With thyroid imbalances on the rise, this conversation is SO IMPORTANT! Unfortunately most of us are just handed medication when we have a thyroid imbalance and very rarely are we given tools to investigate deeper. About Ali:
As a Trauma Trained Coach & Somatic Experience Practitioner (In-Training) I believe that trauma & emotional pain is not just about what happened to you, but how it left your nervous system after said event. The thing that people do not realize about trauma is that it cannot be "out talked" or "out thought", it lives in the BODY. Most people that I work with (including myself) have tried almost everything under the sun to work on themselves and their emotional pain/trauma but nothing seems to move the needle until they address the trauma stored in the body. The body remembers everything even if your mind forgets and this is why in my coaching practice I focus largely on the BODY. When trauma is stored in the body for too long it will start manifesting in disease, autoimmune, gut dysbiosis, skin issues, fatigue, weight gain, and more. The key to working through this is learning the tools to move it out of your body. Remember what works for one person might not work for you and that is OKAY. Your healing is unique just like YOU.

About today’s guest:
I’m Dr Leedia and I am a biological dentist focusing on whole body health: specifically, women’s dental health and early childhood dental education.
Dental trauma often stems from childhood, and that can be significantly changed through infant oral health before teeth come in and positive connection. Dental decay ranks as the #1 chronic disease worldwide amongst children - completely preventable.
Over 65% of women go through preventable dental disease during or soon after their pregnancies. Gum disease and inflammation in the oral cavity are linked to premature labor, lower birthweights, heart disease and the list goes on!
It’s time to put our mouth back where it belongs, our body! The mouth-body connection is a real one. Hormones don’t discriminate. Dental materials and procedures used in the mouth have an impact on the body. And many physical diseases impact the wellness of the oral cavity.
My mission as a dentist is to bring women’s dental health to the table, through education, and empowerment. In creating a liaison between the medical world and dental world, we are bridging the gap and creating the ability for our patients to achieve optimal whole body health.

Welcome back beautiful friends! I am ecstatic about this episode because it’s near and dear to my heart as a pregnant mama!! I knew from the moment I got pregnant that I wanted to do a home birth. I was lucky to witness my sister homebirth her four beautiful kids and the peace and serenity I saw in her birth spaces helped me see birth as a powerful initiation. When I shared about my home birth plans on IG, I received some questions as to why I chose a home birth. I have THE best community ever and so there were some earnest questions but zero judgment or criticism. I love you all so much!
And as always with everything on my platform and podcast, this is educational and never to invoke shame. However you may have birthed your children is valid and beautiful. I believe in informed consent and I do believe many women do not know they have options outside of the hospital and interventions they may not fully understand the risks of. May this episode fall into the hands of women who are interested in learning and/or want to know their options to birth their own way.
In this episode we talk about:
Natural birth vs. birth interventionsThe risks of interventions like epidurals, induction, pitocin, cervical checks and moreConsiderations around “emergencies” in birthThings to actually invest in for birth and babyThe importance of informed consentDitching the “nice girl” mentality in pregnancy and birthHealing postpartumBringing the village backBreastfeeding considerationsAnd so much moreContinued reading:

The episode you’ve all been waiting for is here!! I got to interview board certified OBGYN Nathan Riley and this conversation was beyond eye opening. Most people would agree that modern Obstetrics could use a LOT of improvement and yet not many changes have happened to improve maternal care. It was incredible to get to have such a candid conversation with Nathan and essentially ask him ALL the questions many of us have wished we could ask an OBGYN.

About today’s guest Andrea Haskin:
I’m a mom of 2, a former middle school English teacher, certified lactation counselor and peer breastfeeding counselor with La Leche League. in upstate NY. I believe parents have been led astray by the modern medical-industrial system and the multitude of opinions and information available and have dampened the ability to mother biologically and instinctually. I want to encourage mothers to take back that instinctual power in order to be less dependent on the systems that took away their authority. I created Instinctual Mothering Because I want every new mom to know that they don’t have to listen to anything anybody else says about how to raise their own baby.
