Talking all about perimenopause today. This has been a huge topic of conversation in my home and with friends as I am fully into my own menopause journey.
I share with you what my experience has been so far as well as sharing symptoms, how it's been for my husband, to what it's been like dealing with doctors trying to find relief. I share my frustrations and more.
It's my hope that this episode helps more women realize they aren't going crazy or dying of some weird disease... that it's most likely PERIMENOPAUSE.

Hey there, welcome baaaaaack to "How It's Really Going with Shana Recker"!
In this episode, I'm excited to share some recent changes in my life and what you can expect from the podcast moving forward.So, as you know, I've made a bit of a pivot in my career recently. I've shifted away from business coaching and started focusing more on specialized services like Kajabi work and graphic design. It's been quite a journey, and I've found immense fulfillment in this new direction. I'm all about those word-of-mouth referrals, and I've even taken on a part-time job at a salon, which has been a blast.
But it's not all about work. I've also been diving headfirst into my passion for abstract art and hosting paint nights. It's amazing how creativity can light up your life.
One of the big themes I want to talk about today is the importance of letting go of societal pressures. It's something I've been working on myself, and it's made a huge difference in reducing my stress and improving my overall well-being.
I'll also share some insights on how to effectively vet coaches based on my own experiences.

A Sunday morning rant about some of these ethics accounts, and how they call out coaches has me fired up!
As you know, I am all about being ethical in my business and learning about how to be better as a coach. But as I am doing my own research, I am noticing that SOME of the ones who are educating on BS marketing practices in the Coaching industry are shaming and being downright MEAN in their content.
This is my point of view as a Coach who is learning about ethics, seeing where I have gone wrong in the past, and making the necessary changes but also won't be BULLIED and made to feel SHAME because of the mistakes I've made.

In this episode, I share an update on what I'm learning about the online coaching industry and ethical marketing. It's undoubtedly an eye-opener for sure. I also share some personal life lessons that have come up over the past few weeks as I do this work.
As I learn more, I'm re-evaluating my own business programs and marketing practices, so I can make the necessary changes to be better for this industry.
This isn't easy to do as someone guilty of using unethical marketing practices in the past. However, my business is helping new online entrepreneurs start their businesses. Hence, I feel it's important to know and understand ethical business practices to teach them to my clients.
It's a LOT to unpack.

I have been absent from being here online for a few weeks, but I have a good reason.
A while back, I started feeling off about my business. I've had lots going on personally in my life, and to be honest, I felt burned out. My business was also slowing down in sales, and I was struggling to keep up with the demand required of me to sell sell sell to make an income. Everything was feeling off.
At this same time, I was having a bad experience trying to get out of a coaching program I no longer aligned with and full disclosure, I could no longer afford to take part. That coach was not letting me out of my contract... so that led me down a path of what was ethical and not ethical in online coaching, and well, I uncovered A LOT.
This is part one of some things I've uncovered in the coaching industry that I believe really need to change. Things I am guilty of myself and no shame, no stories; my guess is a lot of coaches are guilty of because it's how we were taught. But that doesn't excuse the behaviour.
As a coach that helps new online coaches start their businesses, I believe it's my responsibility to do my own research on what is changing in the industry and adjust my business accordingly, as well as educate those in my following what I'm learning.
So this is how it's really going with me right now.... buckle up; this one gets spicy.
