In the recap of BJJ stars 15 we discussed the 185 pound middleweight tournament. We recap all of the matches and discussed the best moments from each one plus all of the rounds. We talk about some of the more interesting style matchups that we saw throughout the tournament, and some of the more shocking results. Plus delve into a lot of the tactics that we saw on display in most of the matchups.
We also recap the highlight main event finish in the Mica and Roberto.
In the second half of the recap section, we discussed all of the main event superfights.

This week show Maine and Miranda recap WNO 27 headlined by Nick Rodriguez vs Kaynan Duarte in a third match and co-main evented by Luke Griffith vs Victor Hugo.
In the news section of the show, we discussed the potential rumor, retirement of Gordon, Ryan and John Danaher. We also discuss an upcoming potential coaching based off between Craig Jones and Gordon.
In the recap section of the show, we break down the main event discussing the improvements that Nick Rodriguez has made to his game in five years since his first two matches with Kaynan Duarte. We discussed the early takedown from. Kaynan the improved back defense from Rodriguez. We then discussed the pacing and passing and mounting sequence from Nicky Rod that allowed him to take the match on decision.
In a recap of the company that we discussed Luke Griffith versus Victor Hugo, we talked about some of the dynamics in the wrestling and takedowns, and how this match shared a lot of dynamics with the main event matchup with a seemingly come-from-behind victory for Luke after getting Hugo back and controlling for a large section of the match.
In the Women's Featherweight Championship match we discussed a rematch between Helena Crevar vs Elisabeth Clay that saw Crevar on top and working to pass the guard, we also discussed the counter back, take off of a known offense from Clay in the way that she goes for the foot lock. We talked about some of the preparation that must have been taking place in Helena's camp that allowed her to eventually get the back of the leg lock transition and win with a rear naked choke to take the featherweight title.
We break down the barn burner of a match between Andrew Tackett vs Fabyury Khrysthyan, we discussed the overwhelming pace and activity from Andrew and how his transitions and wrestling look as good as ever. Then we discussed the transition into the heel hook that won him the match submission
In Xande Ribeiro vs Richie Martinez we talk about the early heel hook attempt from Boogie and then the later judges faxor that Xande appeared to have taken offense at leading to a phenomenal double under pass into a signature kimura.
In Owen Jones vs Julian Espinosa we discuss the movement and transitions of Jones that he was able to use to get back and finish the rear naked choke.
We also briefly discuss the undercard matches of Chris Wojcik vs Michael Esquivel ending in an ankle lock for Wojick, Alan Magendzo vs Colin Carr with Alan taking a late replacement decision. In Ben Eddy vs Josh Wyland we discussed the great north south passing from Josh and the triangle choke counter that Ben was able to use to win the match. We also discussed Taylor Hishaw vs Trinity Pun that saw Taylor take a win by decision.In the recap of Fight to Win 279 Newark we discussed the Main Event of Junny Ocasio vs. Eric Naples we discussed some of Junny passing and back taking then the Rear Triangle Armbar finish that Junny used to retain his 135 pound title.

Then in the main part of the show go on discuss a matchup between two men who have beaten both of the main event fighters. Luke Griffith vs Victor Hugo we talk about some of their recent matches and performances, as well as some of the dynamics and the match and how the guard may play into this match as well as how each Camp will have prepared for the matchup.
In our discussion of Women's Featherweight Championship between Elisabeth Clay vs Helena Crevar we talk about the recent performances as well as the kneebar game of Clay we talk about their first matchup at West Coast trials in 2021 and the similarities and differences between both of the games.
In Andrew Tackett vs Fabyury Khrysthyan we share our love of the action packed pace that Andrew Tackett pushes against all of his opponents and reflect on some of our favorite moments from his recent matches, hoping that we will see more of the same in this matchup.
In Owen Jones vs Julian Espinosa we discussed Owen's ability to go into the legs and also threaten the upper body during the transitions, as well as some of the recent performances from Julian.
In Xande Ribeiro vs Richie Martinez we talked about how much of a legend Xande is and run through his world championship accolades in both the Gi and NoGi at ADCC and IBJJF. We talked about some of the stylistic differences and areas of Richie's guard that Xande we need to play around.

In the preview section, we looked ahead to WNO 27 headline by match between Kaynan Duarte and Nick Rodriguez. We talked about their first two matches in 2019 some of the history behind the matchups as well as some of the areas where both athletes have improved and made changes to their game we discussed the rules for the event and how it made favor various games and strategies, as well as discussed some of the mental hurdles going into the mashup with Rodriguez having lost the first two nearly six years ago.

This week on the show Maine and Miranda preview Nick Rodriguez vs Victor Hugo for the fourth time this time serving as the main event on the Fight Pass Invitational 10.
During the preview we discussed all of the three previous matches that are taken place over the last five years and discuss the style of the match up with Victor's guard versus Rodriguez's passing. We discussed the late leg lock attempts that Rodriguez historically has thrown. We also talk about the changes in the dynamics of the match over the years with a move from longer and longer range passing from Nicky Rod.
We talk about how the change of rule set may play into the matchup, resulting in a reliance on scoring points later in the potential for negatives to be awarded throughout the match for things like inactivity.
We also give our picks for how we think the fourth iteration of this match will take place and how the result of the Craig Jones invitational may factor into how each camp goes into this matchup for the fourth time.

This week on the show Maine and Josh recap Polaris squads on Polaris 31.
We spend the first section of the show discussing why the team battle format has become as good and as widespread as it is. We then discuss a number of the changes that Polaris introduced for this event that we think really elevated the way the event went. We talked about the shifting rules and formatting, especially with the introduction of decisions, adding importance to every match.
After we discussed the formatting of the event, we run through the entirety of team Europe versus team North America match by match. We talk about all of the impressive submissions and upsets, as well as how a format affects some of the matchups that we see and how the potential rematches in the format are handled.

In Joe Pyfer vs Nick Willey we discussed the dynamics of the match, including the wrestling exchanges and Joe's takedown in Golden Score in Overtime to win the match.
In Alexandr Romanov vs Dymere Rappa we discussed the takedown sequence that led to Rappa pulling turtle and Romanov's North South Choke setup and finish.
In Bella Mir vs Gabby Best we discussed the wrestling of Bella and how she was able to front run the entire match up until she finished the match with a Triangle Armbar, we also discussed some of the controversy on the tap and gave some reffing insights for how difficult the situation like that can be to call correctly in the moment.

This week on the show, Maine and Miranda discuss the Craig Jones invitational 2. That is now being billed as a eight team event with five grappler per team. We also discussed the recent One Championship signing of Giancarlo Bodoni and who he may face in his debut plus we discuss Pit Submission 10.
In the news section of the show, we discussed the recent announcement that the Craig Jones invitational 2, is going to be a quintet team battle style event. We talk about some of the potential teams that are listed as possibilities in the press release and some of the other possibilities of team format surrounding the event, as well as talk about some other events that utilize the team battle format.
In the recap section of the show, we discussed Pit Submission 10 Roosevelt Souza vs Daishi Goto. That saw Roosevelt be able to win with a rear naked choke in the second round.

This week on the show Maine and Miranda recap the IBJJF 2024 No-Gi World, and talk about Gordon Ryan's landmark public discussion of his steroid usage during his championship runs. We also talk about Pat Downey's disqualification in his blue belt world's final match.
In the news section of the show, we discussed Gordon Ryan's statements regarding steroid use in the sport and his own performance enhancing drug usage across his competition career spanning from 2016 onward. We discussed the generally unregulated and untested nature of the sport. And discuss some of the reasons he provided for why he chose to take PEDs being sparked by his desire to move out of his coach and teammate Garry Tonon's weight class.
In the recap of IBJJF 2024 No-Gi Worlds we discussed Pat Downey and his finals match disqualification as well as some of the specific rules that most likely led to the disqualification even prior to the fight that took place after the match.
We also discussed some of the standout colored belt performances at the tournament and some of the more impressive runs from people we are already familiar with, from other major competitions who won colored belt world titles at the event.
