Hi! I am Joslyn the host of the Positivity in Pregnancy and Motherhood Podcast. I am a thought enthusiast, Latter-day Saint Christian, wife, and homeschooling mom of five. After my first pregnancy turned into an emergency C-section at 31 weeks, I was terrified to have more children. Not only was I scared, but I also disliked a lot of the changes that pregnancy brings. As a young girl I had dreams of having a larger family and being a mom.
That is all I desired.
But pregnancy was HARD. It knocked me completely off of my feet and I began to dread it. I even HIGHLY considered NOT having more children because the pregnancies were SO difficult. But that didn’t feel right. I knew God wanted me to have more children. Around this time I began learning about thoughts and the power of thoughts and positive thinking. I decided I was going to try changing my thoughts surrounding pregnancy from loathing dislike to more positive thoughts. It was an intentional process but it REALLY helped! IMMENSELY! I have now had five children and one miscarriage but I found mindset shifts that changes how I looked at pregnancy and it changed my pregnancies for the better.
God kept nudging me that these things needed to be shared with other women who desired to have more children but pregnancies were hard! Through Him, I created a simple course called The Positive Pregnancy Program that can help lift a negative mentality with pregnancy specific mindset shifts that WORK! I feel the passion and desire to share what I found so that you can also find the positive thoughts to help you through difficult and hard pregnancies.
After having my first child, I had a VERY difficult time being a stay-at-home-mom (SAHM). This was very hard and discouraging. Being a mom, and specifically a stay-at-home-mom had been my life goal/ dream/ aspiration. I was drowning in negative thoughts that destroyed my ability to enjoy my role as a SAHM and felt hopelessly discouraged in my good goals. Why were these good goals of mine SO HARD!?
7 years later, after many listening to many inspired podcasts, books and help from mentors, I have overcome SO many limiting beliefs holding me back from reaching my goals. Here are just a few milestones I have reached:
I have lost 45 pounds 2x.
I have found thought tools to make VERY difficult pregnancies better.
I have found DEEP joy in being a stay at home mom.
I have SINCERELY enjoyed homeschooling my kids without feeling resentful or jealous.
And in this journey I. Found. Me. I found Joslyn.
ALL of this progress in my personal improvement in pregnancy and motherhood began with a THOUGHT and re-directing and training my thoughts. If you are ready change your thoughts, and make headway in your divine motherly goals through in pregnancy and motherhood through small and simple mindset shifts, I can help YOU!
I provide easy thought tools, do-able ideas you can implement immediately, and thinking that can revolutionize you as a Daughter of God raising and growing His children! It is a powerful journey!

Postpartum Support International (PSI) staff and volunteers reflect on their own lived experience during the perinatal period (pregnancy + postpartum). Guests will explain how they sought & received help, and how they’re supporting the mental health of new families now. We’ll illustrate PSI’s core belief, that “You are not alone; You are not to blame; With help you will be well,” through storytelling. Each episode will demonstrate that none of us are alone, and that no matter our story, we can all say, “I AM ONE,” of many who are touched by Perinatal Mental Health Disorders (PMHD). Whether you’re seeking stories from someone who’s been there, or looking for a way to channel your passion for perinatal mental health advocacy, we hope to offer encouragement while making room for the serious and the silly. There is strength in processing trauma and empowerment in sharing stories – so that’s what we’re here to do!

There are few experiences as universal to human existence as pregnancy and childbirth, and yet its most difficult parts — perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs) — are still dealt with in the shadows, shrouded in stigma. The fact is 1 in 5 new and expecting birthing people will experience a PMAD, yet among those who do many are afraid to talk about it, some are not even aware they’re experiencing one, and others don’t know where to turn for help. The fact is, when someone suffers from a maternal mental health disorder it affects not only them, their babies, partners, and families - it impacts our communities.
In the Previa Alliance Podcast series, Sarah Parkhurst and Whitney Gay are giving air to a vastly untapped topic by creating a space for their guests — including survivors of PMADs and healthcare professionals in maternal mental health — to share their experiences and expertise openly. And in doing so, Sarah and Whitney make it easy to dig deep and get real about the facts of perinatal mental health, fostering discussions about the raw realities of motherhood. Not only will Previa Alliance Podcast listeners walk away from each episode with a sense of belonging, they’ll also be armed with evidence-based tools for healing, coping mechanisms, and the language to identify the signs and symptoms of PMADs — the necessary first steps in a path to treatment. The Previa Alliance Podcast series is intended for anyone considering pregnancy, currently pregnant, and postpartum as well as the families and communities who support them.
Sarah Parkhurst
Previa Alliance Podcast Co-host; Founder & CEO of Previa Alliance
A postpartum depression survivor and mom to two boys, Sarah is on a mission to destigmatize the experiences of perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs), and to educate the world on the complex reality of being a mom. Sarah has been working tirelessly to bring to light the experiences of women who have not only suffered a maternal mental health crisis but who have survived it and rebuilt their lives. By empowering women to share their own experiences, by sharing expert advice and trusted resources, and by advocating for health care providers and employers to provide support for these women and their families, Sarah believes as a society we can minimize the impact of the current maternal mental health crisis, while staving off future ones.
