In today's Daily Fix:
Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree has been out for a fill weekend now, giving players plenty of time to get their butts kicked all over the Lands of Shadow. The DLC's extreme difficulty is apparently too much for some, causing the game's user score on Steam to get downgraded to "Mixed." If you're one of those who is just not having a good time getting beat up in Shadow of the Erdtree, maybe a mod that makes the game easier is what you need. And finally, in non-Elden Ring news, Avowed's developers at Obsidian are getting a little tired of the comparisons to Skyrim. -
In today's Daily Fix:
Elden Ring's high-anticipated DLC expansion, Shadow of the Erdtree, is now available on all platforms, but some fans are puzzled by the lack of PlayStation trophies or Xbox and Steam achievements. Is it a bug? Did the game's update break something? Nope, don't worry, ye Tarnished, the DLC actually doesn't have any of those. The new land and enemies are hard as heck, so honestly completing the DLC is an achievement unto itself. In related news, Cyberpunk 2077 developer CD Projekt Red has congratulated Fromsoftware, as Shadow of the Erdtree has surpassed CDPR's own Witcher 3 expansion, Blood and Wine, as the best-reviewed expansion for a role-playing game. And finally, Sony's foray into VR gaming may be coming to an end as the company cuts investment into the technology. -
In today's Daily Fix:
Gamescom, the world's largest gaming event (think E3 but much bigger and in Germany), will feature Xbox's largest booth they've ever had. That's impressive considering the other two major console makers won't even be there, so they're not really competing against anyone on their level. But it's a win for gamers who can make it to Cologne, Germany in August. In other news, Bluepoint Games is insisting they're still working on original IP. The Sony-owned studio is known for their next-gen ports like the PS5 remake of Demon's Souls, and the PS4 version of Shadow of the Colossus. That might be a bummer for some Bloodborne fans who were hoping Bluepoint was working on an upgraded version of that game. And speaking of soulslikes, a new Elden Ring patch is out for the base game, ahead of tomorrow's release of the highly anticipated Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. -
In today's Daily Fix:
Nintendo finally had their big summer showcase, and they came with some heavy hitters. Not only did they FINALLY show off Metroid Prime 4 footage, but they unveiled a brand new Zelda game...where you play as Zelda! Now known as Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, the game has been MIA since its announcement at E3 2017 (remember E3?). The game was originally in development at Bandai Namco, but was brought to developer Retro Studios (the devs behind the original Prime trilogy), who basically started over from scratch. The new Zelda game, The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, borrows the art style from the Switch's Link's Awakening remake, and you get to play as Zelda who must save Link this time around. But it isn't all Nintendo news today—Xbox announced Wave 2 of Game Pass games coming later in June. -
Starfield's user reviews have taken a hit after fans spoke out against Bethesda's paid mods for the game. Starfield's "Trackers Alliance" was updated with a new quest, but Bethesda considers it a "mod" and charges $7 for it, which obviously has angered the community. Studio head Todd Howard said in an interview that they were willing to adjust as long as they're giving value to everyone, including players and mod creators. In other news, FromSoftware's Hidetaka Miyazaki doesn't think he's created his ideal fantasy RPG in Elden Ring, and would love for someone else to make that game so he can enjoy it just as a fan. And finally, a new Nintendo Direct has been announced for tomorrow, 7am PT. No, there won't be any Switch 2 news, but expect 40 minutes of trailers for new upcoming games.

In today's Daily Fix:
The latest patch for Helldivers promised sweeping changes, fixes, and tweaks across nearly every aspect of the game. Some of the less popular stratagems got buffs (like the Orbital Gatling Cannon), visible supply lines on the galactic map, tweaks to the lighting, invite-only lobbies, and more. Tons more. And the new Viper Commandos warbond has introduced new skins and weapons to the game. In other news, Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree is almost upon us, and publisher Bandai Namco has released sales figures for the base game. Around 25 million units of the game have been sold since launch, and we can expect a few more copies to be sold once the DLC arrives. And finally, Discord integration with the PS5 is finally here, so all you console Helldivers can now keep your chats private when squading up with randos. -

In today's Daily Fix:
Bandai Namco is reminding players that there's less than two weeks to go until Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree drops, but that only one-third of Tarnished will actually have access to the new area. That's because two-thirds of players across all platforms have NOT met the prerequisites: beat Starscourge Radahn and Mohg. Get to it, Tarnished! In other news, BioWare confirmed that all romance options in Dragon Age: The Veilguard can be romanced by players of ANY race. Sexy times ahead regardless of your character's race. And finally, GameStop may have accidentally leaked the release date for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater. Oops. (It's November 17th, but don't tell anyone). -
In today's Daily Fix:
The latest Dragon Age got a new trailer—and a new title—but fans still had questions as to how customizable their characters can be. According to developer BioWare's Michael Gamble, you'll be able to play as an Elf, Dwarf, or Qunari (and of course a human). In other news, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6's single-player character will need a constant internet connection. Activision explains that this is to help stream the game's high-quality textures, instead of installing them to your hard drive (this is done to preserve storage space). You will also not need a premium subscription service like Game Pass or PlayStation Plus, just a high-speed internet connection. And finally, Obsidian accidentally revealed the release date for their highly-anticipated RPG, Avowed, then deleted the webpage (but not before we managed to screen capture it!). -

Sony's PC adapter for their PSVR2 headset finally has a release date and price. The adapter will hit the market this August for around $60 USD, but you will still need provide a DisplayPort 1.4 cable. The adapter will allow PSVR2 owners to use the headset on PC just like you would other headsets like the Meta Quest and Valve Index. The PSVR2 has reportedly seen slow sales since its launch early last year, and Sony is likely hoping that opening the headset up to the PC audience will boost its profile. Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is already confirmed for Game Pass, but don't worry, if you're already a subscriber, you're good to go. Microsoft won't be making a brand-new tier of Game Pass you'll need to shell out more money for. In other news, Take-Two's CEO, Strauss Zelnick, won't give a straight answer regarding GTA 6 and a PC release. While it's likely, as most recent Rockstar-produced games have hit PC, it's still a little frustrating to not know when it'll happen. And finally, Little Nightmares 3 is getting delayed until next year. This may or may not have to do with the layoffs developer Supermassive Games suffered earlier this year. -
