As always we start with the academic side of the discussion by looking into the history of the various conditions and undiagnosed symptoms. Then we look to tackle the impact of religion and how each one has its own belief and understanding of possession, and more importantly how it deals with it.
Of course you cant look at something like possession and not look into the affect on mental health. Not just the personal impact on the sufferer but also the stigma surrounding it

Welcome to Season 2, Episode 9 of the Cryptid Ramblers Podcast. In this episode we are diving into another fabled cryptid, hotly linked to the focus of our last episode.
Steeped in history and legend, this creature can be found in folklore across Europe starting in Greece and their mythology and also being quite prominent in Norse mythology also in parts of Scandinavia.
As most people will know they are also linked heavily with Vampires, which is why in most pop culture references you cant have one with other. In this episode we discuss the similarities including a very condition that caused people to be accused of being both.

Reading Dr. Stephen Kaplans book "Vampires Are" we come across a thrilling encounter with a real life vampire by the name of Elizabeth. From their first encounter, through their many conversations to the ultimate conclusion, we break down this compelling story of this supposed 400 year old vampire.
This episodes keeps us firmly in the US as we dive deep into the Dr's book as well some additional bits of information that follows on from Part 1.

Welcome to season 2, episode 7 of the Cryptid Ramblers Podcast. In this episode we take a deep dive in the history, origin and folklore of Vampires. This time we are mostly covering countries within Eastern and Western Europe to begin our journey into this well known legend, however we are also taken further afield to the other side of the world for other potential stories of the Vampire.

Welcome to Season 2, Episode 6 of the Cryptid Ramblers Podcast. In this episode we take another trip to the other side of the world, back to a little island in the Caribbean.
Another local legend to Puerto Rico which has origins in French mythology. We also find ourselves in the US, UK and even Chile.
Many people think they will know what a Gargoyle is but you'll be surprised to learn it has links to other well known cryptids that we have covered previously. Not only do we go over sightings and encounters and of course the believed origins, we also have local knowledge. One of our listeners kindly translated local articles covering sightings from the island of Puerto Rico into English and provided a field report of evidence.

Welcome to Season 2, Episode 5 of the Cryptid Ramblers Podcast. In this episode we take a trip to the other side of world, but this time to a little island in the Caribbean.
A local legend, which also has ties with the US, captured our attention and we wanted to dive in straight away. Well known throughout the Caribbean and the Americas, we came across a lot of intriguing encounters, sightings and stories. One even provided by a listener of the podcast.
With two distinct descriptions of the creature we journeyed from little towns in Puerto Rico to a state in the US. From the first reported sighting in 1995 to a possible origin as far back as the 1970's we cover a whole variety of evidence that brings this creature into existence.
So join us as we delve into the intriguing world of El Chupacabra.

Welcome to Season 2, Episode 4 of the Cryptid Ramblers Podcast. In this episode we take a trip to a small town in Wisconsin, USA. There we dive into a local legend which has put the little town of Elkhorn, Walworth County on the map, attracting tourists and fans from far and wide. Yes, we are going down to Bray Road, in hunt of the infamous beast.
For over 80 years, this elusive beast has been terrorising the local community from sightings at the side of the road, to roaming the surrounding farm land and animal mutilations.
Drawing comparisons to the Dogman of Michigan we look into whether this is a beast of its own or whether it is one of the same. The first sighting stems from 1936 but it is believed that the beast has existed since the last 1800's.
So come and join us as we take another trip over the pond to investigate another local legend.

Welcome to Season 2 of the Cryptid Ramblers Podcast. We kick off this year of course with Episode 1 and we hope you are not disappointed.
Our research was initially looking into cave systems around the world and the strange goings on within them. Then we were both taken in a slightly different direction, with the further we got into it, the closer we found another subject matter. So letting the subject take us down a natural path, we ended up at what is quite a popular and interesting theory.
We were taken all around the world from the Arctic, Scandinavia and even parts of Europe, including the UK. We discuss real world evidence and expeditions, as well as sightings and interactions. There is even involvement from important figure heads from world leaders and politicians to top religious figures.
Join us as we delve into the possibility of there being an inner earth and whether we believe in such a possibility.

Welcome to another episode of the Cryptid Ramblers Podcast. In this episode we pick up where we left off last and dive into another watery set of creatures. This time we discuss the legendary mythical beings that are Sirens and Mermaids.
We spend most of our time exploring ancient Greece and diving deep into their origins. Covering their earliest depictions in art, moving slowly into literature whilst also uncovering the differences between creatures that were thought to be one of the same.
Much like the Mermaids each region in Greece has its own version and name, but luckily we don't go into each one. We find out that they might not be just physical beings but may take on a spiritual iteration.

Also known throughout history, they pop up in folklore from all around the world including the United kingdom, Europe and Asia. Of course the most famous iteration was arguably injected into pop culture by Hans Christian Anderson, his story was then of developed by Walt Disney.
Our research in this episode takes us all around the world with sightings in England, Scotland, Greece, Japan and many other countries around the world. Much like a lot of the cryptids we have already covered, each region has its own version of what we commonly know as a Mermaid.

Welcome to Episode Seventeen of the Cryptid Ramblers Podcast. In this episode we take a break from the epic deep dives and return to investigating a collective of cryptids. Previously we covered Goblins and Fairies and in this episode we look into the elusive and mischievous elves.
Known throughout our history and pop culture thanks to literary idols like Shakespeare, Rowling and Tolkien, we all think we know what elves are. Well in this episode we try to uncover the real history of elves and discover a real world origin.
Following our research we stay in the UK whilst also travelling to America and Indonesia unearthing tales, stories, discoveries and even evidence of the possible existence of this once mythical cryptid.
So join us on this journey across the globe as we follow the origins of Elves and see what we come up with. We can promise the usual banter, laughs, stories and for the first time, some real world evidence to add credence to this creature that was only ever found in fairy tales.
