  • ‘He looked like he was in agony. His face scrunched up, and moving like he was trying to crawl backwards away from whatever he could see. Instinct took over, and I accelerated away. Even as we moved further away, Mike still looked in pain. He kept saying ‘stop, stop’, repeatedly. I thought he was talking to me, but I had zero intention of stopping; yet now, I’m not so sure it was me he was talking to …’

This is episode 60 – part 5 – of the Haunted UK Podcast … the final episode in the collection of your listeners’ stories. The curtain is coming down on yet another season, but we will return later in the summer with – can you believe it? – season 7!! – and with it, we will bring more stories, more intrigue and a hell of a lot more questions. In the meantime, we hope you enjoy the last part of our anthology of listeners’ stories – particularly our last story, which is so bizarre, troubling and chilling that we had to get an expert in: writer, paranormal psychologist and expert on BBC’s Uncanny, Evelyn Hollow. Join us as Evelyn reads out this strange tale of police officers on the road at night in the Welsh village of Llanover – and gives her expert opinion on what really terrified them on that strange night in … The Monk of Llanover and Other Listeners’ Stories.

Do you have an interesting story which you'd be willing to share with the show? If so, your story could feature in our end of season Listeners’ Stories episodes. Please get in touch with the show via our new Haunted UK Podcast Website, or email us at [email protected], marking the subject as Listener Story.

All stories are treated with the utmost privacy and respect – if you wish to remain anonymous – that's no problem at all. It would be great for your voice to bring your very own story to life.

  • ‘As I was coming down the road, I saw what I thought were the lights of an oncoming car, so I stopped to let it pass. After a few moments I flashed my lights but got no response so, thinking the car may have broken down in the snow or got stuck; I walked into the woods towards the lights to help. As I neared, I saw there had been an accident and ran to the car which had struck a telegraph pole, knocking it into the woods. I pulled the car door open …’

This is episode 60 – Part 2 – of the Haunted UK Podcast, and we’re back with another jam-packed episode of listeners’ stories – hold tight because this is The Crash and Other Listeners’ Stories.

As usual, the response from all of you fantastic listeners has been phenomenal. So many stories, so many experiences, so many elements of the paranormal ... and all brilliant. A huge thank you to each and every single one of you who have taken the time out to type your stories up and send them in to the show. And let’s remember it’s never easy to share a story about the supernatural – it takes courage and some vulnerability. Some of these experiences have unsettled some of our listeners in this episode – troubled them even; so, to come forward and entrust us with their stories – well, it’s massively appreciated. So, with that said, it’s time to dim the lights, time to get comfortable, and time to listen … to your stories.

  • ‘Exhausted, he approached his doorstep with heavy footsteps; his eyes glued to the cobblestones – when he heard the clang of something hit the ground … it was a comb, the symbol of the banshee, and when he looked ahead to his doorstep, an old ghostly woman with the longest grey hair looked at him; her face wizened … she silently pointed up to the sky with her fingers …’

The banshee is a Celtic legend who heralds death to families on the island of Ireland; we’ll be exploring her history, her myth – as well as some real-life encounters with this wailing entity. So, sit back, listen but take heed as you do – for this is episode 59 of the Haunted UK Podcast, and we're going to hear the call, the wail, the distant cry and of course: The Tale of the Banshee.

Content warning: This episode does discuss the process of dying and death – please take care.

The places in which we grow up will always be closest to our hearts and where we ultimately feel the safest and most secure. However, when it comes to the paranormal, nothing is ever as secure as it may seem, and in some cases even the most familiar place can be obscured into something unrecognisable – this is listener Katherine’s experience … which begs the question – are there Spirits in the House … or in the Witness?

  • Amelia lay awake for what seemed like hours, and with her windows closed but the shutters open, she decided to gaze out her window and admire the beautiful moonlit countryside. Amelia's bedroom window gave her an ideal view of the large lawn and the border of trees, which stood between Coglin Grange and the old graveyard; as her eyes scanned the silhouettes and shapes cast by the moonlight, she noticed that two small bright lights had now appeared in the treeline. These lights were moving through the trees and steadily towards the lawn … but what were they? ... Eye shine from an animal? ... Possibly a fox? … Amelia doubted it, as the lights appeared to be too high off the ground to be any animal …

    Happy Spooky Christmas!

  • Our bedroom was small and narrow, and the door was about six feet from the end of our queen-sized bed. The noise was thunderous, three knocks, rapid and loud. Bang, bang, bang!

‘Did you hear that?’ I said, ‘Yep,’ Brian responded – his voice weird and bored. I had a moment of surprise and sat straight up in bed. Then it happened again. Bang, bang, bang! This time, I got up immediately and walked quickly to the door, figuring that one of the three kids, probably my seven-year-old daughter, was scared and needed me. I opened it and started to speak, then stopped when I saw no one was there. I stared into a large, well-lit open area that was completely empty. I could see the stairs ... also empty. My lizard brain hissed softly. ‘Run’ it said.

This is episode 57 of the Haunted UK Podcast, and in this episode, we venture across the Atlantic to hear about a truly disturbing haunting … a Haunting in Oregon.

Content warning: This episode does contain descriptions of murder, suicide, physical violence, depression, mental abuse, colourful language and dangerous controlling behaviour.

  • On the 15th of September 2024, I attended a ghost hunt at the location of this shows very first episode way back in June 2021. That location was of course, Dudley Castle. Since an early age, I’d had a healthy interest in castles, and knowing that one with such great historical significance was just a short drive away from not only where I grew up, but also where I live now, always seemed surreal.

But throughout my early years, I never really thought of Dudley Castle as a place where ghosts or the spirits of the dead, would haunt…but how wrong I was. Every now and then, an article would appear in a local newspaper, or a story would be heard on radio, retold by either the presenter or news reader, or if you were lucky, by the witness themselves.

Was I about to finally witness...something paranormal???
