch of the tracks from the mix. This time I was very happy with how it flowed and so I had managed to scratch that itch. As a result I'm excited to get this original mix out as it is quite different to the Boogie @ Ivy session.
I am always looking for feedback (not that I get much) and would love to know whether you think I should have kept this mix in the box or not. Don't worry I won't get upset, but it is nice to hear from others, and I respect your judgement, I mean some of you have been on this journey for over fifteen years now!!! That blows my mind, I'll be honest.
I'm starting to put on regular events in Sydney, so any of you down here can come out and dance to this music with us. I'm hoping to build a nice little community of people that appreciate this range of dance music, maybe even educate the little ones about life beyond Tech House!
Next event - Stanley's on Stanley - 28th October 6-12am. It's free and I'll be joined by DJ Nycks from Underground Jack and Birmingham's finest Mr Gary Ward of Body People fame. I believe in a fewer DJ's with more time policy. It's how it used to be, and it worked better than the one hour rodeo we have these days. Give us time to settle in and we'll take you on a journey.
As always a HUGE thank you to everyone that joins me for the live show on Pressure (Alternate Thursday's 12-2pm UK). Special shout out to the chatroom crew, you know who you are.

This is a recording of a set I recently played at a really cool rooftop club in Sydney.
It was the warm up set, which is perfect because you have the freedom to choose how to go from zero to everyone warming up on the dancefloor.
The set is a mix of new tracks that you'll hear in the upcoming c2eMusic podcast for October and some of my favourite tunes of 2023.
I'll be playing for Underground Jack at Stanley's in Sydney on Oct 28th. It's free so no excuses! It sees me reunited with my good friend DJ Nycks for the first time since Covid closed everything down. Also joining us on the night are Gary Ward and Chic Daddy DJ.
I'll be back at Stanley's again on Nov 24th (Friday) joined by Gary Ward, Steve Robinson and Chic Daddy. December 2nd I'm back at the Ivy Pool Club again.

As you can imagine I never set out to create a "munted" mix, but it provides a way for me to release mixes that I feel don't meet my usual standards. There could be a couple of ropey transitions or as is the case with this mix, too many naked beats, usually the result of the transition not being tight enough.
The reason this mix is munted is because it's the first one in my new house. The new music room was only put together an hour before the the show. Acoustics still not sorted, but enough done to be able to do my show on Pressure. I started the show with no intention of releasing the mix, I just wanted to get through the show without any technical issues.
The reason I am releasing this mix is simple, there are some great tunes in it!!
Neensy, my partner in crime, was upstairs listening to the mix and begged me to release it. Every time we listened to it she would tell me to put it out there for others to enjoy, so here it is! If you love it, you can thanks Neens.
The mix contains a couple of tracks I've bought in the past but never actually played in a show.
There is a fresh cut in there too, I got the latest promo Mind State ft Tess Leah - For You from Sy Sez's label Raising Records earlier that day, classic new UK soulful house vibe.
Mix opens with the same track I played on my first Pressure Radio show. So many memories locked up with that tune.

The August mix in recent years (excluding Covid) has become the Suncebeat mix as it's the first mix after the festival. This year marked the last time Suncebeat will be held in Croatia, or the Tisno Gardens at least. It was the fourteenth event which is incredible and shows the quality of the week long soulful house spectacular.
It was the quietest in terms of numbers that I've been to and this was my fifth one. What that meant though was the DJ/Punter ratio was awesome. Seemed everywhere you looked legends of the scene were connecting with everyone and were really accessible.
The highlights for me included meeting Martin Atjazz and Osunlade (both whom had a huge influence on the c2eMusic sound over the years), grabbing a picture with Osunlade, Spen and Rich Medina, catching up with The Journeymen, Joe Cox and Andy Ward and connecting with Danny T. I was also encouraged to see the youngsters representing, having met the Coughlan Brothers, Ryan and Jay, as well as Noah Herel (yes Ronnie's son) on the Deep Into Soul boat party.
I was lucky enough to then catch Noah put down a killer set for Mi-Soul later that night alongside his very proud dad. The pair smashed it with Noah only having a few months of DJing under his belt! Kenny Dope smashed it at the Olive Grove for Terry Hunter's Chosen Few night. It's funny I was always a Louie fan growing up, but more recently Kenny has blown me away everytime I've heard him. I think it says more about my own personal musical journey moving from the more soulful to a deeper more twisted sound. Not to be outdone, Spen put on his own night of magic at the Olive Grove with Dawn Tallman and Aaron K providing a performance to remember together at the end of the night. It was one of those "I was there" moments that you knew was special as it unfolded in front of you.
Biggest surprise were Analog Soul out of NY, playing on the Beach Stage on Friday night. I'd never come across them before but there set was amazing. The flow was great, but their tune selection was second to none, at least for my taste and preference anyway. They certainly found a new fan right here.
Back to the mix and I have to say it doesn't sound like a regular c2eMusic mix. It's very laid back and chill for the most part. I was worried it might not have enough energy but I can't sit still listening to it. It has a very grown up mature feel to it which feels alien to me (I am after all just a big 48 year old man-child in many ways).
I initially wasn't going to release this mix, some of the transitions aren't quite what I'd have liked and I couldn't find a track to end on that brings us back down safely! However, after listening through a couple of times it feels wrong to hold it back when the tunes themselves are cool af.

Midway through 2023 so no better reason to do a best of (so far). This podcast pulls from the last six mixes Jan-Jun cherry picking the some of my favourites so far this year. It's been a pretty good year for music so far, it wasn't easy choosing which tracks to play, although it was all done on the fly so it was dependent on the vibe and feel of the mix.
The chatroom was packed, soooo grateful to the regulars that join every fortnight. They absolutely influence the tracks I play.
Not much more to say about the mix, I mean you've heard all the tracks before and hopefully most of your favourites made it into the mix.
I'm off to Europe for the rest of July taking in nine cities in 17 days! Can't wait to catch up with family and friends, some of whom I have seen for over 17 years. One of the highlights of the trip is Suncebeat 14 which is confirmed as the last Croatia based Suncebeat. It's always such an amazing experience, soulful househeads from all over the world coming together to enjoy the sun, sounds and great company.
If you are going and you see me, come say hi.

Wow, where do we start with this little badger. It almost never happened due to some technical issues during the show. I had played around with the settings in Butt that week before and hadn't put them back. So for the first 50 minutes of the show everyone was listening to the mic on my Mac! Yes, they heard the music albeit grainy and muffled, but they also heard me singing, talking and carrying on like a loon while I worked through different transitions on the fly with my new tunes.
Thankfully it didn't affect the recording, so here we are.
This months mix is a real spread of sub-genres. We start off deep, I mean DEEP. Next came the Afro/Arabic beats on the way to the usual deep smooth UK stuff. The middle part of the mix sounds a nice drive through the countryside on a summers day. All is right in the world, windows down, feeling the breeze. Things then toughen up as you'd expect on this journey with some chunky monkeys, Milton Jackson the chunkiest monkey of them all. Groove Assassin's awesome remix of Hallelujah has been smashing up UK dance floors for a while now and for good reason. Set to be the sound of Summer 23 for sure.
Big shout to Ralph Session - on fire right now. Three of his latest releases feature in the mix, all very different.
Busy weekend for me playing vinyl with Klubhouse @ Camperdown Commons on Saturday 10th, followed by a warm up set for Honky Tonk @ Tatler on Sunday night. In between i'll be raving with Sydney's old skool crew at MoS Love & Sabotage.
Props to Chic Daddy DJ, DJ Nycks and Neens for input.

May is a birthday double header in the Haynes house. This year it's a special one as my eldest turns 16 allowing him to drive!! I'm so proud of the young man he's becoming. He really is a chip off the old block, so much so that he has just gotten into vinyl and is now showing interest in DJing and production. He even joined me in the music closet for this weeks show to see how it all works! The mix cover is AI generated pics of Bailey as a wee baby.
The other birthday is mine as I head towards the mid century award. This time it's 48, a number that sounds a LOT older than I feel (and look :)) .
The mix opens with two classics from the early mid 90's. The first is Gigolo Supreme aka Frankie Feliciano with Gigolo's Anthem. The second is the classic Strictly release "The Theme" by Loop 7, non other than Satoshi Tomiie! We come back to the present but in the same vibe building slowly across the first hour.
The second hour has much more urgency about it with more of a UK garage flava, The intensity continues to build until we get to a mental track by DJ Dove. I can't stop singing "Bussit" and I've only had it just over 24hrs. The mix signs off with another track paying homage to the past. This time it's Mood II Swing's "Do It Your Way" being honoured. A track that I can still remember hearing for the first time back in the UK in 02, some six years after it's initial release.
I always do my mixes on the fly with new barely heard tracks these days. It creates a real adrenalin rush because I just don't know if the next track will keep the mix heading in the right direction. I am hearing the mix and the tunes for the first time like everyone else listening. It often makes me worry that this is the month I'm not able to put out a mix out I'm happy with, and this month I had little faith until maybe 20 minutes in.
In the end I had nothing to worry about. By the end of the show I knew I had a great little mix, but after hearing it back a couple of times I feel really proud. I've done this so many times now I almost take it for granted which would be wrong. I'm grateful to be able to keep doing this and keep finding wonderment and happiness in the journey and output.
That there are people all over the world that also share a love for the same vibe and are able to share a connection through this music is humbling and one of the things that keeps me going.
So thank you again for your continued support, downloading and hopefully getting as much pleasure listening as I do creating.

Well I will open by saying this mix feels very different to most c2eMusic sessions. Yes there is a nice spread of sub genres and yes there is a nice flow through them all. However there is more straight up house in the second half. I'm really keen to hear what you think of it. I must admit it's growing on me, but then I did choose the tracks and mix it (albeit on the fly as usual).
Noticing an uptick in latin vibes across all genres. Looks like the Latin house 20 yr cycle is warming up - move over disco! It's about 20 years ago that everything seemed to have that latin percussive beat and the music sounded full to the brim with sunshine and good times. I'll be honest I've been looking forward to the latin train coming through for a while, all the deep and tech house can get so serious and moody sometimes. Nice to be able to lighten things up. That said there isn't much sign of the new sound in this mix, but it's coming!!
Thank you to everyone that continues to download/play and support. Numbers are again on the rise which is great. So much choice out there these days compared to when I started back in 07, so I appreciate you sticking with me on this loooooooong musical journey together. It's not possible to please everyone every month as we all have our preferences but hopefully you can hear all of the styles through the years in most mixes. I'm not one to drop old genres for the latest trend. Much more fun and challenging blending them all together, but I think the result are mixes that stand the test of time.
Lastly I have to give a big shout out to the one and only Grant Nelson. His track "Relentless" is currently sitting at #1 on Traxsource. The first time a UKG track has held the overall #1 spot. It is a beast of a tune though.
I have the chance to play a vinyl only set this weekend which I can't wait for. If you're in Sydney swing by Stanley's and say hi.

First up I want to give a big shout out to this weeks crew in the chat room. The ever reliable Mr David Smith whom I've known since I was 16! Chucky (Mr Congas) a fine upstanding Englishman now calling Sydney home. Steve (DJDippedInDeep), fellow Pressure Radio DJ whose supported since my early days on Pressure. Neensy, my partner in crime and one of the most amazing people I've ever known. Last but by no means least Della Benz who I first spoke to back in 2012! She is responsible for the last track of the mix. During the show she mentioned an opening track from a mix around 2011. Toward the end of the show she found it, the rest is already history!
As with most c2eMusic mixes of the last 10 years this was another last minute shopping spree 30 minutes before the show followed by a live seat of the pants musical adventure. I'm really happy with the result. It feels different to most c2eMusic mixes, can't put my finger on it, but it does. Let me know if you agree, and why that is.
Finally I'd like to give a couple of big shouts out to a coupe of producers featured in the mix. First up is my mate Steve Robinson who hails from Merseyside not too far from where I grew up. Now calling Sydney home Steve has a formidable work ethic, seemingly making music from dusk till dawn. Both tracks from his latest release "Worth The Wait EP" are right up my alley. Looking forward to what's to come from this rising star.
Next is a DJ/Producer that needs no introduction to Kiwis. DJ Dick Johnson aka Magik J another ex Brit now living this side of the equator. He was the resident DJ at the club I went to when I was 16 (yes I know I started young). He got me into the US Garage sound back in 91 and I've never looked back. His track "Into The Groove (String Mix)" is a return to his Blackpool roots and is currently tearing up floors around the world.
Props to Tony Garcia and Steve Robinson for playing great music out and about in Sydney this month. Heard a couple of these tunes from you guys playing them. Thank you for introducing me to them.
Remember if there is an old c2eMusic mix that's no longer available in iTunes etc reach out and I'll prioritise to get it loaded next.

Getting back into the groove and loving it.
Reconnected my Podcast with iTunes this week. Numbers have soared since, made me realise how important a platform like iTunes can be. Now I am discoverable again to new people and even appear on the first page of search results for soulful, deep or even house music! That's only possible with the support of you guys over the years so a BIG thank you.
This months mix has a lot of energy from early on and doesn't relinquish it until right near the end. Some fun interesting tracks in the mix from a range of sub-genres made this a cool mix to do live on the radio show.
I'm slowly continuing to re-release the back catalogue from pre 2012. Long way to go as I'm finding new covers for them and remastering to make them louder.
I have also started to release previously unreleased Pressure Radio shows from the last couple of years. I was holding them back because they are not perfect, but I need to not be so precious and let you hear them as they are.
Keep your eye out, there will be stuff released every week.

I was prompted to do a vinyl show by the Klubhouse guys here in Sydney who had their first Vinyl night this last weekend. So in classic c2eMusic (and Richie Haynes in general) style grabbed a handful of tunes just before the show and jumped right in.
Vinyl mixing requires a lot more attention and skill than digital and whilst it's like riding a bike it still takes a couple of mixes to settle you down and get into the groove. Add to that the additional overhead of running a live radio show and interacting in the chat room and you end up with a real adrenalin packed two hours.
I am always concious of which tunes I've used in previous mixes to try and bring you different stuff each time. That said there are always my favourites that I can't resist dropping. I'm sure you regulars can spot those by now.
Hoping to be able to spin live with Klubhouse in 2023 which will mean I get back into my vinyl collection, resulting in more vinyl shows and mixes. This is a good opener to the vinyl series and hopefully you hear some of your favourites from back in the day. I stopped buying vinyl in 2005, so everything will be at least that old, but some of the best music in house is pre 05 so we should be in great shape.
