South Florida's Punk Roots: Mike 'Milo' Lesser and Gay Cowboys In Bondage
For the first time, Mike 'Milo' Lesser, a South Florida punk pioneer, shares his story. As the vocalist of Gay Cowboys In Bondage, one of the region's earliest hardcore punk bands, Mike recounts his early days attending iconic venues like the Hollywood Sportatorium and Finders, where he saw in their infancy, influential bands like Black Flag and Misfits. He dives into the formation of Gay Cowboys In Bondage, who initially went by Social Risk, and their notable appearances, including infiltrating a Battle of the Bands at Piper High School (Broward County) and opening for the Minutemen at Flynn's in Miami Beach. Mike also reminisces about playing with Roach Motel, recording at Sync Studios, and the significance of Open Books and Records. He fondly recalls friends and bandmates, including Libby Bentley, Charlie Pickett, Malcolm Tent, and Pete Moss (R.I.P.). The story also covers the band's discography, including their debut demo "We're Not Gay But The Music Is" (1983), the 7" EP "Owen Marshmallow Strikes Again" (1984), and a 2005 CD compilation of their work from 1983-1984.

Miami Hardcore: The Story of Destro
Hailing from Miami, FL, Destro emerged in the late 90's as a staple in the South Florida hardcore and punk scene. Members Ariel Arro, Roy Ugarte, Chip Walbert, and Kenn Marshall join us to share the story of Destro, from playing shows at Churchill's, Cheers, Club Q, and the Vero Women's Center to touring, recording with Jeremy Staska at Studio 13, the writing and lyrical process, straight edge, and on stage injuries. Unfortunately, core member Julio Marin couldn't join us, but Ariel, Roy, Chip, and Kenn will offer a candid look at the band's journey, diving into the highs and lows that defined their experience.

The 100th Episode: Exploring the Creative Journey of Dan Cavity
Join us for an in-depth conversation with Dan Gorostiaga, a long-time member of Miami's iconic band Cavity! Dan takes us on a journey through his early days playing bass in South Florida's hardcore/punk scene with bands like Dead End, Violent Deed, Powerhouse, and Killer Kane. He shares hilarious and heartfelt stories of playing DIY shows in backyards, living rooms, and local venues like the Cameo Theater and Churchill's.
Dan also dives into the pre-Cavity era, when the band was known as Crawl, and recounts the band's evolution over its 10-year span. With unprecedented detail, Dan shares memories of band line-ups, recording sessions, releases, artwork, local gigs, and touring. He also touches on his brief stints with Chickenhead, Dustraps, Kilombo, KVT1, and his current instrumental project, The Johnny 99's.
Beyond music, Dan discusses his passion for art and zines, showcasing some of his favorite Cavity flyers included under his publishing venture, Hook or Crook Unlimited.

Dragbody and Beyond: Scott White's Musical Journey
Join us as we dive into the life and music journey of Scott White. Growing up in DeLand, Florida, Scott shares memories of his early days playing in his first punk band, Shutout, and his time with Dragbody, formerly known as Contention of the Orders.
He reminisces about playing Central Florida venues like Power Station, Happy Days, Club Nowhere, Sunburst Pub, Sapphire Supper Club, and the beloved D.I.Y. Records. Scott also talks about touring the east coast with notable bands like Cease (Tampa), Assück (St. Pete), and Cream Abdul Babar (Tallahassee), as well as his experiences at various festivals and getting to play the legendary CBGB's in NYC multiple times!
One of the highlights of Scott's journey with Dragbody was their 2021 European tour, where he shares stories of playing in Germany, Switzerland, Spain, and more. He also opens up about his time in the studio, recording in Chicago with the late, great Steve Albini, and recording with other talented folks like Dave Michaels at The Difference, Mark Ignaffo at Reel Time Studios, and Steve Heritage at Morrisound.
After Dragbody, Scott went on to join southern rock/sludge band Railsplitter and later formed Six Dead Horses, where he took on roles as vocalist, guitarist, and songwriter. We also explore Scott's artistic side, from his early days screen-printing for bands to his work as a tattoo artist and co-owner of Rise Above Tattoos in Orlando.

Fausto: Straight Outta Miami! 40 Years of Punk and More!
Fausto Figueredo's musical odyssey began in the late 80s, drumming for hardcore band Violent Deed (w/ Daniel Gorostiaga & Scott Baldwin) and playing the iconic Cameo Theater at just 16 years old with Genetic Mistake (w/ Juan Montoya). Throughout the 90s, he played in Fruitfly and Jobbernowl (w/ George Van Orsdel), his first band with physical output.
Fausto's most notable endeavor was as a member of Load, one of Florida's most notorious and beloved bands. After Load, Fausto continued to explore various musical projects, including Middle Finger Mob (ex-Load), UFC (Under Fascist Control w/ Danny Pukes), Tongues of the Heartworm (members of Postface), Flees, Good Shepherd (w/ Matt Roles), Beat Obsolete (w/ Joe Koontz), Shark Valley Sisters (w/ Rob Elba), John Denver Fight Club (w/ Tim Moffit), and Mutiny Act.
In this episode, Fausto shares his memories of growing up in Miami, musical influences, memorable gigs and venues, brotherhood with Juan Montoya, touring Florida and other parts of the U.S., having the opportunity to play Colombia with Flees, the Dan Hosker Music Continuum, and his relationship with, Rob Elba. He also surprises us with his favorite band that he's played in and tons more!

In this episode, Barry shares his memories of growing up in Miami, hanging out at record shops of the day, and witnessing the birth of the South Florida punk scene. The Untold Story of Malcolm Tent: Broken Talent and the Florida Years
Join us for an exclusive conversation with Malcolm Tent, bassist and vocalist of Miami's iconic 80s hardcore punk band, Broken Talent. For the first time, Malcolm shares his untold story, focusing on his formative years in Florida. Growing up in unincorporated Dade County, Malcolm's musical influences were shaped by local radio stations like K102 and 103.5 SHE. He reminisces about South Florida's vibrant early and mid 80s punk and alternative music scene, recalling storied venues such as Open Books & Records, Flynn's, The Cameo Theater, and Churchill's. And zines such as Rag Magazine, Mouth of the Rat, and Tropical Depression.
As a member of Broken Talent, Malcolm shared the stage with bands like Black Flag, Dead Kennedys, Antiseen, and Raw Power, as well as Florida bands: Morbid Opera, The Prom Sluts, Gay Cowboys In Bondage, Sector 4, Pagan Faith, Lethal Yellow, S.L.A., Generic Death, The Pop Cruds, and more. He recounts the band's highs and lows, sharing memories of select shows, complete with vintage flyer artwork. Malcolm also provides a snapshot of life after Florida, operating a record store called Trash American Style, running the TPOS record label, joining Antiseen, and much more! She shares stories of her early days in Boca Raton, her experiences at the Punk House in Ft. Lauderdale, and squatting in Miami. She also discusses her creation and involvement with the Scam Zine, her time with punk band Chickenhead, and generator shows.
