It seems like every day a friend of family member is launching a new business, website, podcast, etc… I know that navigating the murky waters of friendship and support can be tricky. After all, our time and resources are limited. But speaking as a photographer and small business owner myself, our friends and family are supposed to be our biggest fans and supporters, right? So why does it often NOT feel that way? So in this episode, I am going to dissect what "support" looks like for small business owners so that you can effectively spread love and encouragement to those in your inner circle who fall under this category. And believe it or not, the most important ones don’t cost a thing!

Ever since quarantine, my husband and I jokingly say that Jonas has found his voice! Our boy has always struggled with language and even underwent speech therapy for a year. Speech Therapy, in combination with time and patience, has paid off and now you can't get him to stop talking! His speech isn't the clearest yet, but it keeps improving exponentially with each passing day. In this episode, Jonas "reads" one of his favorite bedtime stories,"On the Night You Were Born". We read it each night to the point where he has the whole book memorized! On some days, he asks to read to me instead and I was lucky enough to get one of those occasions on audio and it's the cutest thing ever!

The first weeks of quarantine / working from home were overwhelming to say the least. However, it feels like things are finally becoming more manageable for our family. We hit a level of normalcy that only comes with implementing some basic routines in our new quarantine life. It dawned on me while doing our nightly bath/ bed time routine with my son, that like his mom, he is a creature of habit and is his best (and better behaved!) self when he knows what to expect of his days. There is comfort in routine. And whenever we deviate from the order or cut corners, we always end up paying for it one way or another.
In this episode, I share what kinds of things I’ve been implementing as a part of our daily routine and the many benefits we have experienced as a family as a result of them.

We are on week three of quarantine due to COVID-19 and it looks like we have many more to go!
Are you happy with the way you're spending this time? Or do you feel like you're falling short and could be doing more?
In this episode, I share why I am rejecting the messages on social media about maximizing productivity during quarantine and why I refuse to feel guilty about all the things I "should" or "could" be doing with the extra time.

With all the news in the media about COVID-19 and all the information floating around (some true, most false), we as adults have the responsibility to control the narrative for our children. It’s super important to have honest conversations - that are also age-appropriate - because children look to us as examples for how to behave and feel during times of turmoil. In this episode, I have a frank conversation with my niece, nephew and son about the Coronavirus and the many changes we’ve had to face in the wake of this health crisis.

In the first episode of the Happy Boy Lucky podcast, I share the turning point in my motherhood journey and how I got off the fast track to burnout and serious depression. Like most mommas, I love my family more than anything, but my physical, mental and emotional health was on a massive decline right after the birth of my son. But once I implemented this important change in my life, our entire family benefitted from the results. I’m not usually one to make bold claims, but this is one I feel passionately about!
