Las Vegas ice cream truck owner/operator Billy Settlemyers made headlines this week after some dumbass on posted a video on TikTok mistakenly identifying his truck as an ICE vehicle, claiming he was trying to lure unsuspecting immigrants into his truck...and we talked to Billy about all the stupidity this morning!!

Most first met Gilby Clarke when he replaced Izzy Stradlin on tour with Guns n Roses...a position he filled from '91-'94...but we've been fans since his previous band Kill For Thrills, through his work with Slash's Snakepit and more....and now he's filling in for Nita Strauss for a run of dates with Alice Cooper!!
And we got the chance to catch up with him this morning! -

It's been a minute since we've talked to our cold friend, comedian/actor Robert Kelly...but with him coming into the Comedy Club of KC this weekend...we decided it was time to catch up...and we quickly found out that he's still as amazingly fucked up as ever!!

Between coming in for The Big Slick, filming a movie here last October, and returning for Big Slick this year and doing stand up at Funny Bone this may...he's practically a hometown boy at this point! -
It's been a few years since Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snider announced that he was retiring...and since then, all of that free time has resulted in solo albums, books, movie deals and a whole lot more...so much for retirement!!

We've known Rudy Reyes, star of the FOX show "Special Forces: Wolrd's Toughest Test" since the early 90s....and you would be hard pressed to find someone who is as patriotic for all the right reasons than him.
And now that the show is in it's 3rd season, we thought it was time to catch up with our old friend to see what this season has in store and what's up in his world! -
Dear Johnny,On December 13th, my wife Anna, had an appointment with a Hematologist/Oncologist dueto severe anemia. That night at 7pm, we received a call from the doctor telling us to go tothe Emergency Room for a blood transfusion due to a hemoglobin level of 5.1 (normallevels are usually between 12.0-15.0). Fifteen minutes later, her doctor called again and toldus she needed to go to a bigger hospital because there was significant percentage of blasts(immature white blood cells) in her blood. Finding these blasts is a strong indicator ofleukemia. That evening we arrived at the University of Kansas Hospital. After talking with anurse, she was admitted to Labor & Delivery unit because, she is also 18 weeks pregnant.After completing more blood work it was determined that she needed 3 units of bloodbecause her hemoglobin had dropped to 4.5. The following day two Hematologists came todeliver the news that she has Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML), which is an aggressive form ofLeukemia, and she would need to be admitted to the Leukemia unit to begin a minimum 5week stay where she would start chemotherapy. The hard part is now that she isimmunocompromised, she is unable to see the kids in person until she can go home. After abone marrow biopsy, her form of Leukemia was confirmed. December 20th she began herfirst round of chemotherapy and will continue with this round of treatment for a total of 7days. There is no guarantee that this round of chemotherapy will put her into remission; inthe event that it does not, she will begin another round of treatment. These past few weekshave been such a crazy, overwhelming, whirlwind of events. This is such a scary time for ourfamily; but we are staying as positive as we can. We are just trying to focus on what ishappening now and not worry about the future. I just want to say friends and family havebeen so great to help out with the boys, meals, and sending well wishes and prayers. Youreally have no idea who is in your corner until something like this happens and we areblessed for the support we have received. I have taken several days off work and it has putus behind and I just don’t want my wife to have any extra worries. Thank you for reading ourletter. Dear Johnny,
My name is Amy and I’ve been a Med Tech at local nursing homes for the last 14 years.
My husband works fulltime at a manufacturing job in the caves. We are really struggling
this year. Two weeks ago, my position was eliminated at the facility I’ve been working at.
After an interview yesterday, I will be back at a new nursing home starting this Friday.
But in the downtime, my husband was laid off for a week. When work is slow they just
don’t go in (but he is back at work this week). The gap in funds has put us behind. We
managed to pay December rent, but January is due on the 1st. My electric and gas are
also behind. I’m also writing to you about my beautiful little boy, Paxton, who’s in the 3rd
grade and turned 9 on December 10th. He is having a rough time. In kindergarten, he
was diagnosed with language and learning disorder. He has trouble comprehending
language, instructions, and understanding simple tasks. He falls behind very quickly. He
goes to school and has IEP classes (Individualized Education Program), but he feels
different. He gets quiet when he doesn’t understand, he’s socially awkward, has trouble
making friends, and gets picked on. He constantly calls himself stupid and I hate it. I am
working on getting him into counseling. It’s sad to see his confidence go from 100 to 0.
Things are so tight with bills and I just want a little something under the tree for him from

Dear Johnny,
My name is Shelby and I work full time and I’m also a student. I’m writing for help
because I have an emergency. A few days ago our service animal, Luna (a husky), was
playing in the yard and fell and injured her knee. We rushed her to the emergency vet
and found out she needs a TPLO surgery (tibial plateau osteotomy). She has a
dislocated kneecap and torn CCL (puppy version of an ACL). Her surgery costs $3800
to repair and we just don’t have it. Luna is a big part of our family, and more than that,
she is my service dog. In May, I was having severe headaches and was diagnosed with
a brain tumor that effects my vision. It’s a pituitary adenoma about the size of a large
gumball. It’s not cancerous, but it suppresses my adrenal gland and can cause seizures
and severe drops in blood pressure. I may have to have surgery, but for now I’m on
medication to regulate it. Luna is trained and certified as an alert dog for seizures and
blood pressure alerts, and I love her and need her. I can’t do without her. Thanks for

Dear Johnny,
My name is Jessie and my husband is John and we have two little girls that are 6 and 9.
We both work (my husband is a diesel mechanic with a trucking company and I clean
houses). About 7 weeks ago we had a scare, my husband was on his motorcycle on his
way home from work and hit a deer not far from our house up in Gladstone.
He had multiple injuries including a broken pelvis, broken left femur, broken ribs and road rash.
It’s been a hard road for him to get back on his feet, but we’re just happy it wasn’t
worse.
I’ve worked to try to clean extra houses to keep our heads above water while
he’s had to take some time off for recovery. We’ve used up what little we had in savings
to try to keep up on bills and we’ve done ok for the most part, but I’m really worried
about rent. We haven’t been able to come up with money to cover December and it’ll be
January 1 before you know it. The good news is, my husband was just cleared to go
back to work on December 30th.
I’m just praying we can make it until that first paycheck back. We’ve been through so much as a family. I’ve just tried to keep everything as normal as possible for the girls, but it’s been rough. I just ask that maybe you could please consider us and thank you for reading our letter.

Dear Johnny,
My name is Candace and I am married with two kids, 14 and 5. My husband James and
I both work full time jobs, but have had trouble lately trying to stay above financial
issues. Our truck has been in and out of the shop for the past few months for one
reason or another. Our transmission went out, sensors were going bad and then some
computer issues. Getting repairs done has set us back so much that I even had to pawn
my wedding ring just to cover some of the costs. We’ve also fallen behind on paying for
daycare for our youngest son. I recently had to change jobs to be closer to home to cut
down on daycare hours, but we just can’t catch up. They have been good about working
with us, but I’m afraid we could lose our spot. I’m a US Army veteran and have been
taught to never give up, but I just don’t know I’m ever going to be able to fix this. I thank

Dear Johnny,
My dad, Tom, is a retired carpenter, but has since went back to work as a
maintenance man to make ends meet. Due to the nature of his work as a
carpenter, he has numerous health issues. He has had Hip replacement,
Knee replacement, Herniated disk surgery, both rotator cuffs repaired, and
more.
My dad has been a hard worker his whole life. I used to watch my dad from
my bedroom window leave for work early in the mornings. He would come
home as soon as he could, dirty and tired but never too tired for us kids.
Even with the struggles he would still smile and laugh. He loves telling
stories and stupid jokes. But over the last few years, I’ve seen him smile
less and less because of problems with his teeth. He has had upper
dentures for the last 15 years, but recently has had serious infection in four
of his bottom teeth (two of them had to be pulled). His dentist has warned
him that he needs denture replacement. He has health and dental, but it
doesn’t cover dentures.
He lives alone now and it’s hard for him to come up with that extra money.
I try and help as much as I can, but I am a single mother that works full
time trying to get by myself. I would do anything for my dad. He needs
upper and lower dentures, but he just doesn’t have the money. I know he is
worried about infection and it’s painful for him to even eat and I think he
gets embarrassed in public because of his teeth. He’s always been my best
friend and I’m just scared that if we don’t fix this he’ll have problems down
the road. I really would just be able to help my dad smile again.

Dear Johnny,
I am not one to really ever ask for help or assistance, but this year has been different.
Things were going well, and my husband and I are both working. Then a week before
Thanksgiving, my mother in law suddenly passed away of a heart attack the night
before she was scheduled to be released to come home from her nursing/rehab facility.
We are still in shock, can't wrap our head around it. Needless to say, my husband and I
are now taking care of my father in law and my husband’s uncle.
In 2012, my father in law was injured in a 4-wheeler accident and a tractor weight
landed on the side of his head. Mentally and physically it has been a real struggle for
him and he needs our care. Both of them are living with us as this time.
We both work construction, but with time off for the funeral and getting our house in
order we’ve fallen a little bit behind.
I'm not one to ask for help, but when it comes to family, you do whatever you can.

Dear Johnny and Morning Show,
I don’t know if you remember me, but this is Clint. You helped my family and our little boy, Maddox, last year. Unfortunately, December 7th 2024 our 4yr old Mighty Maddox lost his fight with brain cancer. He fought so hard and actually beat the cancer initially...unfortunately, 3 months after beating it the cancer came back with a vengeance.
Mighty Maddox truly fought so very hard. Even though he was just 4yrs old Maddox has inspired many others to fight just as hard as he did as well as touching the hearts and minds of many more. I am truly grateful to you guys and the people of Kansas City for giving us a final Christmas with Maddox that was unforgettable and we will cherish for the rest of our lives. Personally, I just wanted to give you an update and to say thank you to you all for giving our family a gift we can hold on to forever.

Dear Johnny,
My name is Alicia and I am in a desperate situation. In mid-October, my 2008 Chevrolet
Impala-- my driver's side front Window went off track and is wide open and won’t go
back up. Then a few days later, I noticed my muffler started vibrating underneath the
car. I’ve tried to cover the window the best I can, but it’s been some cold drives back
and forth to work. And then at the end of October, as the weather started to turn cold, I
tried to turn on my furnace and it was not working right. I try not to think about it
because I just don’t have the money to get it fixed and I hoped it would be okay. A
couple of weeks ago when the weather really turned cold, I tried to fire it back up and it
would only blow cold air, so I tried to get the temperature up to at least 58 degrees. It
began making a buzzing sound for a minute then shutting off for 30 seconds to a minute
then try to come back on with the same buzzing sound. I knew something wasn’t right,
so I just let it shut off. That has made for some really cold nights the last couple of
weeks. I went to bed a few nights ago and it was 43 degrees inside my house. I called
an HVAC technician to come out to my house and he said it could possibly be a blower
motor and/or a transformer. He quoted me more than $1000 to fix it and I just don’t have the money.
I work a full-time job and I’m just at my wits end. I’m driving to work every day with the
window down and the cold blowing in my face and then come back to a house that’s
usually in the mid-40’s degrees. I’ve been staying with a friend the last couple of nights
because I just don’t know what to do. I make just enough to cover my bills and get
groceries, but I just don’t have a way to get past this. I hate having to ask for help, but
thank you for taking the time to read my letter. Any help would be appreciated.
