Today we are joined by Gary Laybourne, CEO Coach Core - an employment and education charity that who use the long-term power of sport and Apprenticeships to truly change the lives of young adults A coach from the age of seventeen, Gary has worked in the coaching and sporting charity sector for over 20 years and has also won medals at major World, European and National triathlon championships. He has been part of the Coach Core programme since its launch in 2012, shaping, tutoring and leading the first London programme, overseeing its successful expansion through to its establishment as the Coach Core Foundation in 2020. Gary also chairs the Sport for Development Coalition employability group and sits on the UK Athletics Childrens Advisory Group, and the Active Surrey trustee board

Chris has been working in the leisure industry since 1995 and his experience to-date has seen him progress from delivering parties and holiday camps at his local sports centre to high profile national roles for both public and private leisure operators.

Lindsey has also been a board trustee at pacey, (professional association for childcare and early years), director at tinies childcare, my family care, and prior to this managed early years settings, and group childrenâs activities for a number of private providers and a health club chain and is a mum of 2 girls.

We are delighted to welcome James Hempsall OBE to the chair!!James is Managing Director of Coram Hempsalls and National Director for childcareworks. Both organisations are committed to promoting high quality practice and sustainable outcomes for children, through supporting Government, Local authorities and organisations. For over 30 years James has worked in the childrenâs services sector leading national implementation of key Government strategies in both pre-school learning and childcare. Including high profile support programmes such as the 15 hours for disadvantaged 2 year olds, the 30 hours childcare implementation, the Holiday Activities and Food (HAF), and the current National wraparound fund and increase in nursery entitlement. A passionate learner and educator James is also a qualified teacher and a Fellow of the Society for Education and Training and has 2 Master degrees in social welfare and psychotherapy. In June 2015, James received the OBE in the Queenâs birthday honours list for services to childcare.

Oliver (with his brother Ben !) built Tinies Childcare into what was the largest childcare business from 2001 to 2020âŠ.which at its peak provided 1,000 child carers a month to nurseries and the travel industry.
As well as operating over 40 nurseries and crĂšches in partnership with some key brands such as Ikea, DLL and GSK. Alongside Tinies, Ollie helped launch âmy family careâ - which became the UKâs leading family friendly benefit programme helping employees balance their childcare commitments Ollie then successful sold the business to Bright horizons supporting the growth and integration. And now is supporting a number of organisations develop.
