Originally a professional ballet dancer, Kathryn was born in Melbourne, Australia in 1968 and came to Europe as such in 1987. She worked with Ismael Ivo in Vienna and spent some years with Tanz Theater Hamburg, but after the experience she had in her first Feldenkrais Workshop - which she shares with us in this podcast interview - she immediately knew that she had found her true calling.
From 1995-1999 she participated in her first Feldenkrais Training, Ubbergen 6, taught by Mia Segal. She has been a passionate and dedicated Feldenkrais teacher ever since and works extensively in her own practice in Hamburg, as well as internationally as an Assistant within Feldenkrais Professional Training Programs.
Kathryn is also active in the German guild and believes service to the community to be an essential part of professional practice. With over 20 years of experience, Kathryn is committed to contributing to and supporting processes of reflection and development for students, teachers, graduates and Trainings in an international, modern day context.
But most of all, she is passionate about learning and movement, and fascinated by the way this wonderful method can be used as a means for growth and personal development. Kathryn hopes to inspire with her authenticity and enthusiasm.

Reimond ::: Begeisterter Feldenkrais Lehrer mit 74 Jahren by Christina Petersen
-
Christina Clar studied sculpture and works in the fields of performance, events, installations and urban interventions. She buids spaces with sound and images, using architecture, physical interventions, poetry, and media to blur the boundaries between projected and so-called real images. Collaboration is an essential part of her work: she has worked with artists, performers, composers, musicians, and architects in the fields of stage design, music, performance, and audio/video at Europe's major opera houses as well as alternative venues, wastelands, and the countryside.
The confrontation with her own illness as well as caring for her mother suffering from cancer developed her understanding of body and mind as a path of learning. Further trainings include Contact Improvisation, Axis Syllabus, Alexander Technique, the Gindberg Method and systemic constellations. Parallel to her artistic work she develops music and movement workshops with young people and persons with disabilities in Europe and Australia and follows the training to become a Feldenkrais practicioner.

Francie White achieved her Ph.D. in mathematics from the University of Oklahoma in 1992. Living in her head took a toll on her body. She had also experienced early childhood trauma.
She began working with a Feldenkrais® practitioner, Dr. Leah Berne, in 2009 who turned out to be a retired Jungian analyst. She said that the body holds trauma.
Francie spent seven years working with Dr. Berne and started the Feldenkrais training in 2015 in Eugene, Oregon. She finished in 2018 and immediately began training in Somatic Experiencing® from the work of Peter Levine. She finished that training in 2021.
She is also a certified practitioner of HeartMath®. Her greatest strength in her practice is the integrative nature of her training and experience.
She is currently in private practice in Eugene, Oregon and gives online movement classes and workshops on resolving trauma.

Dr. Rachel White Galvin is a freelance musician and movement maven. She has been playing viola and violin professionally for over 20 years. She studied with Helen Callus at UC: Santa Barbara where she received her Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Viola Performance.
Rachel’s true passion is musician’s health and fitness. She is a Guild Certified Feldenkrais Method Practitioner as well as a former Level 2 CrossFit Trainer. She also holds certifications from USA Weightlifting, Foundation Training, and Functional Movement Systems. For much of her career, she struggled with playing-related repetitive stress injuries, but found no real help from the many medical professionals she consulted. In frustration, she turned to rehabilitating herself through movement and exercise. Her experience with injury, and her passions for movement and music align in her practice of helping musicians who are in pain.

John Tarr studied Trombone Performance (Bachelor’s & Master’s degrees) in the USA. While working as a freelance musician, he attended a Feldenkrais Method (FM) workshop for musicians and realized that the FM held great potential for improving and maintaining musicians’ health. At first he was interested in working with preventing injuries but soon discovered that the FM also had much to offer in the way of enhancing performance. After completing a FM teacher training program, John began private practice in 1996.
Through his wide range of experience, he has been able to help many students find meaningful solutions for a wide variety of problems and difficulties. John has also taught weekly group classes (Awareness Through Movement) since 1996 and has presented the FM to music schools and institutions in Europe and the USA.
In 2004, he self-published a series of FM lessons specifically for musicians entitled, “The Dynamic Musician Series: Dynamic Posture and Breath, Volume 1” and Volume 2 in 2007. In 2006, he became an Assistant trainer and has since been teaching in various Feldenkrais Teacher Training Programs as well as teaching advanced training for practitioners in Europe and the USA.
In addition to working as a Feldenkrais Practitioner, John has remained active as a performing musician and teacher. In teaching trombone, and working with other musicians in his practice, his expertise is in using the FM to enhance learning and musical expression.
John is currently teaching brass instruments at Växjös Kulturskola (Växjö’s School of the Arts) in Sweden, where his current focus is on integrating his experience from the Feldenkrais Method into music pedagogy.
