With the arrival of #StarWarsCelebration 2025, we expect a tidal wave of news, updates, new content, new trailers, new collectables and items... everything. It's always an exciting time for #StarWars fans. This year, we also get a very special trailer release originating from outside of Disney's umbrella of Star Wars and outside of Star Wars Celebration. We got the release of #StarWarsTheory 's #Vader II episode. Come join Mike as he watches it for the first time and reacts.
Following that, Mike delves into many of the major announcements and trailers that are coming from Celebration. Though he wanted to share some of the private trailers that were released, and recorded by passionate fans that may or may not be breaking the rules... But, in an effort to avoid a copyright strike, he'll just talk briefly about them and hope they'll be public soon.

For this week's episode, the DetBlock Crew took a little different route. To start off, Mike opens his recent purchase from #TheorySaber, where he purchased a lightsaber #BOGO. Theory Saber is a company that was started up by Star Wars YouTuber #StarWarsTheory, who is considered the largest Star Wars YouTuber in the market. Mike has always wanted to get his hands on one of his sabers, since SWT was one of the main inspirations behind the creation of DetBlock, so he ordered the #Anakin #Skywalker replica version Ani III SE Proffie 36" blade saber. Being that it was a mystery BOGO, he had no idea what the other one would be. Come see which is the 2nd one he received!
They then transitioned to playing kind of a fun game of #WouldYouRather. Their answers definitely did not disappoint! Did they get a little inappropriate at times? Certainly. Probably a little further than "a little inappropriate". However, they meant no harm and were just having a little fun. Play along and include your responses in the comments! Quite a tragedy it was to hear about the loss of a great actor who portrayed many great roles in many great movies including #Iceman in #TopGun, #Batman / #BruceWayne in #BatmanForever, #JimMorrison in #TheDoors, Doc Holliday in #Tombstone, and many more. He was also up for the role of #ObiWanKenobi in Star Wars: The Phantom Menace. RIP, Val.
Finally, there has been some recent rumors circulating about the potential return of a possibility for a season 2 of the #Acolyte. This news is based off a social media data metric known as #ParrotAnalytics. The validity behind this is very much up in the air, but interesting to discuss.

For today's episode, the DetBlock Crew had the pleasure of bringing in their 7th prisoner, Luke [not Skywalker], to showcase his passion for Star Wars. As he calls himself, the "Super-Duper Super Nerd." From a young age, Luke had immediately become a dedicated fan of Star Wars and went way deep into the collecting aspect that the franchise brings. Collectable cards, comics, books, toys, posters... you name it. Luke has collected it. The struggle eventually became, where will he keep the stuff? Especially, since his wife has set the restriction of "No Star Wars outside of the basement." Come join the Crew as they learn about Luke's fascinating adventure of collecting Star Wars items and the amazing stories that it has brought along the way. Not to mention, the fascinating people he has had conversations with that have played major roles in building the Star Wars universe. Such a testament Luke is to the true spirit of Star Wars fans. He's not collecting to gain a profit. He's collecting to build a passion and to even help others find the items they are passionate about themselves.

The day after your DetBlock Crew discussed the news release from Puck and other outlets about the upcoming [potential] resignation of Kathleen Kennedy , Deadline released their interview with Kennedy in response to that news leak. The key line to pull from that... "The truth is, and I want to just say loud and clear, I am not retiring. I will never retire from movies. I will die making movies." Powerful response and statement to make. However, it is important to point out that the comment is on retirement , not about resigning. Meaning, not retiring doesn't mean she won't be resigning from her current position within Lucasfilm. In fact, she even speaks to the potential for her resignation within the year. On the flip side, that also doesn't mean she won't be staying on with Lucasfilm for some time either. Come listen to Mike, Dustin, and Bogie's thoughts on the matter.

For today's episode, the DetBlock Crew cover some hot topics that have been circulating within the Star Wars news lately. To start out, Mike, Bogie and Zach dive bring up the re-release of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith to theaters on April 25th to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the movie. The Crew hope to get into theaters to see this movie on the big screen once again. From there, the talk a little bit about Star Wars Celebration that will also be in April in Japan. Even though the Crew isn't able to go, they are looking forward to hearing where the next one will be in hopes to get everyone there.
From there, the guys shift gears to discuss the Andor Season 2 first official #trailer. Mike did a trailer reaction video for it the other day, but now they look to dive deeper into it. What did they see? What are their opinions? What are they looking forward to?
After spending some time on that, they then look to talk about the hottest topic in Star Wars news lately... The announcement about the upcoming resignation of Kathleen Kennedy. With this week's episode, the DetBlock Crew look to discuss the 2nd half [episodes 3 & 4] of the LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy show that they started last week. Let's just say, the back half was just as entertaining as the front half! I mean come on, what's not to like about a JEDI DART VADER?? They are both very pleased that they finally stumbled across this and look for to checking out other LEGO Star Wars content found on Disney+.
From there, they look to discuss the next installment of the High Republic novel series that has come out. Temptation of the Force is the 2nd novel within Phase 3 of the High Republic, which Dustin just recently finished. Both Mike and Dustin have been really enjoying the previous novels from this era, well... maybe Phase 1 more specifically, so will this book live up to most of the rest? Well... um... maybe it should be considered more of a romantic love novel than a Star Wars book... Whoops, did I just spoil that?

Thanks to the unintentional efforts of Dustin's son, the DetBlock Crew stumbled across the LEGO Star Wars show Rebuild the Galaxy on Disney+. Not that they hadn't heard of the show or knew what it was about, but they finally got around to watching it. Dustin starts off by explaining how he came to watching it with his son and then encouraged Mike to go watch it. After watching the first two episodes, they just had to bring this to today's episode. Thus, Dustin and Mike look to talk through their reactions and opinions about the first two episodes of the show. They'll then look to watch the final two episodes next week for their next discussion. It goes without saying, this is something they DEFINITELY enjoyed. With the New Year now here and 2024 in the rear-view mirror, the DetBlock Crew want to take this time to look back at 2024 and gather their thoughts on what the year brought for Disney Star Wars. Coming off one of the most controversial years for the franchise, what does this mean going forward? Is the franchise doomed? Did Star Wars take a punch? Was this a necessary year to force some changes? Or did the franchise do enough to walk the line of going too far by expanding out enough to new audiences while still maintaining its loyal fans? They have their opinions; what are yours?
This then begs the question of what's to come with the upcoming 2025 year? We are all well aware of the countless announced movie projects that are "set" to release in 2026 and beyond. However, outside of Star Wars Celebration being in Japan and with only the 2nd and final season of Andor coming and a 3rd installment of Star Wars: Visions , there's nothing else currently announced for the year as it relates to movies or shows. Granted, there is speculation more might be announced at Celebration. Is this a "re-focus" or "re-gather" year? Maybe... and it's probably needed.
